I love how this thread has gone from a salt mine over the various production issues the game has had to a discussion about the portrayal of angels in ancient Christianity/Judaism. That's the kind of shit that makes me check this site regularly XD
As far as I know, the Book of Ezekiel describes Cthulhu-monster angels, but elsewhere it's just dudes with varying numbers of wings. I believe it's Dante's Divine Comedy that spread such images of angels as the interlocking rings of eyes, flaming winged eyeballs, etc.
I think it had something to do with wording or translation? I'm not sure but I think there was something about angels not being good looking, but instead good at looking. There was some other stuff I think but this was something that stood out to me.
