If Evelyn wasn't in Hawkethorne or Orlaith (Wsan will remember you eventually girl) being just outside the town I would've been disinterested in CoC2 and just stuck with TiTS.

Giant asterisk if the content is written by SKoW though, they were able to make the concept of "Undersea Fortress filled with Shark Futas" boring.

It stuck with me because to get to Starhome you have to finish Gweyrquest 1-3.

Imagine slogging through three dungeons written by fucking Tobs just to be sorely dissapointed.

I think the whole futa thing would cause far fewer arguments if they just came out and said "this is a furry and futa focused game, most of the content will be that" instead of dangling all these other options in front of people and then not fleshing them out. I think everyone involved, both the creators and the players, would be happier if they did. Instead we're in this weird state where people are disappointed they're not getting the content they want, despite the game promising it's inclusion.

Orlaith is the best, the other two deer centaurs are also great. A bright spot in the early game. Let the trees grow and the deer babes inherit the earth. Evelyn should've replaced wasp princess after that (dumb) spear thing.

Which is a damn shame because the scenes at the end of the quest are good but everything after is just forgettable. Would probably be better if it wasn't gated behind a fucking slog of a questline meant to fellate tobs's parental issues and one of the dreaded act 2 random encounter zones.

Skow is pretty inconsistent in quality. At least with the tobs or bubble stuff it stays bad so I know to keep expectations low but Skow either makes good stuff or sinfully forgettable stuff.

I like futas too. Izma from og CoC was one of the characters I liked a lot. There was just so much dynamics in her content and autonomy in how Champ interacted with her.
But this stupid game manages to make them so same and bland and unappealing that I just can't bring myself to like any of them, except Kas (I'll explain it in short).
Most of them are copypaste futadommes, which only interactions begin and end with assraping the Chapm (regardless of Champ's gender), and the only way of not getting railroaded into getting assraped is not interacting with any of those characters in the first place. Which is like navigating a minefield, because nobody is gonna tell you which women have dicks or not (some of their busts not having a visible bulge in clothed variant is not helping either).
Biggest exception being Kasyrra. Mostly because she's a holdover from og CoC design philosophy, and allows Champ to be something more than a limp fuckhole when interacting with her. That's also part of the reason why some people (like me) go for her romance route.

A little bit of personality beyond, "I have a dick, therefore I must coom", would be nice

Maybe they don't really know how to write other kind of character and because of that they circle back between the three types that in my opinion, are most apt to describe the npcs and companions

It goes like this, your basic character has three possible outcomes, expansion through futa content, expansion through preggo content, expansion through slut content. Futa and preggo might overlap, in the same way that some sluts are also in the preggo tier, but usually, they tend to stay apart or there's a focus in one aspect way over the others

In other words, you can see what kind of horny was in mind while creating them, nothing bad till you consider that some of them are just and expression of said horny, basically, just a fetish, a kink and not a real character, and when you notice that, well, you can't unseen it, like the pixar smirk hiding a boring character after several sequels killing whatever made them good at the beginning

I mean it's not really a false narrative. Usually when futa gets brought up it's about how much content they get, not how samey they all are. Hell, you yourself didn't even mention this issue until this message and your only other input in the topic this time was:

I was praising Izma and Kas two years ago when I first joined this thread, and I am praising them now. Nothing has changed in that regard.

It's not really cherry-picking if you don't include it as a point in the first place. Not everybody has been here that long and even if they have, they're not really gonna take the time out of their day to memorize whether or not you praised Kas like 3 months ago let alone Izma which hardly ever gets brought up.

Nobody's a mind-reader and nobody cares enough(rightfully) to go back and check your post history. You have to make these things obvious and upfront in discussions. Also who is this "they" man? There isn't some "us vs them" war going on or anything.

Honestly I've learned to live with the Futa content and just walking around it. My problem was with that dude grandstanding which kinda pissed me off. Regarding the character quality this becomes a numbers issue again and the lack of any depth or character dimension is a very valid concern. The first game had less characters but they all felt more fleshed-out. Even if it wasn't the case, every NPC felt like they had their own story and unique interactions, instead of being that one [insert random race here] you fuck one time and promptly forget about.

Am I part of a minority that doesn't mind the futa content? Genuinely asking. That said It seems like the go to patch is either pregnancy or futafication of a pre-existing character or something that encourages dickening of the player so maybe that's where the fatigue comes from?

I don't mind futa, I guess my biggest gripe is the sheer amount of content you miss out on if you don't explicitly submit to the dom-only ones. I feel like there used to be more of an attempt to give them cross appeal.

Technically the first scene is with Cait now since they re-worked the intro but point taken about the disclaimers. I acknowledge the fact that a lot of content in this game won't be for me, nor should it be. I've played OG CoC, TiTs and FoE and gating content behind the player subbing was always a thing. Just feels like it picked up a lot in the fairly recent past, and not just for futas btw.

I'd say it was Lucky_l who got the ball rolling. And people screech autistically about a lot of things on this thread, futas are just a bit more relevant now because of the last updates for both games.

tl;dr futas are a micro issue, player expression and agency are the macro issue.

There was a good reason behind it. As majority of characters in original CoC were written and submitted by different authors each. So they all had more personal attention and time put into them overall.
