I wouldn't say he was poorly received more so than any writer prior to Cassidy. My point was more so that he doesn't really have any incentive to not be an asshole anymore. Even if he did change and stopped rage baiting, I would be very surprised if there wasn't a significant number of people who still hated him for his previous spite projects.

You're right. I handled this poorly from the start and I let early poor impressions of one or two people worm their way into my interactions with other people and I am sorry. I had a stated goal and I did not live up to the values that I try to instill. I will try to avoid letting my irritation get to me in the future.

Edit: If anything I say brushes you the wrong or seems off to you I will endeavor to do my best to clarify. I know that the vast majority of people here are here because they care or at least cared about the game at some point and that's what matters.

It's fair for fan writers to write what they wanna write, but it's also fair for players to complain about lackluster updates. The problem lies in a leadership that's raking in dough while simultaneously failing to provide both commensurate effort or support for their volunteer contributors that they're at this point basically profiting off of exclusively. I get why volunteer contributors might feel the need to cape for Savin and co, but you're as much a victim as any. It sucks to see a game you loved enough to contribute to languish on life support like this.

Oh, but if it helps to get the thread back to its usual shenanigans, I did go unearth my playthrough. Turns out I've done most things, the only quests left are some weird shit for the bee knight (forgot her name again) and Brienne's family thing. I did find one of Tobs' clown ass OCs though.

TOBS was an uninvolved 3rd party to the whole Helspawn fiasco far as I've seen from what's everyone said. And by the time he was anyone of importance in these games, most if not all the involved parties were likely long gone.

So again, WHY did he fucking make a spite project in FOE, and THEN in fucking COC2, aimed at people that weren't even fucking around anymore.

COC devs have been making the same game for a decade. And they should be intimately familiar with the franchise as they literally had a direct prequel.

I really don't like to bring up the "milking the game" argument. But I do see the devs looking at TiTs infinite run and going "I want perma income aswell", they know what they're doing.

I thought it was pretty obvious that they're milking this game for every penny they can. I mean for gods sake the story progression has been at a near standstill, they're adding scenes to npc's that have no plot relevance and also adding more characters that don't further the plot. Like does anyone even know how much is left of the main story, are they even a quarter of the way done with it.

I mean for gods sake the story progression has been at a near standstill, they're adding scenes to npc's that have no plot relevance and also adding more characters that don't further the plot. Like does anyone even know how much is left of the main story, are they even a quarter of the way done with it.

To be fair, none of the three games are about the main plot. They're about finding the characters that suit your kinks and seeing their scenes. I always end up advancing the plot by accident while I was just trying to sex somebody up. Genuinely couldn't tell you right now why the hell you're collecting the things in TiTS, for example. Wasn't there going to be like, chapters or something in this game? I feel like I vaguely recall that, or maybe that was just me trying to come up with a reason for there being a companion deadline... like, it's still not a good reason IMO, but at least like, there being a time-skip makes sense to have time restraints so they wouldn't have to factor in you not having X companion and then going back to get them or whatever... I just bring this up since if there are chapters, are we even out of chapter 1?

That is a fantastic question and I have no idea what was going on in his head at the time. Maybe he was younger, dumber and just doubled down on it out of stubbornness. Maybe he is really just a spiteful prick. He may even just think it's funny and not consider it a big deal. He wouldn't be the only person to write a character just to piss people off then go about business as usual.

And you are correct on Act 1 covering the Winter City and Act 2 being Khorminos.
