Tobs is generally a long-winded writer to the point of parody and, speaking as someone who's tapped out on his material, he's kinda one of the reasons I don't bother with retrying the game. It's a slog.

Most of this was inspired by the sentiment that "the mod will fix it". We had one, it didn't do anything.

eh? their official explicit policy is that if you want modding for coc2 you are a pedophile and shitty writer.
Because anyone else can just submit content to them, and so long as it is not shit or pedophilia they will add it to the game.

and they have specifically tried to program it to be harder to mod.

also, their real reason for hating mods is that mods for coc1 did things to their sacred cows they were unable to stomach. like turning the tables on their domme self insert or dedicking their futa self insert.

You can still mod the game as of now, if you didn't notice by that one user that has a massive hate boner for Wsan so they didn't really put anything to hamper modding efforts. The closest they've done is consider your save file corrupted if you use a save editor.

You can't mod stuff in because you can just submit content (which if approved will become property of Savin ). If the content you submitted was rejected it can only be because:
1) You absolutely suck
2) Your OC doesn't fit in the world where our OC's frolic
3) You're probably doing something illegal

If anything, that there's so little interest in modding the game or otherwise adding content outside of what the devs approve from submissions, kinda shows how bad most people see the game to be

Yeah, the longer I stay here the more I'm starting to believe that people lack interest in modding CoC2 (or CoC2 in general), instead of Sav & Co. putting technical roadblocks in the code as the cause of the games' lack of mods.

Oh that is absolutely true, you have the absolute coding trashpile that is rack 2 but it still had someone passionate enough to make rack 2 reinvented that fixed/enhanced the base game.

Looking at the earlier poll the audience seems to have slowly changed into the usual monster girl game fanbase but with added cocks, the guys who like corruption and heavy modification fucked off early after years of no content for them and the fact that some writers straight up admitted that they dont like writing corruption content so theres not even a chance of that in the future.

Some games release all the stuff that they use in house to create content in order to make modding easier, like baldurs gate 3, so yes this partly on Savin & Co.

It's not necessarily lack of interest, but until there are tools and documentation to mod coc2 it's just not gonna happen. Renpy and daz are incredibly popular these days because of how easy it is to get started, having a low entry barrier is key to fanmade content.

No. The only thing they didn't do is make the game easily moddable because they didn't like that some mods existed. There's a difference between making additional tools to aid in modability and making a game more difficult to mod. The game IS moddable and had a mod.

The one mod that existed that had content, Drifa was added to the game nearly half a year before she ended up in CoC2 proper. The ability has always been there, nobody has cared to work on it and the short-lived modding scene died (partially as a result of not many people have the skillset necessary to work on it to begin with).

This isn't going to be a CoC1 situation where the writers already existed and so they just kept going after the game was... finished.

Nobody is waiting for a proper time. Nobody wants to "fix" the game at all.

as somone with the knowhow to mod the game, the biggest thing is motivation and developing some kind of plan. For me besides the fact that whenever I do mod its mostly for gay furry or cheaty reasons many of my modding sessions go like this:

I download then I mod then I goon then I delete.

The furry in me wants to turn the kitsunes into actual level 3-4 furries, while the rest of me wants to burn that damn place to the ground because of the emotional connection to fucking kinu.

Instead of going into autistic tyrade I may attempt to make patch for the bag quest where Lady Evergreen after a mysterious buzzing sensation finds her entire bag of dicks up her own ass making it so that you never need to visit the kitsunes until very late in the game, and even then it may be totally optional depending on how the flags work.

If my ass gets the motivation I will share the general patch code here and where to approximately apply it.

....I can confirm that can somtimes help but it does also have the same kind of effect as writing/coding drunk. Once the bonus runs out you are regularly left with a giant unmanageable mess of jibberish.

Brother, we've already been through this. You must've lost your goddamn mind if you think a japanese studio has hired Tobs. Especially when the only connection you're basing it off is both games having a foxgirl named Kinu. Let me remind you that Tobs didn't have any original or creative reason for naming her Kinu, he just based her off a foxgirl with the same name from a Fire Emblem game. Whoever is the writer for that jrpg studio did a similar thing. Unless you have better evidence than "Look, Kinu!", you should lay off the copium tank.
