Actually, thinking of the Brienne Oyakodon thing has got me wondering. It's kind of insane how none of the writers on any of these games have experimented with more tame fetishes. I agree on Evelyn being useless to the plot but a great worldbuilding and lore device. Garrett really should've been a companion, Bro had his own mission and plot involvement. And he's need because all we have is Brint who passively cucks u for no reason and Quin who is just an irritating existence that I'm glad we can kill through passive-aggression.

There's a few characters that really should've gotten companion status. And others that really should've gotten chopped from the start or repurposed as a quest giver/lore building device/sexpot.
You could get rid off Agni hot chicken, Quin (tho you could just rewrite him because the connection to plot is nice), Viviane can also get kicked cause she also does nothing, Kiyoko (if not rewrite the latter half of content), and the short headless girl. I also agree that Azzy is pointless, she does nothing for and in plot, she barely reacts or adds to scenes she's in. She's a victim and then follows u around because you're cool and she loves but immediately wants to get into a lesbian relationship.....Nice

For their replacement I'd definitely add Garret, he has so many calls for adventure that it's boggling he's not in the group. Eryka cause she gets directly affected by the BBEG and goes through effects of corruption and experiencing the transition between forms so its a lot more personal than Azzy tht just sees her hive changing then sits on a log to sulk about it. Berwyn was interesting and if you cut out some stuff B did you could still work him into the story.

Bro tried too hard to write him to be the silly yet lovable and cool oaf, until you connect the dots and figure out he's Tobs' first attempt at the whole edgy self-insert thing, likely what he perceived to be "cool," at the time. Quin's a genuine sex pest and Atugia's about as interesting as a club cracker. Also, she just doesn't make sense sometimes, like the bit where she apparently has her "first time" with your PC but then proceeds to suck Arona's cock and play with her balls or smth as a dare the instant you set foot in camp. Idk what her "dynamic" is supposed to be, and apparently neither does her writer.

Azzyran was a big slap in the face and Eryka's never seeing the light of day again since her writer's MIA and nobody likes sloppy seconds.

Ultimately though none of it really matters if you're a Savco consoomer. Better off being one because otherwise you're defaulted to being an entitled loser chud. They're already shitting on forum users one day after the patch on discord for whatever reason.

She so inoffensive compared to how every other character goes out of their way to offend you -- barring the guaranteed character derailment every character gets. The amount of companions who have no relevancy and could be cut and replaced is silly.

Azyran has no relevance outside of one small dungeon, her girlfriend is more relevant despite how kinda just "there" she is usually. Brint really should've just been Brienne from the start. Quin is hard pointless and literally has no value and only has maybe slightly more relevancy than Azyran. I don't know who the phoenix is for she's so forgettable. I like Vivienne but she sorta doesn't fit as a companion even her recruitment is just giving her evil milk and her just tagging along. Kiyoko should've just been the colony's den mother from the start and an already grown Kinu should've been the kitsune companion. Atugia just sorta exists she's in the same camp of Vivienne.

Garrett really should be a companion, it's dumb that he isn't though he'd need a new writer. Daliza, Elthara, and Hethia could work well even if they'd be mid game unlocks. Though Hethia probably can't do anything unique Ryn can't already do. Shar is literally there to the potential based companion. Eryka would be a good option but only would work if Franks never comes back. And mouse thief girl should've been let in. Even Totally Not Kas would be a better option than half of what we got, especially if she maintained the disguise right up until the end and could be trolled by the player revealing they knew all along.

I was genuinely perplexed on why she was a slut out the blue after all emphasis on her being a shut in for most of her unlife. Then the fact that she a dulahan never comes into focus and when her writer finally did something it was the most nonsensical garbage that it left like a first draft. Worse part is I can see concepts in the character that could been used if the worldbuilding was solid enough to support it.
Isadora has the same problem too, supposed inexperience virgin meets u, wants u, then goes out to slut it up for no reason other than the writer wanted it even if it wasn't in character at all.

They took this romantic comedy trope about the nice girl, the nerdy girl, the girl next door, and condensed it in their depraved D&D fantasy setting, so this same fantasy girl would be a mega thot and that would be hot, you were supposed to first fall for her charm, for the way she was introduced as some clumsy tomboy and then, comes the whiplash. Garret is kind of cool but in a cringe way, he's as his best when he doesn't try that hard to be what he isn't yet, besides that the whole wolf family is a mix of some good ideas and plenty of bad ones, I think Garth works better than the rest of them because he sticks to his role and nothing more, while the wolf daughter is just there, even lower than your generic vendor you can't even take her on dates or anything like that. She's like a beta version of Kiyoko, can pump pups and takes care of your spawning pool

If I were you, I'd not expect anything. It'll be a small, optional, dirty hovel*, like siorcanna Starhome (which were added 5 years ago and promptly abandoned).
You won't even be able to find it on the map, because it doesn't fucking exist. You'll likely need to progress somewhere between beating Winter City and getting to Khor'minos, before the glorified instance teleport opens.

Funnily enough the first time I played the game years ago I gave Brint the cursed armor, did the centaur quest. I barely make it to Frosthound Brint has some dialogue I go "cool bro let me sleep to heal and level up". I leave and do the Orc quest make it back to the Frosthound Brint has another scene, me, barely living, goes "Go fuck some prostitute I need sleep". I then got distracted with some other quest then suddenly I got the best cow wife and I was very confused but I didn't complain.

Nottia teeters the line given you do the fantasy equivalent of jump starting her car but the follow up quest is good enough that I don't mind.
You don't even know Natalia and she's talking about you becoming her mate and it's basically just a yes/no prompt.

Some writers when brainstorming clearly has space for a character, what they do, their vocation, their history, and whatever event they're currently doing with no effort put in on how our PC and the character in question connect besides "Oh PC/NPC has a dick and NPC/PC wants to suck it."

I've always found it weird how CoC2 has substantially more text per character than CoC1 yet has put substantially less care into character introductions or relationships. Failing to do in twenty thousand words what older (and substantially more inexperienced) writers were capable of doing in two thousand.
