Species where this happens usually have methods for horizontal gene transfer (recombination), which protects them from those issues.
Its been a couple yrs for me too but I remember the ending vividly. Its a "life goes on" ending. He completes the cycle from the guy who brought him up from his low point to helping someone else at their low point, his mentor/bigbro graduates from the street lvl to professional, his friend is in jail/rehab as he should be. Not everything needs to end in sugar, sometimes a coffee ending is nice too. Something to sober u up.

So, the easiest and the most braindead method - is simply renaming and/or replacing the busts and/or CGs in the bitmaps folder.
