And that due to this game's writing direction being as flimsy as the Champion's personality writer by writer- which is how you end up with an abandoned commission like Agni taking up a companion slot.
Though to be fair she's some centaur with no personality beyond dick big, so blends right in with other futas by Wsan.
Eh, yeah, but that's kinda the issue with a paid commission in this thing, it'll always come from the same people who already back the project.
The same people who are generally pro-futa and other things that I'm generally not a fan and will continue to not be a fan.
Not that there's anything wrong with that on itself but in this particular case, it's pretty cyclical. People pay for more futa stuff, people say they want more futa stuff, more futa stuff appears which entices the futa fans to ask for more futa stuff, say they want more futa stuff and so on and so forth.
If both the developing side and the paying side are in full agreement about more futa stuff, people like us who generally only care about it because of the title will simply watch from afar in jest or move on. It sucks that the title got blown on this but it does make sense that it is what it is considering who's leading the development and the audience they curtailed it to, either by accident or on purpose.
I think people are missing the big picture with this whole OC debacle. The problem with OC commissions is that Savinco have no integrity when it comes to what they let through. Kalysea should've never been added to the game, for no other reason than the fact that she's an almost carbon copy of Orlaith. Futanari centaur, heavy nature theme, you suck and fuck it. Any differentiation is laughably shallow. One turning you into their brainrotted slave doesn't really add enough to make it unique. And the people that make this game couldn't give less of a fuck. Wsan's more than happy to (mostly) rewrite his primary fetish once again. All that matters is they get paid enough to implement it and that it doesn't offend them in some way or fuck with their OCs. Doesn't matter if it's redundant content or not. Someone could probably commission a 1 to 1 clone of an existing character and no one would bat an eye. Oh, and I had a laugh when someone said Wsan writes for commissions "on his own time". I doubt he works 9 to 5 on his main commitment to the game, everything he does is on his own time.
I will say that if I somehow managed to find fortune in an hour and somehow decided to spend money on CoC2 as opposed to the other 75 things I can think off the top of my head (ranging from charity, savings, investments, solar panels, a painting of Thalia, soccer jerseys and several food options), I'd probably come up with a hastily made Cait clone that would absolutely help the Champ out at all times while taking the piss off the original just for the banter.
Eh, this place has been pretty toxic and echo-chambery for a long time now, I don't particularly expect a massive turnaround from a bit of finger-wagging.
Just gotta shrug it off at this point.
Maybe they should've been more open to a discourse over at their side and wielded the hammer more fairly.
But truthfully speaking, the companions is just... too one sided, and really it's just my own rant but post free Kinu and Kiyoko can be done much better than what the current is, I used to think it's a masterpiece, but as I read through it, the MC get into less of a father and more of a bumbling fool who are happy with what he's given and not searching for anything more.
Like sure, the whole Kitsune as a whole is a matriarchy based society, but they are also traditional to the point, like is it so hard to ask for advice from your other parent.
Seriously what type of childhood does Tobs have, like sure my father is distant but for something like marriage, I sure as hell would ask him for an input.
I feel like it was the first point of the whole game that I found it genuinely mindboggling. Then finding out why it was how it was just makes it properly moronic.
The rest of the companions have their own range from being generally fine to have around (Brienne, that headless character I keep forgetting the name of) to "leave it in the inn and never look at them ever again" (Quin). But then you have Kiyoko's Bizarre Adventure and finally Cait, Whorecat of Babylon, the True Protagonist; both being cases of shit you'll end up going through because someone just insisted on it.
Both would've probably been fine as concepts somewhere else. Here, not so much.
