Personally, I wouldn't mind if there was an end-game kind of quest where your character became the 8th Divine in order to fight the Abyssal Thing, or whatever it's called.

Of course, this quest would have to be insanely difficult and involve all seven of the current Divines, as well as spit in the face of the developers desires to not make the game a power-fantasy.

That's a power fantasy so nope, never gonna happen.

I don't think player agency really needs to be considered THAT much when it comes to making a power fantasy. Let's say you're playing some other porn game where you have a harem, nobody really dislikes you, your character manages to bullshit their way out of situations, etc. If you're meant to self-insert as the main character(which you often are), I'd still view it as a power fantasy even if you don't have explicit control over the character's action. You're still in the position of power and living it up with no real downsides. DOOM is a power fantasy even if you play as a predefined character because you're the one wielding that power. Harem anime are power fantasies because we put ourselves in the protag's shoes since they're usually so normal. DOOM sure as hell is a rail-road but it's definitely still a power fantasy.

This game keeps progressively elevating your status and doesn't really take it away in many situations besides kitsune content. You start out as a random nobody that's going to the marches for their own reason. Then you become an unknown quantity due to getting hit by portal magic and Kasyrra becoming interested in you. Then you start out on a quest to stop this big bad demon lady from taking over the world. Then you become champion of a village and an entire race of people. You see where I'm going with this, right? The only times the game brings the player back down from the power trip outside of kitsune content are... all I can think of are loss scenes. The fact that you can actually choose which content you want to see just adds to the power fantasy imo.



Honestly I think ANY content involving TOBS is fucking trash. The way he writes even outside of kitsune shit just drives me up the wall. Guy does not know how to tone down the word count for shit and expects you to give a shit about all these useless words. I don't need an ENTIRE FUCKING PAGE for you to describe the upper levels of the kitsune tree TOBS. I don't need you to write some never-ending thing about touching some Fox-girl's fluffy ears and have her orgasm from it.

The guy just throws never ending words at your face and expects you to give a shit. Like wow very epic word count my dude but why should I engage with your content when you do absolutely nothing to make it appealing besides some mediocre sex scenes? So all these dumbass kitsune cunts my PC can easily murder can treat me like shit except for one of them? I say one and not two because Kiyoko treats you as if you don't matter despite being your spouse. Kohaku is the only decent person there. The whole Gweyr family conflict isn't any better. Not a single person in that family is particularly likable but the dude writes it as if the reader or the PC is personally invested in any of it. Garth is a grumpy and stoic dude who barely talks and certainly doesn't talk about anything meaningful, garret is just some kid in the sticks wanting to be bigger than he is, and Gwyn is just some girl you can dump babies into. But yeah sure, write some "wholesome" thing about a chick who slaughtered a bunch of kids/teenagers reunite with her family or some shit.

Fuck that feels good to get off my chest. TOBS content is really the only content I particularly dislike in the game and it fucking sucks so much of his shit is a pretty big chunk of the game. He does not know how to be concise and writes these unnecessarily long word vomits that just expect you to give a shit even though all of his characters are pretty flat and boring.

Inb4 someone calls me a hypocrite for complaining.

I mean, Liaden and Azzy, Daliza and Jae'lyn, the entirety of Cait, most of Tobs' content post-amulet, Agni, the upcoming Ryn content, and so forth and so on. Not the best analogy but if every now and then Doomguy was made to feel absolutely powerless solely 'cause fuck him, i think the whole experience would feel quite different. Hell, that the rest of the game is badassery after badassery would make the shitty parts stand out even more. And that's really what i meant by railroad, forcing the player to go throught content questionable at best, and not just that but also have (what should be) my character go along with it.

Like, ultimately to me a power fantasy means being or feeling in control, either through gameplay that lands itself to the notion (DOOM) or a story that lets me be/do whatever the hell i want (Dragon Age: Origins is probably the best example). If in a game like this one you can't do the latter then yeah.

Having said that though, i will say one can carve a fine enough power fantasy out of this game by studiously avoiding all the content they will not enjoy. But still. You kinda have to eat the turd first, so it's more like grinding a goddamn one-shotting dragon and his whole stupid fucking area in Dark Souls (2) until he's your bitch. The souls feel nice, but some of your soul gonna be drained in the attempts

Building/not building the temple is supposed to be a turning point for Cait, one path locks her into temple service or turbosloot, the other an actual relationship. Supposedly. This is all based on things said are "in the pipeline" so who knows what will change by then cause Savin is too lazy to code it. Also they are totally child groomers in that temple and the game needs the option to let the player start culling some wraiths.

As someone who is a complete outsider to this entire community, it's incredibly obvious to even me how poorly written the kitsune content is, and how genuinely out of place it seems in the game as a whole.

It seemed really suspect to me when... literally all of the content in this area was written by the same guy, and how... unsexy? it all was. The dude just goes on and on and his porn scenes are SO boring, and once I got to like the third character who was explaining how complicated their culture is, and how I could NEVER grasp how awesome they are even once their god turned me into one of them (gigantic mistake), I understood how far up his own ass the writer must be. Who does this content appeal to? People who play their porn games for the political intrigue of boring japanese foxes?

And what is up with him adding characters that don't have porn scenes? Like, no offense, but in a game like CoC2, I think it's pretty reasonable to expect every character to be fuckable (minus children, although idk why those are really in the game to begin with, and even then I still think Kinu should be fuckable). This dude adds a shortstack MILF fox, and she's completely unfuckable. I went through the entire kitsune den hoping beyond hope to unlock the ability to fuck that fox and was sorely disappointed.

At least it has Rindo. The only character I like (besides the MILF). But even her content is filled with stupid bullshit and even when I take this poor fox as my ""concubine"" the writer feels the need to remind me that "erm actually, this is just temporary and you shouldn't take it serious. It's just political." oh well, at least there are a bunch of poorly written sex scenes involving her where the writer keeps retreading the same "shes beautiful BECAUSE of her scars" bullshit. Yeah, I know. So write good porn and not gigantic walls of text with like 3 lines of dialogue from the character I'm supposedly fucking. She seems real into it, man.

Also, I like Cait. Just felt like I needed to get that out there because it seems like a lot of people dislike her for admittedly reasonable reasons, but I think she's alright. I do wish her writer would stop with the weird cuck shit though, it feels weird for characters to be fucking when the PC isn't involved to some extent. I don't even mind cucking content being in the game, as long as the player themselves chooses to engage with it. Also her spiel about non-monogamy before you fuck her for the first time is just cringe and unnecessary. No other character goes "hey before we fuck I'm not exclusive to you, I'm going to fuck whoever I want whenever I want" like man if I'm not cool with that I just won't click on the sex scenes that involve you and another character. I don't get how the game doesn't understand shoving that content in the players face without them really choosing is stupid. Also also Salwah is insufferable and the worst character in the game, which sucks because her art is really hot.

And add more Berwyn content.

Anyway, needed to get this out there. Been having a great time reading through this gigantic thread. Sorry for making this so long.

Pretty indifferent with Cait. People get mad about her content but as people point out, she's a hyper slut, and If you build the temple, she becomes a Uber slut lol As someone who doesn't touch someone's sloppy seconds, I stopped touching that thing the moment she told me she wants to fuck anything that moves. From that moment in the super early game, she just became my trusted slutty pal I use to take care of things I don't want to. On the other hand, while I don't personally get it since I don't touch used up, sloppy seconds with anything less than a fifty foot pole to protect me, if people want something more with the slut cat, they should be able to, or at least be able to pull a lilith's throne and knock her up. With how the temple works, you think producing children for their religion would add more, not less value to one of their clergy members.

(for fuck's sake how can this guy force me to compare him & Lovecraft in any way, shape or form is a cosmic horror in on itself.)

I also like Cait (kind of a guilty pleasure I know) but I didn't knew that temple shit...oh well no harm since the writters do half the things they promise anyway.

P.S: Donating wood/stones/metal to Kiyoko's house once she out of the orb does anything or is just a glorified item dump?

Rindo's nothing, in my opinion. It's Ragnild that's the weaboo's biggest casualty. A breedable orc blacksmith with no penis attached to her, and she's never mentioned by anyone ever because she's vintage Tobs (aka boring as shit).

Like, no joke SKoW would have done a better job 'cause at least he'd have let himself be hardcarried by the art/design like he did with Aileh. Tobs actively managed to make her as forgettable as possible. Shit'd be impressive if it wasn't so bad.

Noone ever mentions a lot of good characters when they aren't getting scenes.

I'm generally the only one who brings up Clem, for instance, Valencia is great, sleepy snake girl is fun, Lyric...etc
