They would go into edgelord territory because they don't have the ability to write a proper dark scene. Remember, sincerity and quality are the difference between edgy and dark.

Idk if he gets bad rep for one time pregnancies. Rather for the whole Kinu situation, his inflated word count and the Kitsune not being the most welcoming folk. Kitsune are pretty controversial in that part, either you love them or hate them.

And he seems kinda arrogant? I haven't interracted much with him but reading past interactions and some "takes" from him is headache inducing. Or just go to the forums and see his past salt mining. It's embarrassing honestly.

I wouldn't get too hung up on nuance. Something simple can be good. This is a porn game after all. Even outside of porn, sometimes you just need an excuse to go punch the antagonist.
Lethice was just the big bad demon queen corrupting the world. The interesting aspect of coc wasn't the villains, it was corruption itself. The natural flora turn into what it is, the inhabitants become hyper sexual, demons waltz about, and there's tons of mutations on everybody and everything. More than a few people were corrupted in various ways and their personal struggle was coping with their affliction.

Hmm. Hard to compare that kind of environment to CoC2 though. The villains still aren't very complex and corruption was virtually eradicated as a concept.

It was interesting, a bit one-note, but corruption being explored through how each character interacts with it kept it fresh. U r right tho corruption is straight gone and watered down.

Well sincerity is the thing they don't have, even the unsettling parts are tinted with "wow this could be hot" and that kills a lot of tension necessary to make you care about stuff
