Because they are amateurs in merchandizing (If not in everything) and have the behavior of a child when is time to capitalize their products (their characters and tales). They don't understand that is a game, and is a power fantasy game since the first one (hence the name), and from their lead dev they're a bunch of upity kids that doesn't like to share because the mayority hasn't passed over the wattpad stage. To write smut is not trying to describe sexual acts on a sexy way. But adding situations and using paraprasing in accord of what you want to depict. You need to capture the idea of what is happening and how your characters are going to the "slaughterhouse". And surprisingly, all of them (With their exceptions) doesn't know how to write power fantasy. Nor write a decent novel.I mean i get that sense of attachment to their OC and all. But why put it out there as a product. Why not just keep it to themselves to begin with if those can't be shaped to suit the audience needs.
Why bring your favourite toys to the sandbox if you don't want to share? Should have brought the ones where you're less attached to it instead of showing off your favourite one. Might get told off to get out of the sandbox for being like that.
"Is a game". Well that is another diffculty barrier. Because you know that not only your characters and tales can be branched out. but that you don't have any control of how is going to end, and your characters are sacrificial lambs. You need to think in different outcomes. Plan how to frlow in a fixed pace and their different paths on a bad escenario and a hidden darker one (if you know what are you doing), or write a lighter one (Good escenario) where everything worked better than expected. making a "novel game" is far harder for the coders and programmers. Because it will have many variables to code and dictate what and how they're going to be unlocked.
And this one clearly we can see that from the lead. they doesn't know what they are doing.
WazaQQXOXO has a gist of what is happening, that the main issue is revolved around Savin and his ineptitude of fleshig out a game that could mean the demise of many of their wattpad tier (in the writing department and author behavior) Characters on the hands of the players. Also add that Savin is a fetishist. And giving control to the player/consumers to destroy his fetishes hits him hard than an porn addict when his stash is burned on his sight.I would says it all boils down to the way the game is being developed. The team-lead is the one who decide what kind of content they want to offer to the audience. Most of the active writers have made clear not being interested on themes usually associated with corruption, therefore the audience won't get any of it.
