Remember how they would get special mentions in character scenes and even change how you interacted with the world and other NPCs? I can't remember exactly the last time I saw Nobles or Thieves mentioned, Charmers got literally one thing that you had to be a Mintrel-BG'd one for that was really so you could get a special item from that one girl I can't remember the name of. But that was a long time ago now and you never get any mention of your musical background most of the time otherwise.

Slowly and surely they're taking the "Role-playing" element out of the RPG acronym and with it all the flavor the game started with.

Most party based RPGs have the personal quests resolved at the final act where they may as well stick around or the personal quests are secondary and they're still invested in the main quest. But the only companion really invested in the main quest is nominally Cait. There's no real reason for Ryn to fight Kas because Kas isn't really changing people morally or ethically so Alissa being dealt with is the end of her motivation for following. I guess one could argue Ryn is either so pathetic that she feels like she has to follow us or her confidence comes with a level of codependence that makes her stick around for validation, but that's a power fantasy and would require exploring what that means for her. You can't even use the excuse of curing Alissa if kept alive because Kas obviously doesn't have a cure so that avenue is pointless, and if anything that line of reasoning would probably necessitate Ryn leaving or trying to start anti-demon research.


Kas wins because she's the lead dev's creator's pet and anytime she loses he changes the in-game reality to make her win.

As far as trap crop goes, all alraune the descend (technically) from Fera are based on nightshades, so he's based on sticky nightshade. But also sticky nightshade is a trap crop and it's scientific name literally has sissy in it. Sisymbrifolium. Tobs can't exactly excuse himself into writing fuckloads for the kitsune populace, because they don't have much use to the regular player. You got almost nothing for them except, I dunno, a new sex scene that wouldn't really develop them much every now and then.

By being so tiddly widdly perfect, they're stuck eternally at where they are.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, I did join the Xianxia discord server, but I can't find the newer material. I did see a dead link, which was a bit disappointing.

Theoretical: There are far too many parsers and variables to keep track of when writing that you would need to have a document open listing each and every one of them, and forcing writers to conform to every possibility is not feasible.

Practical: Split the workload by having the editor look out for these instances instead of depending on the writer to account for it all on top of the base material.

Reality: There is little thematic/editorial supervision because nobody wants to do it, and that's completely fine with Savin because he's such a competent project lead.

We've just been over the sheer amount of typos rolling in with each update, not to mention the ones from previous versions that are yet to be addressed, in addition to more thematic issues like out-of-setting references and euphemisms.
Parser issues are one thing but typos so blatantly pointed out by the annoying red squiggly line are surely much easier to spot when proofreading, you would think.

Tobs aside and inside, it's honestly less of a colony than a launchpad for incursions. The fucking portal makes it so they would only struggle if their god wills it and somehow the tree by now is so self-sufficient, they can run several industries and agriculture not just for themselves but to send wares back. Considering that they most surely did their vampire thing during and after the Godswar, it really beggars belief they weren't hunted down in the first years of exile. Hell, if Keros is supposedly so much about equivalent exchange, tie the portal access to them fulfilling quota. Give them a need to interact with outsiders on level footing. In the hands of a writer who isn't obsessed about them this setting could have so much creativity fuel, it is hard to believe it all got wasted.

Season six of anime Nakano, now every other seasonal anime is about Sasuke but with another name (which means nothing changed at all), Nakano has become the true champion of the world and great god of the hidden blade, meanwhile the spin off with Hitoshi is out, a slice of life about a simple farmer boy who happens to capture the heart of the goddess of farming and daughter of the barbarian champion, in this timeline Kinu has a complex relationship with her parents, the champion loves her yet doesn't understand her love for farming becase barbarians just take stuff (Hitoshi changes this in a farming related quest) and Kiyoko is cold and distant (they call her the ice princess but then she's the blade princess and everyone seems fine that that) but only because the champion is always away doing stupid things like being dirty and poor, and having sex with one of the first enemies, the slut catgirl priestess Caitrella

Half a season later the genre change and becomes a fantasy anime with harem elements, in season two Kiyoko finally becomes part of Hitoshi's harem after the champion's death, also Hitoshi becomes the new god of farming and basically, transforms in Nakano

Unfortunately, they're literally Tobs' fluff material and therefore, not allowed to go through the trouble that would make them evolve as characters, which is probably why they've been left alone. Tobs can't exactly excuse himself into writing fuckloads for the kitsune populace, because they don't have much use to the regular player. You got almost nothing for them except, I dunno, a new sex scene that wouldn't really develop them much every now and then.

By being so tiddly widdly perfect, they're stuck eternally at where they are.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, I did join the Xianxia discord server, but I can't find the newer material. I did see a dead link, which was a bit disappointing.

This almost makes me okay with giving him more character instead of just straight to fucking Kinu. Almost. I had a few ideas for them but I need to brainstorm a bit more.
