ngl i put a decent amount of effort into azy only to have my balls kicked in by some random character who I will be honest doesnt feel important at all.This makes me want to start a Liaden rant. Holy moly do I hate that shitty excuse of a character.

Everything about her, is just stupid. From the idea to the execution, there was either zero thought put into it or they just didn't care.
Let's start at the beginning.
You meet Azzy, you get to know her to bone her (a rarity for a Coc2 characters these days), you do her quest, free the hive. Liaden helps you. Everything is going great.
But suddenly boom, you return home and have to find out Azzy is poly and suddenly wants to bang Liaden.
First of all, why suckerpunch the player like this? I know Savin loves poly, but newsflash, Savin, most of the population doesn't.
Atleast with Cait he had the decency to warn you beforehand.
But ok you recover from that suckerpunch and now have two "options":
Option A:
Tell her you won't help her getting together with Liaden. Now you lose tons off "Azzy" content and the game tries to make you feel bad for being an ass about it. Whatever.
Option B:
You help Liaden and Azzy get together. Great. Just one tiny little problem. Liaden is a lesbian. She won't bang dudes.
Why? Nobody knows. Skows self-insert maybe? I don't know. What I do know is that you are now still locked out of all Azzy Liaden content, even if you wanted a "poly" relationship.
All of Azzy's CGs? Gone. Her holiday event? Gone.(Actually you meet Liaden on the way to Azzy and she will tell you about how she is going to suprise Azzy alone, thanks Savin, great christmas event). And that's only the stuff I remember.

If I had to guess on the matchmaker bit, it's their way to hide a trigger on whether you want to see someone else's fanfic, featuring an OC that just grew from the ground the other day, or just want to move on.
As for the kitsune, yeah. They open up for anything but when grandma decides to try it out, it's the fucking apocalypse. Literally.

Reading the hate about Liaden makes we want to chime in again because fuck what they did with the High Ground quest.
When it comes down to it, its pretty cool actually. Fight against a demon together with your friends or defeat him in epic single combat to prove your worth and claim the Dawnsword for yourself....except they manage to sour it, how you ask? the answer is simple. The whole quest has the vibes of "oh, you got the Dawnsword pc? i was hopingbland character Liaden was the one to get it, but it's totally fine you're the one who did, haha, but actually is it? yeah totally haha". The way the characters act, and talk about the situation and what happens is simply infuriating because they're really trying to make you feel bad for not letting boring character have it. Don't even get me started on Azy being all happy about her precious little trash can getting the sword and not giving a shit about the pc, or even be extra happy if the pc gave it up for her. Tbf though, im not sure if that part is still in the game and everything feels a bit better if you're in a relationship with both of them (which i will never to again).

First, Berwyn is not a companion anymore.
Second, Brienne is a very unique case.
Third, you didn't mention a billion futafication expansions for female characters because it hurts your narrative.

It's pretty obvious what's going on. Strawmanning is Savin and friends' numero uno argument. Oh you don't like this character that's a modern day lesbian inserted into this fantasy world? You obviously are just a misogynist who's seething about "Fucking dykes!11!" in their games. You don't like futadom #69420? You obviously just want to bitch and moan and have the game only cater to straight men.
It's hilarious how fucking willfully ignorant you have to be to seriously believe this shit. Don't feed me "ItS OpTioNAL iTs AvoIDablE!11" line either, because firstly, it still takes time and effort on the writers to write and code this stuff in. Secondly, this compromises a large part of content that's otherwise walled off from the player. Thirdly, no one has an issue with characters being for one sexuality or kink, it's when it's something like suddenly shoving a menage a trois onto us where one partner is explicitly into one type of gender. The writers have neither the ability or will to explore this sort of scenario in a manner it deserves.
And you know, I recall hearing a lot of players who play female champs and they always say how much a disappointment Kiyoko is, because without doing her preg content, she's just there. Hmm... Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Sounds a lot like a certain someone who's been the subject of this whole discussion...
I never once jumped at them with "Well, she's not for you, chud! Stop imposing yourself onto her preferences!" I do think it's a flaw that Kiyoko isn't catered better to female champs. And you know... She's a fictional character. I've seen people write fanfics where she cheats on her husband, has sex with a wolf, etc. And while I think those are certainly out of character for her, I'm not going to blow up on the author's DMs about how dare they write this character this way.
It's the same tired shit from the very beginning of this game's development. People ascribing actual feelings to fictional characters like they're real people. "The game's not about you, you don't own these characters" "It's unfair for the champ to have multiple lovers and expect the NPCs to be exclusive" "This character you loved is now retconned with new traits, you better like it or else you're a dehumanizing piece of shit" But we're the schizos for complaining about it.
Oh, and for the record I do like Evelyn. My favorite type of women are strong "girlboss" women. From Morgan Le Fay from Fate, Kiryuin Satsuki from Kill La Kill, Makima from Chainsaw Man, all the way to Heather Chandler from Heathers. It's always been my favorite archetype. Before anyone gets the idea I'm just a woman hating asshole who wants to control these poor NPCs because I'm an incel or some shit.
