But in seriousness, idk it's just blegh. It's uninspired and takes the most mundane qualities from both sides. The most flair to it is a couple of olive branches and the color red. Idk maybe chalk it up to personal preference, but if you're going to mash together two different culture's infantries then let more of their cultures show too. Maybe don't make the shield a Germanic one, give it some real Legionary scutum shape and style. If you're going with a more Grecian helm, give it the Roman flavor not the Macedonian one.
It's a very confused design, with clear inspirations from Greece, Rome, Japan, and Germanic Tribes. It's just very... confused. That isn't to say I don't like what they were going for, any mishmash of any of the above is bound to look cool. But keep it focused, this lacks focus entirely. And now that I'm really looking at it... is he also wearing a gambeson??
Not to mention that he has leather pauldrons and bracers, but brass/bronze greaves? Like I understand having your chest be brass/bronze and your extremities being leather, but what is going on there?? And at first I was like, "Oh wait, that makes sense. You have a tall shield, so in a shield wall your shins are still good." But wrong! The shield is too short, and he's already crouching a bit.
Idk, it just makes my brain unhappy to look at basically. Not to knock DCL though, they still draw way better than I ever could lol
