The hell? Why am I seeing things like Kiyoko being an uber waifu when she's literally the best gaslighter in the game?
Did people forgot all about those? :FacePalm:

She's great for preg shenanigans but that's all there is to it, she will appear as the best wife in front of us but when you start seeing how they really treat the PC with the others, everything good goes down the drain.

Doesn't help the fact that the PC also has an IQ above 1 but not higher than 2 either so they'll never notice.

You ask the assembled bar patrons if anybody has seen either a strange mouse-woman or Urta around. The sparse morning crowd points, virtually as one, toward the back rooms. As you approach, you hear a thumping, banging commotion coming from one of the rooms...

Did you maybe stop and think that I fell for Urta because she's humble and kind and tried to understand my feelings? So basically. Fenoxo in his infinite wisdom decided to make his selfinsert fuck Amily and then tried to put up as many layers to make it possible in some warped 'not actually it's still true love' tomfoolery.
You didn't let them know about each other.
There's no option to do that unless you're playing a mod. Which also outright removes the absolute dogturd of a scene to begin with.

Anyways the options the player is given is just leave like the chump you are and everything is all hunky dory afterwards, raise issue (which effectively removes both of them from the game), or be a dick about it the next night (same thing). I'll avoid going into the works on how the character pitch of monogamous true love mouse-waifu is completely incompatible with the three letter word.

But this was during Fen's perpetual fuck-everything-up-and-alienate-all-the-writers days.

You'll have to excuse me for the lack of examples this time.
Around her own kind she:
  • Goes to bat for you against Komari after you knock up Miko/Mai
  • Gives you space with Kohaku when you soothe the relationship
  • Supports literally your every decision including one to turn down sharing your juice with the rape gangs
  • Coaches Rindo
    • Twice
      • While Generally being smug about how you you are
  • Has that one preg scene with miko/mai where the majority of it is just her talking up how much of a stud you are
  • That scene where you catch Hotaru vigorously entertaining herself
In reference to her and her station we know that she:
  • Is determined to remain in her current position/power
  • Is well within her rights to take over the den but ultimately decides not to
I'll have to look for it. But I'm about 60% sure I remember Tobs saying (yes yes I know it's Tobs, she could get hobgoblin'd again tomorrow for all we know) that she would absolutely side with you and your family against all odds if push came to shove. I'll have to look for that.

Look I agree with that sentiment somewhat.
Tobs exhibited only the negative aspects of a cross cultural relationships in regards to childcare in a comically toxic fashion and uses "deal with it" as the response to criticism.
Who knows what the thought process is. I certainly would hope he thinks he's impervious to mistakes.

There were plenty of ways to MAKE it one-sided without it pissing all over any kind of dynamic all the way up to and including your fox wife asking you to trust you to do what she knows is best. Goodness knows how much I've heard that one before in real life. (And it generally being true because I don't know everything including "what's best").

And the results of his genius decision are plain to see. Instead of cultivating a relationship with your kin he instead succeeded in creating a dynamic in which you are quite literally an alien outsider and yet the game expects you to care about the solo questline of a genuine stranger.
I could swear I remember him talking about Princess Maker as a loose inspiration for Kinu's dynamic and if that's any part of his inspiration he is woefully incapable of transferring even 1% of that kind of energy.

I agree with the top picks of this poll hard, but I'D rearrange pretty much everything else lol, likely put Atugia above Brint (he is a total bro don't get me wrong but I'm here to jack it off and I'm straight so he running with a handicapp on my tier), then Cait, then Brint (his absolute bro/chad energy earns him this spot) and then Arona.

Quintillus, ASSirran, Agniblarg and Vivianne all go bottom tier for boring.
