I know this might be controversial but the kid killing thing didn't seem that bad to me within context as I don't know the characters had no connection to them so to be honest I didn't care what Gweyr did. Also lets be honest prior to the start of CoC there was a lot of killing in Mareth from the demons so I think people are a little harsh on ToBS for this particular point. Any party member being broken in front of my player character has way more impact especially in the context of quotes from ToBS from discord.

It's less about how bad it is morally/emotionally moreso than it just being bad as in it doesn't fit the tone of the game in the slightest and is just there to be edgy. TOBS could have just made them adults instead of kids and things would work exactly the same but no, need muh edge.

The killing in Mareth doesn't really hold weight because the tone for that game isn't nearly as light-hearted and even then, the game doesn't shine a huge spotlight onto it. You know it's happening but there isn't a whole quest that takes itself uber seriously about it.

You make very good points and I mostly with your post however Gweyr doesn't feel any remorse for the child murder, that itself wouldn't be a problem however when she returns to town. She stays in a nursery full of children. Mainly my children in there. I don't uncomfortable with a literal child murderer being around children, especially my own.

I'm not trying to drag this on but your comment just didn't sit right with me.

I am going to be brutally honest here and say that I don't think anyone would care either if ToBS hadn't written one disappointing conclusion after another. We would be more focused on fun sexy times with the family we meet at the start of the game that we went out of our way to reunite but got no pay off. Or how we started postive change in the kitsune den and how Nakano may not care for outsiders but is gradually changing his opinion as he respects the pc for our combat skills and bringing their leader back to us. How Kiyoko and Kinu are both loving and supportive of PC and encourage different thinking as their current stance on the outside world isn't working. Instead we get ToBS' 'masterful' lore writing thrown in our face and we hyper focus on something that really isn't that important in a porn game. None of you are wrong for thinking this though as you said in your own post a few changes to the story would have made it more satisfying so this isn't me disagreeing with anything you said.

For me personally when this is compared to the Raphael/Kinu content where the PC's daughter defends a genocidal maniac over their own father/sire I just couldn't be bothered to care about some kids I don't know. I only have so much care to give and ToBS drained it right out of me . As for the nursery I made a suggestion a while back that the tower instead of the wayfort becomes our main base and we transported it around with Gwyn looking after our kids protected in a wing of the tower that becomes the new nursery. Kind of lost interest in the whole family at this point tbh . Also this is a response to everyone replying to me.

Also thanks for the update to the content Skandranon I don't mind Alypia's content either and she does do some good scenes if you play as a herm or female PC. So I will be cautiously optimistic about what is to come. Also any ETA on the male Kiyoko husbando?

While I don't feel the same about everything you say what you wrote is certainly all fair & square. Certainly your description of your fading interest in those aspects of the game resonate with myself.

Something that I just realized after all this time. If Wraiths and worse things can take advantage of open portals between worlds. Why hasn't Mareth/Ingnam been overrun? Ingnam sends sacrifices consistently, and the Champion of Ingnam's base is around an active portal, I vaguely remember Mallach refusing to open a portal to save Cait's sister because he says it's dangerous and Kassyra's portal immediately attracted the Abyssal Thing's attention. Meanwhile the CoC1 Champion can sleep and fuck by the light of the portal.

Ah, the plot hole, a constant companion in this game. Best not to think about them, just bottle them up and let them out when your frustration gets too high.
In short, the answer is "They didn't think about it." Longer, the thing to remember is that this is only called Corruption of Champions II, to piggyback of the first game's good will, save Kas there is nothing to tie the two together and none of the rules are the same.

Yeah she made a portal but If I remember correctly, the one in COC was something of an unique design, especially in how it focused on it was constantly emitting a light. I guess that it could be because how it was made, the one in COC was a completely designed and made tunnel while the ones in COC 2 is kind of like the summoner randomly digging a hole into the landscape, with little to no idea about what's in the middle or on the other side.

From what I understand, normal portals go from point A to point B. When the Savarra mages managed to make a portal, they didn't actually make a destination. It went to basically nowhere, where the wraiths came from, and now the wraiths are basically constantly beating on the door to get back in.

I don't think Wraiths can get into any portal, anywhere, I think specifically the mages pre-Godswar screwed the veil around Savarra so its always dangerous.

F.o.e had portals too and travel between worlds was common till they just closed. Seems if they aren't forced open or are "natural" then they can stick around and not attract attention. Then again I think a questline in that game was about opening a new portal for you and stopping a proto kas so foe might be dubious canon at this point. Wraiths and cosmic horrors like them weren't an idea when coc1 and foe were around so the threat with world-hopping was only demon hordes and corruption.

It was where the salt mining started. His reaction to people so disliking his burrow was epic. Much like the kitsune den people wanted to burn it to the ground after genociding the rabbits. And thus the fall. I don't have any hard proof but I definitely suspect that is at least part of what killed Alder's drive on making the game letting it die.
