The shit thing is that you could do some good stuff with the kitsune if you allowed them to go through troubles that they should, by all accounts, have gone through. The story has them be basically the equivalent to colonials who were shot out of their homeland to try and colonize new lands, something that historically has almost never gone without any sort of trouble. Hell, some of the grizzlier stories I've ever read about are tied to failed colonies, what makes these furballs so special?

Unfortunately, they're literally Tobs' fluff material and therefore, not allowed to go through the trouble that would make them evolve as characters, which is probably why they've been left alone. Tobs can't exactly excuse himself into writing fuckloads for the kitsune populace, because they don't have much use to the regular player. You got almost nothing for them except, I dunno, a new sex scene that wouldn't really develop them much every now and then.

By being so tiddly widdly perfect, they're stuck eternally at where they are.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, I did join the Xianxia discord server, but I can't find the newer material. I did see a dead link, which was a bit disappointing.

This almost makes me okay with giving him more character instead of just straight to fucking Kinu. Almost. I had a few ideas for them but I need to brainstorm a bit more.

Tobs aside and inside, it's honestly less of a colony than a launchpad for incursions. The fucking portal makes it so they would only struggle if their god wills it and somehow the tree by now is so self-sufficient, they can run several industries and agriculture not just for themselves but to send wares back. Considering that they most surely did their vampire thing during and after the Godswar, it really beggars belief they weren't hunted down in the first years of exile. Hell, if Keros is supposedly so much about equivalent exchange, tie the portal access to them fulfilling quota. Give them a need to interact with outsiders on level footing. In the hands of a writer who isn't obsessed about them this setting could have so much creativity fuel, it is hard to believe it all got wasted.

The only thing protecting the kitsune is Tobs's love of them. In any other situation a roaming lunatic with a grudge, or the elves, would've torched the tree and made them flee through their portal and maybe try something else or just stay gone. They've committed several acts of war by attacking elven patrols and are constantly on the evil tanuki's shit list, so logically why has neither party attacked? They aren't hidden and there's plenty of hostile kitsune roaming who could be captured. Honestly the tree is narratively worse than a regular small village when it comes to worldbuilding.

After using best boy I wanted to use a trash waifu, the worst of them all and the High Guardian Spice girl was at the top

I think the blue one was worse since her character highlighted the weird world building and the pink one at least has a somewhat memorable design. But I do vibe with the smug image of the pink one you chose.

Give them an inch, they'll take a mile. Whenever precedent is set that's just an excuse to skew it whichever way they want. I'm not saying they never listen to the demands of their neutered fanbase, but more often than not it will be purely due to aligning with their own interests and fetishes, where the alternative is just having Savin say "no" in that epic and cool smug way of his. Did I mention how based he is when he's being smug and awesome? Love it when he sticks it to the average player hater trolls!
It's the same old song and dance of using player complaints to justify unnecessary content, or in HiveQuest's case cut it out entirely. At the end of the day what will come first is what Savin wants, followed by Tobs' and Wsan's fetishes.

This had me thinking would youvall prefer corrupting a companion character have a unique effect or would that feel restricting if you were going after certain effects?

I always felt every companion should be corruptable or replaced with someone corrupted/demonized to serve your needs. Like it should really depend on how much they trust you and how much you two been through together. Brienne will rather die then betray you if you give her the same love. Arona is pretty damn loyal so you'd have to fuck over her village to get her to turn. Kiyoko is a coin-flip because while she is a kitsune, she seems to care more about being with you than anything else. I see the corrupted champ as someone extremely complex but you can make some stupid choices that will fuck you over if you don't think it through. It's a very underdog type of evil. When or if they accept corruption their should be unique to reflect the person they were, like their primary vices/desires. Brienne main desire is simply her immense loyalty to you. Arona wants to be worthy war-chief and a legendary orc. I think she would be a war demon of some type. There will be alot of conflict if you are her sub if she gets corrupted because she'll basically start making decisions for you as her right as your alpha. She'll be much more submissive and respectful to her alpha, but it is a sub-vice. With her main one being what she desires for herself. The problem with becoming demons is that you become stubborn to the point of obsession with your desire. It rules over you and becomes you. You are much stronger than the species you were originally but at the lost of your soul. it's much harder to converse and change demons mind when it comes to their main vices, other than that they seem pretty normal, other than the heighten sex drive.

I think a corrupt playthrough would be pretty interesting if you have to chose whether you want to be corrupt or turn completely. Because each has its advantages and disadvantages, Like if you chose to go full demon would would be a monster on the battle-field but would struggle to make decisions that didn't resolve in more war/violence. If you play as corrupt, you aren't as strong and more susceptible to demonic magic, but you still have full control over your choices. Just because a demon is naturally stronger than you doesn't mean they can beat you, mind you. They may comes times where you have to remind everyone why you are the commander of demons and such.

The problem with having such characters is just how unrealistically and unlikable it makes them. Flaws are a must and same with problem and conflicts. That's why no-one really likes mary sues because they get everything and never struggle for anything. What lesson is to learn from that?

Easy. Add a route where Nakano loses to the Champ at the Wayfort, flees "in search for power", returns tainted by demonic energy that forcefully turned him into a lady. He's so blinded by revenge that he fails to realize he's been groomed to become an incubator for imps just like that blue elf bitch.

Except you have the means to reign her in through the den mother and stuff. Sky's the limit, I'm not into corruption to deliver anything more in depth, ought to leave it to the experts.
