More tame and less furry is automatically gonna make the game way more appealing to most. But just because something is popular doesn't mean it's not ass or mid. Just one look at the game industry as a whole is proof of that. Hell, even something like Skyrim is boring and the definition of mid but it blew up because it was baby's first RPG.
You see, you were making a point in the first half, but then you said Skyrim was boring, and now I gotta put you in your place.

That game is as old as a middle schooler, and it is still used as industry standard for immersion. Shut the f*** up

I think if anything this game had a very strong start that petered out over time. I get that's usually par for the course with most porn games, but with CoC II the fact that the main story just hasn't moved on for three years really shot it in the foot. All of the big story beats we did get in that interim like the conclusion of Etheryn's arc felt watered down and cheap in comparison to the hype it was getting.

And then you have all the other side stuff that either was pointless fluff that means nothing or just forgotten plot lines/contradictory retcons. It just feels like we were spinning around in circles for three years with nothing to show for it. I mean, as much as I've seen people comment here about how we retread the same topics or how we're "obsessed" with a game we hate, there's really nothing to talk about except when a new update drops?

While we thankfully haven't hit TiTs levels of an update being 90% bug fixes and one small scene with a rando side character, we're heading in that direction. The Agni update was the first chunk of new discussion in months thanks to the fact it made people remember who Agni is.

Aside from stuff like that... What else can we discuss? We all know better than to buy into whatever flavor of the month they're hyping on discord and Savin is tight-lipped about what direction the overall story is going.
I'm a relatively new to Coc2 and these types of games in general. But I can say that it's obvious that it's a skinner box thing and that the wheels are spinning, it's not a if or maybe.
I think it was chubby that said a lot of the drop is the art and it really is because the art does hard care it. Because if you read the content by itself, it is beyond Mid. But again, that just might be bias. I have different tastes but I do know good writing when I see it.

We really end up spinning our wheels. In this thread, because there's nothing to talk about. And what we did speak of Agni, it was literally that she's trash. It's not that she's impressive now or that there's a failed potential. It's that she's garbage and that she was paid to be put in by some dude with a chicken fetish.

Is it mid though? The game undeniably has a bigger reach than the previous one, and as far porn games go, this still is one of the biggest and most reccomended ones...

I totally agree that the game isnt living up to what could have been and in many ways is a regression from the first, but the success its found couldnt have come from the name alone. People clearly told Savin they love this shit despite Savin and co being total quacks. Why?
In the beginning I would agree that the game isn't mid, I certainly enjoyed the earlier parts and I imagine most people here had something in it that made them keep playing but it is as clear as day that the quality in both writing and in characters started taking a nose dive. As for why there are still a bunch of people who keep playing this out of enjoyment I couldn't tell you, their reason is their own.

Their niche, furry customer base is happy with what they get and that's more than enough to keep the ship from sinking. I almost, almost understand them because as much as I laugh at the game I do enjoy it from time to time, but unlike them, I'm not willing to pay for the promise of something better, I know they won't deliver

The sad tale of the dragon date demo may preserve me from that foolishness

Mid ass hell. I don't say outright bad because the game functions as intended perfectly, I've never had any bugs, and the art is mostly good imo. The problem is the main parts that are the selling point are not consistently good. While there are some things I admittedly like it ultimately will never reach it's full potential. The Olivia/Tobs throwing shade at Kas thing could also apply to the game as a whole. Savin and his croniest cronies being lolcows is about the only thing that keeps any talk about this game alive.

Skyrim needs mods to survive and until fallout 4 and starfield was peak bethesda slop and I will fully die on this hill with my body face down, ass up, knees weak, arms heavy, prolapsed spaghetti.

Presumably still haven't gone through the obligatory three-hour OC-based DnD sesh to that point of the story yet.

There are many examples to use. Idk why Skyrim was chosen but eh. All I know is when that shit dropped. I was DEAD to the world! Don't call me, don't text me, I ain't trying to talk or socialize. I'm alive but for the foreseeable future, pretend I ain't. Work? Nah, that PTO mysteriously lined up immaculately with advance notice. And it released a few days before my bday too.

The stars lined up and said this shit has to happen and by God it did. I remember them days fondly.

Coc2 is not bad but I wont say it got better over time.

You can say its big by its own merits but to me it was the usual hit of ideal circumstances:
- new game from a known ip so it got a starter pack of fans to support them
- 2018 still felt like the beginnings of nsfw gaming rush to me so they get the early start bonus
- The previous points helped to make this game into a monopoly of sorts, saw several games of this type rise and die over years in the shade of Coc2

Like we can beat the dead horse more but I think at this point its remains unified with the earth on atomic level. You can only talk so long about the update when its this sparse and takes this long.
Shitposting is eternal tho.

Well, I guess you're getting fucked: Ass up, face down until that prolapse relapses.
There wouldn't be so many mods and mod development if it wasn't a peak.
One doesn't attract talent by being mid

So many hours of life simply used up in roaming the wilds of Skyrim. It felt like a fucking odyssey. You have no idea how many weeks I have spent playing that game, accumulatively. The fact that the ui disappears and the music and how it changes based on what you're doing, like nobody else was doing this shit at the time.
The main story is cliche as fuck but IT JUST WORKS. You're not here for the main story. It's just a nice piece of the meal. It's the experience.

Skyrim definitely was among the games that started the priority of gameplay over writing. I think I only ever did the whole Alduin story once, but I sure as hell roamed the land almost as if it was Morrowind despite the fast travel. Though I still can't take the Companions questline seriously, especially the "Oh! You're a werewolf!!!... Can I become one too?", not to mention some other factions. And then the mods? There are so many that you could play the game all your life and still find ways to make it interesting.

Too bad CoC2 modding won't get an official blessing.

11800 hours between Skyrim LE/SE (on Steam, the early days on disk weren't counted) and unsurprisingly, I'll echo the above comments. And it still throws up the odd new thing, and there's always new mods to add to that. Had a boomer criticize me for it the other day, my reply: "But you spend hours gardening most days, right? Why?" "Because it settles me and makes me feel good." "Right. And that is the same feeling I get playing Skyrim". They didn't have much to say after that.
