The revamp mod for CoC1 is very good, pretty much completes the game after the devs abandoned it. Used to have its own section in the Fen forums but not sure if that still exists.
It comes off as strangely sexually regressive. Despite being frank about it's sexuality, there's basically nobody who isn't just a normal person who has sex. There's hyper-sexual people, and then there are turbo-sluts like Cait. Now, ordinarily, you could chalk that up to porn game logic, but with the writing being so damn flowery and Tobs making every damn thing have some additional component to it, it makes me wonder if Tobs (and a few others) view sex as something you need to justify with more. This is more out there, and could just be chalked up to bad writing and poor ego control, but I do have to wonder if the writers are defensive about writing porn and try to make it 'more' to avoid the stigma they feel about it. Either way, shit writing.
I mean, I've seen a lot of other games on this site which seem written with a rather… misogynistic, or even incel worldview. I imagine it must be dangerously easy for the author's views on sex and sexuality to leak out when working on a porn game.
There's the /hgg/ mod which basically builds upon the revamped mod and is maintained by the weird 4chan people. Although fair warning, it involves Loli stuff(you can turn it off though), so if you don't tolerate that I'd suggest getting the revamped mod instead, but then again it does remove some content from the base game which /hgg/ mostly adds back in, such as Aiko, and the Volcanic Crag. There's also the Xianxia mod which add a bunch of content gameplay wise but doesn't have shit in terms of porn - and if it is there it's usually of subpar quality. I personally found it unnecessarily bloated, boring and tedious but I've heard others say otherwise.
The revamp mod is solid, just completed my first play-through of that. Like Wrynn13 already said revamp basically finish the game for the devs. So it is closer to a true experince while adressing some of the games annoying aspects. I just started the Xianxia mod for CoC1. As far as I can tell the Xianxia mod adds new characters, and an enhanced difficulty if you're looking for a more challenging experience. Which normally I wouldn't recommend in a porn game, but CoC actually has decent enough rpg mechanics where you could create different builds and try to play for its mechanic instead simply using it as fuel for masturbation.

i dont wanna make too many assumptions bc its not like i know tobs or any of these ppl personalyl but for me it possibly speaks about how they view women who have sex lol. i'm not exactly a cait fan myself so i don't spend much time with her but she can't just be a priestess who has a bunch of sex. she has to be described as a turbo slut, slutty priestess, etc in the writing. now to be fair cait has a LOT of sex. but considering there are in-universe reasons (even if the mallach temple religion bullshit is its own can of worms) for her doing so why would she be slutty for engaging in normal mallach priestess activities? idk. not to mention most of the characters in cocii seem to have a lot of sex considering it's a porn game lol.

It was generally the case for me when I played it. Although there's occasionally some nuggets of gold to be found here and there. Some of Aiko's scenes are improved and you can fuck the Tailor in Tel'Adre. There might be more but that's all I can think of lol. But that mod just adds WAY too much content and most of it isn't polished or fleshed out, and in most cases are just straight up unfinished, or at least FEEL unfinished. Even the gameplay aspect is bloated tbh, there's like 500 to 1000 perks in total, and half of them are literally just the exact same perk but slightly upgraded. That and the numbers are just way too big. /hgg/, revamp and the base game tends to stick to 4 digits at most, maybe 5 if you're fighting an endgame boss after multiple ascensions, in Xianxia the number system is so high that even before an ascension bosses can literally have MILLIONS of health points which is just ridiculous.
