Oh boy. Ok. So in the shortest and not most detailed way I can make it:

Savin started on the first CoC with a character called Helia. She was very popular and while he didn't follow through on all promised content she was still very well liked. He became friends with the creator Fen. Savin has several chips on his shoulder from this period that he still carries to this day. After the failing of a spiritual CoC successor called Fall of Eden, Savin decided to make a full on 'sequel'. To compress the stuff down Savin has brought on people like Tobs who is equally as toxic and has proceeded to be a failure of a team lead. He's run off writers, focuses content solely on his specific fetishes, has an inflated view of his writing and world building, gutted content, claims ownership of anything people submit that gets in game, left various content in a state of limbo he deems complete, is a performative ally who fetishizes groups he allegedly supports, is difficult to work with, and is using the name recognition to profit. There's a lot more and I'm leaving out details for the sake of brevity but the short version is Savin is a toxic dumbass who read a webcomic about the demon queen yuri after playing DnD with his friends and decided he to make a game about it where he can stuff futadom and netorase content in it with his friends. He then slapped the name of his friend's successful first game to profit off of name recognition.

There's a lot more and some details left out and I don't know everything. K1ng_C00mer has mentioned some details as well and honestly one could fill numerous pages of a document detailing all the drama from Helia to now. I'm probably doing a disservice by compressing it but real talk, I'd make Tobs blush at the word count if I wrote out just what I know and remember and my ADHD brain would commit die if I tried.

CoC 1! You have Greta, the pink succubus seamstress at the Bazaar, with massive tits, and the text is always going on about the heft, weightiness, and momentum they have. They're actively a factor of her movement. Of all characters, she is one that definitely breasted boobily across the room.
And the milk slave from the desert temple, too. Her breasts are so big it renders her generally immobile and requiring attendants to assist her with things. It also makes her retarded—in a literal sense, her intelligence is inverse to her cup size and she gets smarter if you shrink them—but that's a different matter entirely.

I still strongly believe A-DD is ideal range. I don't like the excessive and extravagant stuff. But I can appreciate someone willing to put the legwork to always account for it. You will not have a normal life with tits as big as the rest of you.

Mostly poor handling of trans characters, fetishizing them, using fetishistic and historically derogatory language and downplaying it, and giving chaser vibes. How heinous is probably subjective but speaking as a real life transwoman, he's a walking red flag and I don't think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. While I don't know him personally, his content and takes give me a bad view of him. His default seems to be canine adjacent monstergirl with red hair, muscles, a submissive streak, and a futa classification but usually declared as being transfem (which if you're lurking Savin that's two different things). The CoC2 version is the kitsune Hana.

He does really love futa though. Like it's the primary focus instead of any other content. Like Futadom World has less futa characters than this game by now probably.

A good question. They're friends and for reasons no one but Fen knows, he trusts Savin. Fen let him have a lot of involvement in CoC1 and TiTS and has made Savin the official, but not really practicing it seems, team lead for TiTS after The Fuckening. I doubt Fen fully cares about the CoC IP and has chaser vibes himself. Either Fen is indifferent to what Savin does or is the same and just not as petty and outspoken as Savin.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it already on Java? I'm not sure about encoding or TiTS modding but the game is on some weird compressed parser spaghetti code that requires translation. I don't know if his coding team would go along with it but Savin is absolutely petty enough to do something if he gets mad enough.

Don't know where you got "lowish" reviews on Steam from since it's been "Very Positive" for years and currently at 91% of 1500+. It's mixed with like 60% of 15 reviews RECENTLY and it's low HERE but it's never been "lowish" I'm pretty sure.

And yet people couldn't fucking help themselves but constantly bring it to his attention. They made fucking BILLBOARDS, streamed themselves getting world's 1st raids with mods on, the whole shebang.

I mean, Fen isn't exactly the saint people like to paint him as. Like I said once in a comment long ago, a lot of the good parts of CoC were usually thanks to the fact Fen and crew were inexperienced and more likely to listen to input and criticism. Then around when Trials in Tainted Space came along, they took the "My way or the highway" approach to things which leads us to today.

Like with Fen specifically, it really does feel like he and Savin are cut from the same cloth, especially when it comes to the chaser mentality CrimsonSongbird1982 here was mentioning. He is married to a transwoman, and like Savin, there's no magic bullet to really say Fen fetishizes his own wife, though this my reaction whenever I see him use her as an excuse, like last November:

I admit I had a huge urge to rub this in their faces, but I held back, I wouldn't be surprised if they made programming difficult in some way just to get in the way of modding.

Given where it's coming from, there's a chance it'd end up easier to mod from them fucking around with the code. I think it's more likely that they won't.

Brother, I've seen people on this exact forum complain about how everything went to shit when Fen gave the reins to Savin. Which one, ignores that CoC II was always Savin's baby. Two, just look at how fuck all was added to TiTs for like five years before Fen finally said fuck it and gave control of it to Savin. And three, as you said, Fen's just as much of a shithead as Savin is, the only difference is his coom fried brain doesn't get bored with an IP or idea within a matter of weeks and he managed to bumble his way into gold with the original CoC, which earned him a lot of cred and goodwill that he's been burning through ever since.

Still, even when I've looked at Japanese media, I've managed to dodge all that. I think Sadako in The Ring Virus novels was like 15. Older in some adaptations, like the live-action ones. Don't quote me on that one, it's been a long time. Not sure her age in the manga.

I think people grow and change, skills develop, and maturing always happens no matter how old you already are. However, CoC1 went to shit way earlier. Fen was making things up as he went along, making bad code, having poor quality control on what gets in, and even forgot his own lore. I think Urta is horrendous. And he leaned hard into the demands of donations and truly appalling furry OCs. As Fenoxo improved at his craft, he sunk into an echochamber that stunted things and pushed him in hazardous directions.
Maybe if anything was where it all went to shit, it was when he ignored massive votes for a new piece of content to, instead, make Urta's Fertility Quest.
A quest that decided Urta is amazing and uber special, literally god. His futa OC's penis was literally god. (and freeing her from the curse was worth as many points to get "the good ending" as keeping Marae pure)
I'd respect the "I'mma go my own way" style if his own way didn't suck so much.

I don't see him as something spectacularly horrible. I just think he's some dude. Bit of a cockhead in some ways, probably pretty normal in others. I don't know him. But gods above, I don't see how a person can idolize him.
