Some content has to be reviewed by certain devs, like Tobs with the kitsune stuff, though I'm not sure if his reviewed stuff has to be looked at by a second dev ever since he got his ass reemed for passing a submission that didn't meet standards and getting his review permissions essentially revoked.

Nepotism is a big part of it, too, I won't lie.

You’re not wrong about the nepotism angle, though. My stuff was getting the fast lane for a while, mostly because Tobs trusted me; but I suppose hearing that explains why everything slowed down. It’s unfortunate; I imagine he felt pressured to let Azami through to slap a bow upon the whole can of worms with Takahiro, and it blew up in his face.

As for my introduction to this place… well, thanks for the scattered kind words I’ve spotted while lurking here, and thanks for the laughs from the very unkind ones too

The game has gained followers instead of the inevitable slow decay to the bottom which you see from the projects where people actually forget they subbed. Just because we have grievances (and boy is it my guilty pleasure digging into them) doesn't mean they're absolutely right or that other people share them.

Thankfully, my based queen Weiss's only sin is that she was irrelevant in the story that's meant to delve into her own country and her relationships with her family, and the fact she was jobbing hard the entire volume. Which is the least egregious out of all the rest of the cast. And yes, I would do her, Winter, and their mother Willow all at the same time.

Oh right! My bad for mixing you for someone else that wrote Azami. I always forget that Komari's sexual content wasn't written for Tobs.

I will say, I thought you did fine job on both of your big projects. Sure, there were parts that are messy (understandable since you are probably new to writing for a game) but nothing made me go "Wow, they are letting anyone in these days." Of course, I haven't read all of your scenes since I am not really into Komari or Katya, so I am not quite sure why there is a need for overhauling the latter.

There isn’t really a need, I just wanted to add a variable in, and fix some early writing mistakes

Well, that’s not entirely true. To make a long story short (and avoid spoiling too much), the next leg of the main story quest is going to involve some very tangible aftermath for her, and I do need to account for all that in a capacity

Wait a minute... we got two writers in here! Perfect time to ask questions. So since you guys are hopefully in the know. I'm curious if anyone has mentioned anything about.... Liulfr? And on a scale of 1 to not happening.

Someone probably could write for Liufr. I am sure [he/she]'d be considered open. It would be like writing for Lyric, have to make sure you get all the pronoun parsers right, but not too hard (not like, Etheryn with alternate thickness and confidence and libido checks, and then whether they're regent or queen or caged or uncaged). The bust thing is actually the lowest priority, since their writer was very adamant to Savin about commissioning their own busts, and then never got back, so [she] is at the very bottom of the pile for getting one (unless someone just gifts one (probably two for male and female and clothed and unclothed).

What would happen if someone wanted idk.... Berwyn content but all that extra shit just lopped off. Like say someone wanted strictly female Berwyn with 1 to 2 titty options at max. And no added pickle. Would that even be allowed? Or is it one of them deals where you gotta buy the whole thing even if you only want one part?

Do you mean, you want someone to write Berwyn content, but restrict it to vag-only Berwyen, but then further restrict it to them not having the largest size breasts? Obviously that would be less work, having to worry about a dongle flopping around, but probably more work plotting out all the parser checks in the writing.

Weren't Liulfr's busts already done long ago, with some people even compiling and posting them on this thread a couple times?
And I even remember that the "forever bottom of the priority list" part was very explicitly another one of Savin's spiteful shitfits.

Only some of Liulfr's busts were finished, and the transparent, full resolution ones that were finished were never passed to staff, so they couldn't be used anyway. The expac written for them was considered way too grimdark for the game and rejected, and shortly after birbs left the community. Though a while ago he said it was because he got a boyfriend, so do with that knowledge as you will.

Regarding Berwyn, it's totally possible to only write for a specific variation of them, you just need to put a note in your doc to gate it behind specific parsers, i.e. "This is gated behind a female Berwynne with no cock" and go from there

By the time he left the project, Hugs showed up maybe once every month or two to mess with DCL and be rudely homophobic, to the point where some of the other devs were at the point where they were threatening to leave because of his behavior. Not by any means trying to strong-arm away from their own conclusions! This is what I've been told through my interactions with the devs and the community members that were there for it, since I joined the community a little bit after this all happened.


Regarding Quin's rewrites, Bubbles original plan for him was to be a spy undercover in the Cult who had access to ancient magic (the statute magic) that was also secretly a noble. The statue's original purpose was to act as a temporary Wayfort Dungeon to later rehabilitate cultists.

I felt like all of this was a bit much for a companion NPC, you know? He's essentially trying to be bunny James Bond. I don't want him to outshine the PC, I want him to have a story that the PC - should THEY decide to - can dig into and have a say in, should they decide to. The statue thing was specifically requested to be removed (which it was. I write for free and on my own time and I logically can't commit to writing a bunch of extra characters, even though it would've been super cool to have that rehabilitation stuff in Quin's story). That being said, I can understand the skepticism regarding his content going forward. I can only hope that, if interested, you'll give it a try and provide me with some honest feedback and criticism that I can use to grow as a writer.

It sounds like he was just negligent. Ruff, well I like Berwyn enough but its good that he left then. Still current (before B) feels good to interact with. Sometimes things work out for a reason. I did hear that Hugs was a bit of an asshole but based on the company that can mean a wide range of things.

Regarding the mercs, I am planning to wrap up their content, as long as I can actually get around to it between my other projects. Their original plan was to have Leofric be the next mini boss for encounters, and then end it with a small dungeon, but that wouldn't be the way I go. I am unsure if I will be allowed to write them now or if they're slated to be axed. I'll have to double check with staff before going into it more.

It would involve curing Lusamine with a talisman blessed by Lumia and helping Boomer become Salwah's understudy. Once they left the Merks, then most of them would follow, which would have the PC then going out and hunting down Leofric for a final showdown, (with the side option of temporarily recruiting Jen to help or corrupting and turning her into a demon to have her show up during the confrontation and drag him away never to be seen from again).

That doesn't sound too bad, in fact, I hope you get around to it. Don't be afraid to share your works, we got teeth around here but we don't bite unless provoked.

Out of curiosity, do you know exactly what was the material considered too grimdark?, like, alt girl Drifa being horny and suicidal or something way more evil?

I know some (who are not on this forum probably lol) may be unhappy at the idea of Quin changing so much or like me and just not into male characters, but I think the new scope and changes to Quin are a good direction. As someone who hates og Quin I actually wanna give this new version a chance before judging and what you've outlined does sound good.
