Not that i don't get it, but at the same time Skow turned her lesbian and Tobs had her raped. Which make up for two out of three times she was written by other people. That's not writers caring about the characters or other people's work and trying to get it right, it's people actively giving no shits and doing whatever - because (my OC's awesome so let's get her another girlfriend/my OC's better so fuck this cow also i'm out of meds).

Which again, not that you're wrong, would certainly be a lot of pressure and honestly as things stand you're probably right in that anything of the like is best left to Wsan, but as things stand. Had Tobs respected his colleague's work like he does his own then we wouldn't be talking about a rape scene but rather some longwinded Brienne/Kiyoko threesomes.

But, not the reality we live in so i guess Brienne's best left safe in the cow bubble. Which, great bubble but shit's just cartoony. Excuse me if I'm being dense, this was only very lightly glossed over: Hasn't Sera proven that you can make a sub route to an otherwise dominant character(and have it be their defining trait) and have it work?

If Sera released without her sub route, you'd obviously think that's antithetical to her character right? But we can see with her that you can develop a character's appeal to be more than just if you dominate or submit to them.

Even if a route can be considered antithetical to the character, that can be the ENTIRE reason something is more attractive, no? Role reversal itself can oftentimes be more appealing than having just the one option. I know I for one find the idea of turning the tables on a dommy futa(because no dommy vagina havers lol) very attractive, but that's not really a common option in these games which is pretty sad.

Evelyn as a character is sold to players as a dom. People that like Evelyn like her because she is a dom. Making her a sub would be an entirely different ballpark in terms of appeal-

The discussion isn't - or at least wasn't - about whether or not it could work. It probably could.

It was about hypocrisy of people being down on one significant character change but championing the other.

Whether or not it should actually happen is a whole 'nother kettle of worms (and a discussion I believe we've had before).

I think a character getting more optional content regardless of whenever you like the fetish or not is a truly good thing, keyword OPTIONAL.

Wherever it's a sub route for Evelyn, a ntr path with Brieanne or a monogamous relationship with Cait. I think coc 2 would be at its best if it allowed the player to truly have the freedom (or the illusion of it) to choose how they want to interact with the characters and fetish content the character has, as long as the OPTIONAL situations makes sense character wise, whats truly the harm in it?

You have to purposefully put her in debt and then buy her, basically enslaving her. And she's still not that "subby." I guess you could make a corrupt character do that here, I don't see any other reasonable way.

But I still feel like I didn't make good enough points.
The 'point' being that a character losing their monogamous status would potentially be a 'bridge too far' when compared to a dom becoming a sub or gaining sub scenes.

The hill I was previously willing to die on was that you can't compare the asks of one to the other as they're fundamentally different in weight.
e.g; making a route, even if optional that makes Brienne like Cait in regards to sexual promiscuity, would ruffle significantly more feathers than if Evelyn got a sub route. Using evidence of other characters in the past that were dom and became sub as examples of how that's been quite literally proven to be more digestible.

Then it spun off with having to address more minute points like "no that character isn't going to be ruined narratively look at how this other character was able to maintain their core with good enough penmanship" and trying (and failing) to establish the differences in meta appeal.

Edit: Although now that I think on it, I guess I could have shown factual appeal in regards to 'multiple partners' by just bringing up the old patreon polls where group sex and threesomes were consistently some of the lowest voted content consistently.

Though that runs into the issue in that those are like 3 years old at this point and the audience then is in no way indicative of the audience now. Bleh.

Oh, I'm not opposed to any of those things in principle. I'm up for almost anything. There is, however quite often a LOT of bitching in this thread about certain kinks every time they come up, whether its people complaining about futa, people complaining about NPCxNPC stuff, or people complaining about sub/dom dynamics. SO clearly, not everyone is quite as saintly as I am.

I'm good with most everything when it comes to what kind of stuff makes it into the game.



That being said...there's the issue of time.

Wsan took, what, a year and a half to finish this Brihaus stuff? And mind you, this isn't even the last big hoorah for Brienne - her actual character quest is supposed to concern the cursed armor (and Brint is supposed to have his own equivalent). And then he has to do several more areas in KM still...

Gardeford and Aly took about the same amount of time to work on the valks. Jstar took about a year to do Tetsuya. Savin took like 8 months to do Ryn's quest, and still isn't even done with the follow-up stuff. It's consistently taken around a year for any largish project.

There's already been several things scrapped because backlogs are too big. There comes a point where every time X thing gets added, Y thing stands an increasingly worse making it in, and I'm honestly pretty sure we're well past that point.

Wsan already alluded to that, when he suggested that alternate routes for Eve (or any of his characters) would be the first thing on the chopping block in favor of "primary characterization".
He also keeps doomsaying whether or not he'll ever get to spend the time fleshing out the dryads like he really wants to.


So when it comes to trying to expand a character's appeal outside of that character's original scope...I would simply rather them spend time and effort working with that character expanding on the material that's already there.
