Well this was in my earlier days on the site. Back when I was still young, innocent, and not knowing what the hell be in some of these games. Ah, I remember it like it was only middleish of last year.... because it was.

I knew very little about porn games. Outside of flash and maybe a smaller game here and there. Finding this website was like opening Pandora's Gooning Box. I came into this place with a twinkle in my eye, hands in my pants, and a naive sense of wonder. Didn't even know porn games were this big, popular, and numerous. The biggest problem with Roundscape is that they made it with both male and female PC. At a certain point they just defaulted to voyeur scenes I think so they didn't have to commission 2 different scenes for the MC. From super ancient dating simulators and VNs (yes, the two were different genres in the past), to NTRPGs, to actual strategy games, to even further beyond with immortal legends like "Fate/stay night" (which, surprise surprise, had stuff like "Unavoidable Heroine Rape" in it).

But anyways, how all of that ties back to CoC2? I guess the lesson here is: CoC2's problems aren't endemic to CoC2. They didn't start with its development, and they certainly won't disappear once this game is finished (or "feature complete", as Savin likes to put it).

And it's not like the writing problems are particularly unique either. "Mediocre fantasy world with super special OCs, too much exposition, and bad pacing" is one of the oldest cliches in fantasy. Even in a porn game, "the writer's thinly disguised fetish warping the story to the point where it eclipses everything else" is still a problem.

Don't wanna go off topic... but fuck it! Roundscape was fun at 1st, then just went. to. shit. for me. Think it was because I ignored both the castle events and working on companion relationship points. Just opting to play through the game and collect the party members. But after the start of Act 2? Whenever the town gets attacked. Then me getting the points up and castle upgrades. Shit just started happening all at once. Everybody was just fucking everybody. No warning, no avoidance, walk into a room, interact with some stuff and BOOM. Event where companions/LI's just doing shit. Back to back. Not even CoC2's handling of the champs personality between writers. Hit me with that much whiplash.

Damn shit escalated that quick? I'm still in Act I but that doesn't bode well for me then, tho I am periodically checking in the Castle and while I don't like the grindy nature, it is pleasing to an extent. NGL tho the whole headlong into sluttery is garring asf.
