I'd like an option to tell the gods to fuck off once you find out that they're pretenders.
To be honest this reads as the most uncharitable interpretation of vague statements possible, the only part that stands out as unequivocally bad is them being stuck in the temple until adulthood and even then there could be any number of unknown mitigating factors.Oh hey. It's been almost two years since we've bounced back here.
For us, I'd say that's a new record
The thing is, that they are trapped in that temple, their whole childhood, that their formative years, you know?, the ones that basically give a person the mainframe of who they'll be as adults, are developed in a whorehouse where they learn that exchanging sex for money is something good and desirable, even more, is a religious, spiritual call from their god, who wants them to spread passion all over the world, through more children who'll became whores and so on, foreverTo be honest this reads as the most uncharitable interpretation of vague statements possible, the only part that stands out as unequivocally bad is them being stuck in the temple until adulthood and even then there could be any number of unknown mitigating factors.
No one is forced, they're free to leave once they're adults, seeing naked women in the aftermath of sex could just as easily be explained by communal bathing facilities, sex education for post puberty teens isn't a weird concept so long as they're not participating.
In a real world setting yes this would draw considerable scrutiny, in a setting where sex is much less taboo in general it hardly stands out in my mind.
The fact that you have to go through a bunch of flimsy reasons to justify children growing up in a literal whorehouse is telling enough. To be honest this reads as the most uncharitable interpretation of vague statements possible, the only part that stands out as unequivocally bad is them being stuck in the temple until adulthood and even then there could be any number of unknown mitigating factors.

Savin be like, "here's your two choices to empower Kasyrra's soul and bring her back now that she's good, choose wisely dear champion", and both of them are cumDunno why I thought it would've been someone else writing this scene. The PC really is an acessory to everything with this goofball, ain't it?
I must be the exception then because I want to pummel both to a pulp. Her introduction was so hilariously pointed for a Big Bad that when I saw the Romantic option underneath in my first time playing, I thought someone was taking the piss.
Congrats to the parties involved on hitting a proper plot point with an ambulance in behalf of their fetish! Maybe don't have the possible turncoat demon start with a huge dick that she wishes to ram into the PC in the very first encounter?
Given I'm not in the romantic path, I'd rather fight Kasyrra, have her sacrifice be an attempt at redemption while enpowering the PC for a fight with Tollus.
If there's any post-game scenario on that regard, it'd probably be "find a way to bring Kasyrra back because you totally want her around and you chose to kill her off by accident, Savin really wants you to get a load of her large futa dick, stop going against it", which is where I'd stop playing.
It reads like whats written and the statements are only vague with a bit of stretching. To be honest this reads as the most uncharitable interpretation of vague statements possible
As of the mushroom dungeon that's basically been written out of existence. What really caused the the Wyld's decline was evil dark hidden corrupted dryd trees.IIRC that Tree was sapping the Wyld's life force and making Boreal Elves Druid's lives evens hittier? it be pretty rad if the Wyld's last act of defiance was cursing the kitsune into living in an eternally miserable mood lol.
I was mostly fine with it until only really recently. Now that Kas has a copy of the ring of fate we've essentially had her experience the entire equivalent of a character arc completely off screen. The next time we see her after that quest, at the ball, she's talking about how crazy and awful her entire perspective is.the real problem is its never focused on. Its briefly mentioned that 'Kas did bad thing' and then immediately moved on from.
this is the type of hubris I take pleasure in holding contempt and abuse for. unfourtunately, persons like this are sequestered in their castles of enablement, justifying its existence for the shelter it provides from such hateare the writers so enamored with their own creations that they can't conceive someone from their own setting, hating them?
And I would totally agree that especially of late they haven't really done a whole lot with it. I'm just hoping that they use the pieces that they've established and integrate it into the third act in at least some way. That's the thing they usually don't tackle morality. The story typically goes mortals must worship them, they treat people like shit but that's ok because some other group is worse. That's just a lazy excuse.
The only God that I've ever seen that I actually thought was interesting is The Lady of Pain from Planescape.
I think its more the old problem: he and the team don't really want to write anything dark, or any kind of corruption.Hmm...
Savin has many talents, character arcs thus far hasn't been one of them. I just hope more big moments that change Kas perspective don't continue to exclusively happen off screen.
Honestly the first time I played this game I wasn't truly on her romance route. It didn't feel right for my mc to sleep with the unknown demon while she was under the influence of the portal explosion. It wasn't until I encountered her Halloween date when I traveled the forest that made me go all in on the romance.I think its more the old problem: he and the team don't really want to write anything dark, or any kind of corruption.
What grinds my gears is that the arc already EXISTS. It's not like I'm complaining the story should have gone in a direction I made up; a solid arc is in the game!
Hero is inexplicably drawn to big bad evil demon. Evil demon taunts and threatens hero while enjoying the chase. Hero struggles between duty and feelings. Further complications arise when the Hero gets a glimpse of what Kas was/could be (which works for both a hero already romancing and a hero that hates Kas).
Savin already has the outline. Heck, he said himself about Calise that she is the intended on-boarding point for the Kas/romance redemption arc for most heroes because he doesn't expect most people want to romance big bad Demon Queen Kas.
Except it's not working because there barely ANY friction. She's supposed to be soulless and incapable of love, yet almost immediately she starts behaving like a girl with a crush. She wants to conquer the world and remake it how she likes yet, yet this barely gets a mention in favor of dates and visits woth your kid.
She's doing horrific human experimentation in her basement, buuut it's just used as an opportunity for a BDSM sex scene. The narrative never focuses on anything Kas does wrong, just briefly mentions it and immediately noone cares.
The player should feel guilty and conflicted about romancing Kas; yet most of your companions are just like "go get 'er, Champ!"
There's a solid skeleton of an interesting arc in place and it's just constantly downplayed and brushed to the side for more Kas waifu moments.
I've said before that I think Savin is the best writer on the team and I think if he wanted to he could actually do justice to this part of the plot; but he just doesn't seem to want to.
think its bc he didnt(still doesnt, who knows) see the "dark" things kas did as flaws, caits sex cult, or the nonchalant self righeous seven; just the catch-all "dubious". he cant/wont explore the nuance or dichotomy of these moving parts because he didnt see anything wrong, he thinks its all grey. but the aversion of corrupt characterization to me confirms he thinks himself pure, and the offscreening of kas' perspective shift makes me feel he only had the realization of chicanery afoot himself while writing act 2 and haphazardly covered his tracks. otherwise writing in the character development would require he face himself which i dont think hes done.but he just doesn't seem to want to
i brought this scene up in my (personal )coc2 gripe doc as the first(only?) scene i felt kas genuine and affectionate and it turns out savin didnt write it lmaoIt wasn't until I encountered her Halloween date when I traveled the forest that made me go all in on the romance.
oh im sorry i thought this wasI think the main problem is that the devs what to make a light hearted porn game that upsets no one so they don't build up the horrors of the world properly.
they ain got the facilities to handle allat nuance and it makes me overflow with disappointmentThe orcs are rapists and slavers but that isn't given the weight it should because that dark content would upset the payers which will just lead to more retcons.
It's a dark setting about a world being ravaged by monstruous beings from another dimension, and the souls of all living things used as tokens in a game for power. Your champion because of a freak accident became the one character than can turn the tide and maybe, maybe, even bring salvation to the very enemy of all things good and pure, or at least as pure as that world allows it. Yet all of this is executed through uWu furry logic filterthink its bc he didnt(still doesnt, who knows) see the "dark" things kas did as flaws, caits sex cult, or the nonchalant self righeous seven; just the catch-all "dubious". he cant/wont explore the nuance or dichotomy of these moving parts because he didnt see anything wrong, he thinks its all grey. but the aversion of corrupt characterization to me confirms he thinks himself pure, and the offscreening of kas' perspective shift makes me feel he only had the realization of chicanery afoot himself while writing act 2 and haphazardly covered his tracks. otherwise writing in the character development would require he face himself which i dont think hes done.

you made it sound so much cooler than it is bar the uwu filter like damn i wanna play that gameIt's a dark setting about a world being ravaged by monstruous beings from another dimension, and the souls of all living things used as tokens in a game for power. every opportunity to take the moral high ground they will, with their broken compass,The one time they wrote about slavery being something bad was to spite that Hildur guy because he dared to dream with a catgirl harem, orcs and minotaurs meanwhile raid and pillage each other but only to bang the other team, or make them cooks
alot of characters do read like they(savco) be patting tf out of themselves on the backIt feels like the end point will be either fucking Kasyrra into Calise or not, with everyone still clapping because you reached the end and... Calla jumping back from hell dimension and now she's a futa too
There's bnot really any mods. There will never be any significant mods for this game, to be honest; it's just wishful thinking.I’m confused about this game, people are saying they’re waiting for mod support, or that there is no mod support, or that modding the game is difficult, or that the game is unmoddable.
Then some other guy says all content is under resources/apps, I check there and I find the content. I edit Cait’s dialogue and it shows up in the game, no issues.
and the demons are also there too. It's a dark setting about a world being ravaged by monstruous beings from another dimension, and the souls of all living things used as tokens in a game for power.
The MC is a sidekick, not a champion.Your champion because of a freak accident became the one character than can turn the tide and maybe, maybe, even bring salvation to the very enemy of all things good and pure, or at least as pure as that world allows it. Yeah, I've heard a lot of people come out with the "unmoddable" talk and didn't even bother trying to look at the game files to see if it was really impossible, I'd imagine there are probably a lot of coders in the same boat. There's bnot really any mods. There will never be any significant mods for this game, to be honest; it's just wishful thinking.
The people saying the game can't be molded or modding is blocked somehow are just passing around misinformation like a fane of telephone. Happens a lot.
