I probably have a very different take on the Azzy/Lia thing than most people in the thread to be honest. I don't see joining them any different than my character bringing Gia into my relationship with Bri for that threesome. To be fair I'd probably have the same reaction that others do if Azzy was chasing a male character, but not bringing one more woman into my big pile of lesbian fun.

I feel like they could have handled it better to be honest. It should've been Liaden wanting to join in on the fun and trying to get YOUR permission instead of Azyrran making us wingman for her. What Azyrran did was, to me, the kind of thing I'd expect Cait to do, which is why I never touch her. To me it makes no difference if the character she was lusting after is male or female, it's still a weird move from the devs that they try to play as "wholesome" and "cute". It's one thing if they are already a couple to begin with which is something I wouldn't have any problems with at all. I still wouldn't bother trying to fuck any of themout of principle anyway.

This whole thing annoyed me because I could have ignored another "Cait" (not exactly as big as a slut as Cait, but you get what I mean, I hate polyamory in general) type of character. Also, I never intend to play as a female ever so there will never be any threesomes with them for me. Which leads to another problem, Liaden. Liaden is a lesbian who'll never turned on by a dick (unless you fuck up her mind with that corrupted honey, which I generally don't do despite how much her very existence annoys me). This already excludes a ton of the playerbase from her character and is almost hypocritical in design. Why? Our character, no matter what gender, no matter what gets shoved into them/they get shoved into, willingly and unwillingly, loves it without much effort or mind fuckery going on. Our sexuality is basically: YES, and we have almost no control over it. You're telling me this woman who is basically an adventurer like us, has been living in a world where most of the rape shit, sex cults, and sluttery has been happening since before even Kasyrra appeared didn't get SOME dick? Baloney. Even Arona, who prefers to fuck women has had some dick before meeting our character. I even feel the same way with Kiyoko and only male PCs getting her, but that's a whole other topic.

You're missing the part that comes out of nowhere and dialogue keeps treating Liaden as Azzy's priority over you despite everything before and we're just suppose to accept that. Also you have to be a chick to really get involved with them (or call yourself a women without making any sort of physical change).

They were never on a high horse. They stated their thoughts, weren't arrogant about it, and that's it. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, you do not have to be condescending just because you do not subscribe to their point of view. You are acting like you know them better than themselves/they are lying because they said a thing you don't agree with. Even if what they said was completely and unequivocally false, you can still have the sense to not put words in their mouth.

That's my biggest thing. Never a reason to be condescending or pretending to be better/know more than someone else. If someone states their opinion, you'll never prove that opinion wrong. Sure you can convince them to change their opinion, but opinions can never be wrong because they're never right. At the end of the day, this is a story-heavy game that asks you not to focus on the story. Which is dumb, no matter how you look at it lmao

Also "Don't like it, don't play it" is dumb when it comes to discussing sequels. If this was a new IP, it would at least make some sense because then it becomes "You're not the intended audience for this, bud." But this is a sequel, and so people who enjoyed the first one are going to express their disdain for the second one. The sequel trilogy of Star Wars wouldn't have been so hated if it wasn't standing on the shoulders of two other trilogies because there would have been no precedent for the IP. It would have been a decent, albeit a bit nonsensical, sci-fi romp through the galaxy. Instead, you got a sequel trilogy that does its best to disparage the preceding movies and characters. And fans not sticking up for what they like about an IP is how you end up with The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Wait, do people actually think that Pre-Sequel story was bad? I kinda felt like it was a great addition to the lore of the game. Sure, not all of the characters you engage with are as good as BL2, but in general I felt like it was good. I mostly heard about people being upset over it being a) it's typical borderlands, but everyone are Australian and b) How dare they imply that Vault Hunters, mercenaries that arrived to Pandora mostly to get rich, would do something morally questionable.

That actually kinda bummed me out the first time she asked me if I'd wingman for her. It was like, "Uh... What do you mean? I've been the person sparring with you, we've cuddled, hugged, and then saved your hive together?" Like it lets you get attached with zero warning lmao Feel like it would have been handled better if they did it like Our Red String did with Alyssa and Jeremy. You get your chance to be with her, and if you pass on it she doesn't just wait around for you to change your mind. It's not even that Liaden is a lesbian, like that's fine you do you. It's that Azzyran never gives you the chance to act on your feelings that she even reciprocates until you leave the Hive. And then you're just left out in the rain, because she gets a crush on the one person you're incompatible with.

That's why, after that first time, Azzy and Liaden go for a swim. Doesn't matter how pure I'm playing or how void of content the Corrupted Hive path is, because her suddenly falling in love with Liaden is just dumb.

To be fair it COULD have sense if core cleanse would take considerable time to cleanse. A character ASKING you, the player that fucks around all the time as is, upfront for help to get with someone. That you can shut down entirely should you wish and nothing ever comes of it afterwards. I'd understand if she went behind your back like, I wanna say, Amily in the first CoC. But she doesn't. It's dropped.

You're ignoring where I gave a much better way to implement their relationship. If we're basing her attraction to Liaden on that she "went out of her way to help Azzy" then should Azzy not turn to the player first, given we flat-out did far more? Then you could say "Well maybe Azzy has a type that Liaden fits," but that doesn't make sense either given that the PC can look exactly like Liaden. Given that the pair spent so little time together, Azzy should not be immediately chomping at the bit for a chance to date her since she isn't for you either. That's why I suggested it would be better to work it like Alyssa/Jeremy in ORS, you get your chance but if you don't show interest she'll turn her attention elsewhere. Otherwise any male-presenting PC is left wondering, "Why did I help her again?" Because it isn't like you get any worthwhile loot from the quest, or anything aside from an additional companion.

Assuming everyone plays the same character is the first mistake. Not everyone plays the same, banging whoever they can. An example being when I played CoC1 as a paladin and only ever slept with Amily because from my character's perspective she was really one of the only pure people left. He felt that while Tel'Adre might not have been as evil as the demons, they were still far from pure. Amily goes behind your back after you go behind her back. Tit for tat and two wrongs don't make a right, but credit for having some consequences for the PC's actions. Asking someone upfront/backwards/sideways doesn't matter. It's dumb, and it's forced. It's like any bad writing, the writer did not earn this moment. Because like I said, you could be the spitting image of Liaden and Azzy will still pick her. Doesn't make sense, as they hardly know each other. You can't assume the player sleeps around (or even that Azzy knows they do) because not everyone plays the game the same way.

And I'm not even one of the people who get upset that characters can do things I wouldn't like them to do in other routes. I think it's silly for it to be upsetting if you're not currently on that route, but I can understand the perspective. Because it's "If Route X [Character] is capable of doing that, then doesn't that mean Route Y [Character] is also capable of doing that?" Then you have to metagame to justify why they wouldn't and say "Well Route Y [Character] wouldn't because that's not the route I'm on," which means kiss your immersion goodbye.

Also I forgot, people just get attached to their characters. It's literally the only reason why Kiryu from Yakuza isn't in any fighting games, his creator Toshihiro Nagoshi doesn't want to see Kiryu beating up women. He's too attached to his character to make the free money that letting his character appear in a game like Super Smash, Tekken, or Street Fighter entails.

Lets say that in a 'what if' world core cleansing would take week.
After player picked it and handled it to Sanders he, player, have no reasons to visit hive again, until core is cleansed. Yes, its still possible to visit it, but even a good games (not what we have here right now) wont be tracking it, due to complexity that it will create for a writing/writers/character progression/etc. (3 visits? It require new scene!!! 10 visits? It should make hornet disappointed. 17 visits? It should piss off Azzy for not bringing up any news, besides 'working on it'). So the only point that should be 'recorded' after taking of core, to progress story/quest, is a "bringing cleansed core back". That's why/when 'buzzing insect' would become more acquainted with the 'paladin gf'.

With the amount of bullshit going on in the game, that's the question you're asking? It's probably one of the most believable things about a character, especially a basic bitch human priestess or whatever. There's nothing wrong with lesbians i nthe game, or lesbian relationships between her and your companion. The issue is only ever with how it's done; how they meet, what content they have, what it changes for you, and obviously how it changes the companion.
Tbh I have no real idea what it even is about, as I skip over Liaden and Azzy content because I don't really care about a companion who you can't have a deeper relationship with (out of the ones that you can have, only one has any good content), that doesn't sleep around left and right on top of being 2nd-hand. I'll have to look into this because I always just skip over Liaden/Azzy bs because I have no interest in hearing of how a potential gf found herself a gf.

Also, the real problem were stale dialogues, boring characters, even slower map traversal, and LOADS of backtracking. Like, holy fuck did you need to backtrack a lot in this game. Overall it was a worse BL2 with nonexistant villains, I don't even recall one boss from it and I've played it multiple times. It's just... worse, is all.
