Wait, wait. I thought it was just Kinu, no way they're getting a shitsune village, that's taking the piss.

Elin has two kitsune races, Mifu and Nefu. They have their own villages and there is (of course) a trickster deity. I'm pretty certain TOBS hasn't literally written anything for them, just paid (who knows how much money) to be able to get one of the kitsune races in and for Kinu to be in-game. I think Jstar paid for the other kitsune race.

Besides it not making any sense to me because these races leave no trace in Elona while Elin is a prequel, it's not a 1:1 import, and if I wasn't on the Elin discord and Kinu didn't exist I wouldn't have guessed the origin of the races.

I'm pretty ambivalent about TOBS but I can't help but feel you've got a rage boner going on lol. Anyhow, thanks for sharing the source of info. It did provide a fair bit of insight on the extent TOBS is influencing the game.

"Also, it's important to remember that it's all unofficial; the actual background setting is decided by noa." (In regards to the backer notes not referring to the gameplay niche the race/deity fulfill.)

"To be honest, I don't know very much about Yufu. I wanted to be surprised when that part of the setting is revealed, so I decided not to ask noa about the details." (It seems noa is completely willing to add stuff about the kitsune without discussing it with the backers.)

Noa definitely seems to have a lot of control over it. o(￣▽￣)ｄ

Thank you for sacrificing your time and sanity to read those notes. SO essentially tobs has done nothing more than write his own fanfic that has no bearing on the game, and pay for kitsunes as a race, a village of them, and then I guess their god, be added in correct?

The new super-flexible backgrounds ontop of making character-building easier are very hilarious when you stop and think about it:

In regards to the kitsune races in Elin, I certainly think not purchasing the game due to the origins of them being added is overdramatic. Noa appears to have a large amount of control over backer races, especially in terms of the story. I'm pretty happy to be able to play as a kitsune in Elin. I'll shut my yapping mouth about it now hopefully so the thread goes back on track with the actual game it's made for lol.

I still think it sucks that we don't have a proper Naga/Lamia race in CoCII.

And no, Salamanders don't count.
I'm talking about a race with the same likeness as Nareva, like the Veparii.
But with substantial amount of content, like transformatives and more than a couple of characters.

Savin hates customization so you will never become a centaur or a lamia, or anything except a bipedal humanoid.
That's an official statement from Savin himself by the way. They will never add centaur or lamia tfs. And if they could, they'd make it impossible for players to have wings as well.
