That's just not true at all. I already pointed out that Gore option doesn't replace any pre-existing content.
Your argument would have held some power if Gore was subsuming everything, turning Mareth into Fortress of Khorne.
But it doesn't. It just gives you an option to kill certain enemies/npcs, and not even that many have a gore option in the first place.

I just find funny how different the tone is from CoC2 to CoC2, even with a gore option is still quite extreme content, something that no way in hell you could get now


There's a bit of creativity there about reducing them to their basic traits and twist them to the point of self hatred, something that should be explored more into Kasyrra's lover path and the importance of motherhood beyond her soul research, a need that her demonic powers can't fulfill and that should be the core of many demonic interactions, but not like Tobs did with corrupted Drifa, that was just dumb and edgy for no reason

At the end of the day, being a demon isn't seen as something really bad within this game, so there isn't a big push to avoid it. Instead, if we could witness that in any character, the acknowledge that giving part of themselves didn't make anything better, that after the high of corruption they are at the same low point unlike imps and the like that just lack the intelligence to understand the truth behind those deals, that every single one of them is a scam, then yeah, I would care about not becoming a demon, I would feel sorry for them but nope, that doesn't happen, the tone doesn't shift and now instead of cute maybe slutty gf you have slutty somewhat edgy gf, recolored

I'm not sure any of the writers could do that, even the womb thing is like a fucking joke to me because of how extreme it is and it isn't like you can do stuff with necro or another niche content look good but that's hard work, maybe they think the same and that's why something that should be presented as absolute evil like the baby imp factory feels so shallow

The Writers don't get it and aren't skilled enough to express something like that without getting in their way.

Now, if we were twisting personalities and their core motivations, I'd be down.

I was just spitballing, but I agree, I like their personalities getting twisted, corrupted, some might say, but I don't see much physical stuff in a game about transformations. I'm not against them getting gothy, but all the bad guys seem to get physical enhancements, even when they don't go full demon, and the good NPCs just kind of get a goth makeover.

But I also thought of Hawkthorne. Last time I played there weren't really ways to corrupt it beyond the temple. It's the most prudish part of the game, so it'd be fun to get them to loosen up a bit.
