This feels really out of place. Like it's for an entirely different character rather than the literal whore that Cait is (not that whores don't deserve love and affection, but COME ON). This interaction just doesn't make sense given the setting and the character of Cait. She's a temple whore, she's probably had dozens, if not hundreds of people shower her with compliments as they blow their load. It's what people do. And thanking her dad and him acting like 'oh shucks I'm just a regular joe with a family and a 9 to 5'? It's so bland you could transplant it to the modern day with entirely different characters and nothing would change.
No culture or character is shown here! There is nothing to indicate that this man knocked up a temple prostitute and his daughter is one. This is my problem with the game's 'worldbuilding,' because there's so much talk about gods and cultures and people and yadda yadda yadda, but when they actually show the details of that world, it's the weakest shit. None of the worldbuilding matters, because none of the characters act like they're from a different culture and have different rolls within that culture and the different perspectives of that! I'm not asking for much, maybe just acknowledge that a temple prostitute (and a dude who frequents temple prostitutes) would've heard that line before!
What frustrates me the most is that this is the perfect opportunity to make things sexy! They have this world filled with catgirl prostitutes and horny kitsune who depict orgies in their most sacred places, yet they all act exactly like 21st Century Westerners! They're goddamn prudes in places! If they wanted to really go with the whole 'characters fucking other people' thing, then they could have Cait organize orgies in the town, have you find erotic idols that make you horny, have you stumble upon random kitsune fucking in the Den. WHERE'S MY KITSUNE ORGIES SAVIN? I WAS PROMISED ORGIES AND INSTEAD I GOT STUPID FAMILY DRAMA.
