I'd kick him or demote him to a side character. Hs character is mired in a lot of OC bullshit but for a pure route it would need that redemption route that we all have been chatting about but what needs to shock him to that point needs to be exterme since he joined before kas so he was morally black before things went full conquest mode.
Maybe he decided to cut and run when the rituals got too satanic (Guro and/or child-sacrifice). He's essentially an employee at Epstein island that got sick of seeing one too many kids get "trained".
For the Corruption route I think he should get an ironic twist where he gets the dickgirl treatment but is essentially made to be your herald. She would encourage bullshit and the spreading of corruption, overall a great companion for a corrupt run. At least that's the best I got.

I'd replace him with Aileh anyday
I like the idea of replacing him with Aileh much better. Not that I don't enjoy her constant presence in the Wayfort, but its such a waste to have her only be in the Wayfort. Also, 'daughter of the nominal big bad' is much easier to work with from a narrative standpoint than 'oops I joined a doomsday cult and accidentally went through both the basic and advanced training'

Exactly, he doesn't make any lick of sense, at least his characterization for the situation he's in. He went through all that and not once thought that shit was fucked up, to further prove that the reason why he turned a "new leaf" isn't even brought up in detail.
Aileh as the excuse of being brought up in the situation, it is literally her bread and butter. So showing her basic human decency and culture outside of the constant sexcapade that is demon society would be interesting. And convincing her to take an active role in standing against her mom would be nice.

Quinn really should've been written as a chaotic neutral character cause the only reason he's with us is because his write demanded it.

I mean I can understand why. Would require the head honcho himself. Having to admit he made something weird, and one of his prized super whore's backstory. Along with any characters attached to it, are very questionable. I mean this is a pretty fucked up world. But if there's one subject that can deflate a story, like a balloon getting hit with a 12-gauge. It's kids and sexual grooming. Cement shoes in a lake.
What zero quality control does to a motherfucker. Savin needs someone over him or an editor to catch these things, especially since he seems to think he's making a Lord of the Rings book covered in several suspicious stains.

The idea of Aileh joining purely because she thinks she's supposed to rebel against a parent and is making up for lost time is way more compelling than "I accidentally a cult and now I feel bad but not so bad that I'm completely stop doin cult shit but everyone should feel bad for me UwU".

In today's story local priestess does none of the work yet gets all of the credit and the girl more at eleven
Now to be fair, it took a lot of effort to stand in one spot and wait for her dad to help her fix the issue. Lots of willpower required to not jump in honey to quell the intrusive thoughts. She should totally be rewarded with a busty wasp gf and a lightsaber. Even though said wasp would've absolutely betrayed her cause her mommy said so.

Quin is genuinely unlikeable but he's not contradictory or full of narrative holes that need patching. I would keep the spirit of Bubs plans alive but with some tweaks. Obviously this is hypothetical, I'm not a creative, so giving it to somebody more talented would be a start.
Bubs wanted Quin to have a redemption path? Or something
Let's see...
I have it somewhere

Sure why not.

I'd casually forget all that Npc x Npc schtick Bubs wanted. I think...

Yeah we're not doing that
What else was in here...

'Quin and Atugia', 'Cait and Quin', and 'Salwah Quin quest'
Yeah we're not doing that either.
Alright
That's enough travelling down memory lane.

No yeah I'd just yeet him out of the game.
I swear to God Bubs is literally as pathetic as DSP, Chris-Chan, and several other lolcows. I just can't help but laugh at how fucking retarded ALL of his ideas are. Brother really said good characters take time to write about his own shit as if it's anything other than a self-indulgent wank sesh. Yeah man Jen and Leofric are TOOOOTALLY good characters simply because tragic backstory and unrequited feelings, I haven't EVER seen that before done by actual writers. How is a generic backstory about almost being killed by orcs and being saved and raised by some random dude relatable? How is a rabbit boy twink that joins a cult and literally mindfucks people relatable? How is a deadbeat drunk with literally no redeeming qualities relatable?

Swear to god the dude is an unrepentant narcissist. How someone like that ever got approval to be involved with the game is beyond me, even taking into consideration their piss-poor judgement.

For Quin, I think
Speaking of Quinn, how would yall rewrite this bastard? I'm genuinely puzzled on how I would fix this character, he's basically Cait but male. I'd mix aspects of Asterion's story into his since it's applicable, maybe a little han solo mixed in for good luck but not much to go on. He's got too much OC energy, you know?
With most things in this damn game, I think a near-complete rework of him would be required. Keep the 'former cultist' angle, but rework everything else. I'd use him to explore why someone might reasonably join the cult in the first place, and also show how twisted the cult can be.

Starting off, I'd have him be a random noble or someone from a wealthy family: someone used to wealth and power but not in the running for any positions of power. He joined the cult for the sex and excitement, then got cold feet when the cult started corrupting the area and he realized that this wasn't just an esoteric swingers club. His introduction would be encountering his posse of cultists, him seeing you, and then him immediately backstabbing the other cult members and helping you kill them. He then immediately drops his weapon and explains his situation, giving you the option of hearing him out and escorting him to safety, telling him to fuck off, or killing him on the spot. Importantly, no options would give you corruption, and he'd be accepting of his fate no matter what.

Personality-wise, I'd make him remorseful and kinda pathetic: a dude who grew up sheltered from the outside world, and then was smacked in the face with reality, and now he's over correcting. He wants to take down the cult, kill all demons, and try to make up for his part in helping the cult. He trusts very few people, himself the least of all, making him very easy to manipulate as he considers your perspective better than his own. His opinions would range from sensible (don't trust demons, anything trying to seduce you probably wants something) to less sensible (anyone who wants to fuck you wants your soul no matter the context, anything with horns or a tail is a demon.) This version would be very chaste, his libido having been ruined by the things he's seen the cult do and very cautious (even paranoid) about sexual matters.

In terms of character development, he'd have two major routes: anti-corruption, where you nurture his conviction and desire to make amends and help him become a genuinely good person (in which case he lets up a bit on the paranoia), or corruption, where you prey on his doubt and he slides back into being a man-whore, becoming ok with mind control and corruption so long as it's not the cult doing it, becoming like his present self.

Even the thing with Jen and Leofric I can forgive, look, if he wanted to do his take on Griffith and Casca that's fine, but man, it's so bad to the player because, why should I care?. Griffith's charm is beyond human, Leofric is legendary, but we are told that, and there's no reason to be invested on it. Leofric is not the saviour of the lands, a legendary mercenary leader that everyone either loves or fear, Leofric is a crazy man stalking the hills and punching randoms because his god said so
The problem with adding legendary characters to a game where there's an evil force just doing things is that they're either supposed to be fighting said force or are too crippled or old to do anything about it.

Sole way Leofric could have worked well while not being crippled or old was if he did try to attack the PC only to fail and, amidst cursing the PC on being some sort of evildoer to which he's told that the Champ is quite literally on a journey to defeat Tollus/Kasyrra/whatever the fuck and his damn girlfriend keeps getting in the way.

He chastises her, explains he's here for a similar reason and asks the PC to meet up when it's time for them to fight it. Meanwhile, he's off to train somewhere else.

Damn I just witnessed a murder. Starting to see similarities between this game and Rent a Girlfriend.
Quick, someone mod a beret in the game before it's too late!

This sounds great but then you'll have to rewrite the Cult to accommodate this because they don't hide what they do from their members.
You have to look at the cult like a modern-day terrorist organization or today's cults, what makes ppl join their ranks? It's not too different from cults back then but you can't play the fool card with Quinn.

I like the concept of Leofric being a Rival of sorts for the Champ. Its executon just wasn't followed up on, which is what makes it feel pointless.
The other issue is what the fuck is he supposed to do tho? It's not like they had plans for him to help or complete task that you would have had.

Great pitch. Now all we need is someone who cares enough about Quin to rewrite said content. I don't recall him having too much content to begin with so it shouldn't be as draining as trying to rewrite any of the other companions.

Have him try to use his mind rape magic on Carmen and get turned into a cute bunny girl by her for it. Fixed.

its fucking retarded given how much we do with her.
Save her mother, save her family, protect her home, get cucked at the end, but also give her dragon powers and a jewel, and pay for her gf's expedition with either money or your body so you can get this cool light saber from bootleg Maul sorry, the laser pointer belong to her gf too, but at least you went outside, so you could watch them flirt with each other some more, as you're totally into it

Her mom kind of want the champion to win so there's that, I mean, the whole dragon girl army was a present for the player, momma Kass said so

You could argue that there's two kinds of recruits, those who are forced into servitude, (basically everyone they rape into servitude), and those from a better background that offer monetary or any other kind of support, and then fit Quin there. From that perspective someone who saw the cult as an esoteric swinger club, as something other cool rich kids were doing, makes more sense

The original concept would only work with someone having a moment of self reflection that push him against his old beliefs. As I see it, only the grunts have blind faith in Tollus, we see no one as a middle position between him as his central circle, the mouse boy, goth purple arms, nameless blade and I think those were all, the rest are grunts, anyway, sometimes that works, but you have to write someone who is able to repent and with much more humility

Well kicking them in the honey pool is definitely not an evil act imo :BootyTime: a champion deserves a reward.
And by complete accident Dawnsword has the most varied decision path, even though none of it matters except for a couple scenes. Still makes no sense why she would worthy, bitch has done nothing this entire time. We all know Sanders could've gone up there and cleanse the pool.

You have to rewrite the Cult to make that work or else it'll read shitty. If there's an argument to say there are two sides to the cult then we have to work off what we've seen and they have just been choas for Tollus and degenerate activity because it feels good. No spice thrown in otherwise.
I'm sticking with making him Asterion-like or just axing him for Aileh.

Aileh is probably the only character SKOW has not fucked up and its prolly cause she's up there with Brienne and Kiyoko.

Only if you allow them to. If you tell the bee girl to drop the "please let me scissor random lesbian knight #315362" story, it just never comes to be.

I wouldn't mind it if it was both a fair fight and not just scripted bullshit (self-amusement to the bellend writer is useless to pretty much everyone besides said bellend writer to begin with and the game didn't need more efforts to piss people off) and if it didn't happen during a fucking crisis.

Oh, boo hoo, I'm A Moron fucked my annoying and obnoxious girlfriend's butthole repeatedly until she could fit the fucking Shinkansen in there after she kept stirring shit, cry me a river. How about helping on what could easily be the greatest piece of advertisement to a fucking merc in the history of their little pathetic ass-backwards world and become a literal living legend in more ways than his scatterbrained writer could come up with through defeating some goddamn uber-demons?

Either make him useful or don't bother.

I still maintain that her argument to not get fucked up is her face looking like it hit the Shinkansen Leofric's obnoxious girlfriend could shove up her ass.
