Patreon doesn't burn donators, they burn creators. It's "Oh I see you have a huge following letting you do art for a living but on this random social media page you have been found guilty of wrongthink so can no longer get money here." The toxic business model of milking paypigs is totally on people like Savin, Patreon just enables it.

If the game was in a nonsense state Subverse (despite the funding that game got) then yeah sure. But, they're paying for the development. It's getting developed. TiTS potentially dragging it's heel I'll be derisive about sure but, people are getting exactly what they wanted.

And it's not like they aren't 'trying' on either. Opinions can vary on the worthiness of said updates but you can't say they aren't happening. And if at a point they settle to slower, larger updates, (like a good amount of the other text based games on the market that just crap out 90 words every 3 months from 1 person), then fair game, I say.

Just because people are paying into a broken system does not mean it's a good thing. People chose to pay into scams all the time, that does no make them legitimate.

Thing is that the devs are taking advantage of coomers and other people that just like the game and instead of delivering a finished product they choose to milk them dry.Its a scam and the fact that it works doesnt make it better.

It's not like they have big companies backing them up and paying them salaries, most porn game makers are random dudes writing smut in their attics.
I do agree that some devs abuse the trust of their fanbases, but it's the system that allows for the biggest number of people to work on their own projects.

Sure. But this game isn't sparsely updated enough to be scam status. This is hardly the Cloud Meadow of text based porn games.

Look, I get the point you're trying to pitch. Especially with how mediocre the last batch of patches have been. But they're still 'trying'. And that's what you're paying for. There's another game (don't ask) that I keep track of where the main story on both routes are finished, the dev is actively working on another game, and people still vote for adding and fleshing out the first game.

Though if we're going to be real honest the method this game is being structured (where basically everybody is only ever writing to be paid out by the man who controls the pot and therefore are incentivized to not fix anything nor go above and beyond because they're not getting paid for it) really is just a scam.

I think something like Kickstarter would be a better fit, even though that company is just as scummy as Patreon. That way they don't need to front the resources to make a game themselves but they also only get what's fronted and need to put up or shut up instead of bleeding the gullible dry.

This. At the end of the day there's a lot of shit I can personally get over or look past with CoC2, but this is the one thing that makes me annoyed every single time I think about it with this game.

Perfect example of it on the latest coc post. Someone's asking for more Byvernia content, and gets a "hopefully the writer comes back." I can picture the shrug that came with it. I'm jealous of the timeline that has the CoC devs functioning as an actual team and trying to develop a fleshed out game instead of the hodgepodge mess we currently have. I bet the pigs fly there too

I am going to be honest at a certain point you just have to ask yourself why to still bother with this game. I don't really watch it to any great degree and occasionally play when some new scenes that I might like or I am interested in get added. I don't give them money since a lot of the content isn't for me or what I like to see. plus there are other games that I can play intensely and enjoy on the market. I can't tell if the negativity here is the type that people know they can do better but keep failing or people who simply just dislike what is going with this game and the lies/bullshit of Savin and some of the other writers

For me this is just one game of many I keep track of, mainly because I like what it could be and some of the writing I do actually enjoy. But I also absolutely dislike Savin's bullshit and have since CoC1.

I don't hate TOBs or his walls of text, but I just think he has a lot of weird ass decisions. Like MCs like first 6 kids with Kiyoko all have names and I'm pretty sure like at least 4 of them have actual personalities but iirc the MC hasn't even acknowledged any of them sans Kinu obviously. Like if you just took every random Kinu perspective encounter in the den and replaced them with randomly encountering one of your children in the wild it might have been pretty fun.

Tldr; Fuck TOBS, Mitra mogs fox family, and let me leave Kiyoko for Hotaru you fucking hack.
