Some miscellaneous thoughts as I keep on keeping on:
For all that he's labeled as the head writer, the Winter City was Savin's first major contribution to the quest writing. He'd pop in here and there, usually to set something up before leaving it all to the others, so his vision for how things would play out has been murky. With his voice firmly in command for once, what I got from this adventure was a whole salt mine over (what I assume to be) cut ideas for CoC plotlines. Kasyrra just
unloads over how sloppy the final dungeon was.
Speaking of people who shouldn't be allowed to write non-horny scenes, this made me laugh:
You confidently set your stance and muddle over your own thoughts for half a minute, trying not to think about sex and cute people. "Not a problem, I'll pay Garth money; he'll solve all of our problems... at least this time."
I don't pick on SKoW just because he comes off like he's either 13 years old and just discovered that BOOBS are AWESOME or 43 and hasn't figured anything out beyond that. You don't
expect anything from someone like that. Lines like this, though, where they tasked him with a 'real' piece of writing and he visibly doesn't know what to do, caught me off guard with their buffoonery.
Seems like the minotaur town is the next big thing. I'm actually looking forward to that; if it's mostly Wsan then it should have a basic sense of what people actually want from the game on display. Curious to see how he handles a whole plot.
