Started playing this game only recently, so not really familiar with the giant history of fandom and dev drama or what the general opinions about it are. A few quests in I've found it mostly OK, even if the writing is all over the place with almost every NPC coming in with their own guest writer and some parts being overly verbose causing my eyes to glaze over, skimming and skipping ahead. Also, the straight (dom) scenes that exist range from fine to great. However, there were a few moments in particular that actually kind of really annoyed me, with this one being the biggest offender:

It's not really about the character having preferences or whatever (although it is weird that the Sex option would even be there for male players anyway). But with how condescending this dialogue is, clearly it's supposed to be a larger message to parts of the playerbase that's complaining about not being able to romance/sex up some of the characters, which is very funny and so, so rich coming from this game that has absolutely zero respect for the player's sexual preferences or orientation.

Not only is every third NPC a futa girl with a giant horse cock (that, unlike the one random forest twink can't even be turned off as content), but some of them, afaik, require the player to be in a submissive role like with Evelyn (this one was also very annoying because you have no idea there are only submissive options until you are basically locked into the sex scene without a choice to back out) + all the battle loss scenes which I assume are also full of non-con. Or hell, the game's first few minutes have a giant demoness threatening to rape the MC with her horsecock.

I've played a decent chunk of CoC1 before starting this one up, and, while I had some issues with that game too (mainly the non-con), at least it allowed the player to wrestle for control, assume dominant roles and actually have choices to influence the NPCs. But now this wall of text is suddenly talking about setting boundaries when a few encounters ago some hornets threatened to fill me with their eggs; it just comes across as silly and hypocritical.

The heart of the issue is that Wsan goes out of his way to write Brint as a superior specimen even if you model your character to be identical or even better. If you're the same height he will always be written to be taller and more imposing. If you have the same or higher strength he is always written to be the strongest bull in the barn. If you have a bigger dick the text will always portray him as the superior sex machine regardless. What are his flaws as a character? What's more to his story? He just left home because he is cool and epic and that's about it. Oh and his dick can make any woman cream her brains out simply for the fact that he's a minotaur and has a horsecock, Cait will make sure to remind you at every chance. The previous statements were accurate in describing him as a walking cock, because there doesn't seem to be more to his character.

So I asked the question of how y'all would direct this game with the same resources and writers and programmers. But I didn't add my own take. So here it is.

- I would enable the separate hub for the "corrupt" path and pure path, but I'd phrase it more like Conquest and Unification. With the core differences being that the more demons you enslave or kill Solomon style the more powerful you are in the plot while the other is the more swear alliance to you the more influence you have. Think the difference between left hand and right hand magic.

I've barely started the game, but I actually don't mind Brint as a party member so far (though he's basically in my party by default because his knight set makes it impossible for the party to lose and also because I've only encountered three members total so far: Cait, him and the dullahan girl). At least in the early game that I'm going through right now, there's only really scenes where he joins in on dominating the defeated enemies and occasional threesomes/sharing that the player agrees to, so no issues here.

My one big complaint is with the way that his 'romance' with the (male) MC works, and it annoys me for the reasons you've stated. I'm assuming the scenes are being written in such a way that they can be reused for both male and female players, so it's just easier to make being the submissive bottom the default. And while it would be mildly annoying that the Top!MC dynamic wasn't being considered at all, I could've just ignored this part of the game and moved on. But then they actually do include a repeatable sex scene where MC tops him ("I'm always on top" my ass), but only if you've already entered into the bottom dynamic with him, so what's even the point then.
