The audio mixing needed work, the voices were drowned out by by everything else but otherwise that shit was great. The DLC was scummy making you pay for the ending but watching the true final boss fail his own QTEs was surprisingly hype.

Tangent ik but the earlier mentioning about how phoned in sex scenes written by Savin feel actually just made me remember that he has stated that of all the stuff to write in the game, sex scenes are stated to be the hardest to do. I can kinda remember this being a sentiment throughout the fandom there infact, not just him.

In a way, I can agree with the sentiment, there really is only so many times you can write a sex act and it not feel samey in hundreds of scenes throughout a single game and make them interesting. But at the same time, he is the guy who writes these scenes with no flair or fun to them, no intimacy, he writes the characters within as if they're actors in a bit. Very mechanical, goes from this to that and then to the end, maybe with a grin or a wink to top it off and you're done. It's probably not helped by the fact that you're having to work with an extremely malleable PC character as the (*COUGH*...supposedly) centerpiece of it all.

Sex scenes are only fun if you can make them fun. I can't really write sex stuff in my own personal fics unless I'm really in the mood either and that's with static characters I'm not needing to do parser shit with. When the idea hits though, it really will hit. But if you're treating them as something to just get done and fuck off, in a game around sex, you're already fumbling the bag in your own job.
Not to again compare to CoC1, but you perform similar sex acts in 1. Bc ofc you do, vaginal, anal, oral, very basic shit to tally. But then you'd have fun stuff like Amily's nurse roleplay (always was my fave of her scenes ngl), you have the salon where you can either get a blowjob or blow a guy in one of the gloryholes there as your "cum payment" for a damn haircut which I find rather clever now as a simple idea, you can get caught in Nancy's (Lonely drider widow (cruel wordplay pun looking at it ngl) from the Wet Bitch) web and get rubbed down and then fuck her, you have Joey from the Bazaar who iirc gives you a cum massage, so on and so forth.
It doesn't HAVE to be just "slot dick or tongue in hole, fuck, and then call it a day" or "Anal is the only scene type I will put even a little effort in." We didn't even get a good Recieving Oral scene for Cait to go with her getting eaten out until Bubble did it bc Savin didn't want to write that then. (Which reminds me that Savin also hates writing oral sex and finds it "boring", which is why he pales in comparison to Wsan and God-tier By Comparison William's oral scenes. Frankly as someone who likes oral fixation (blowjobs mainly) stuff, I find the idea of oral being boring a crime. Maybe it's boring to you bc it ain't anal as the non-vagina hole, ya troglodyte. :UUU).

Obviously I'm not saying make the sex scenes crazy every time or try to always get weird with it, but at least try to not make them feel robotic. Apparently that sort of complaint about Savin's writing goes as far back, so it says a lot that it hasn't changed. I feel even in early TiTS stuff it wasn't as plain but don't quote me on that.

Not to break into the current argument, but I figured I give a small update:
I split DriderNest into two docs, otherwise it'd push past the 100 page limit, and I also didn't want to be dropping two 100 page documents in the coders laps a week apart from each other (Refnir ended up being 91 pages). I'm writing Ihzalti's last scene atm, and then I'll be working on the last few scenes for the second part of DriderNest afterwards.

I can sympathize with the idea of writing sex to be rather difficult. I mean, I cannot do it myself so that's fair.

If someone said they checked their fridge every 2 minutes just "because they're bored", i would find the answer rather unsatisfying personally since it wouldn't really explain the weird high frequency. Like sure, it's an occupation i guess, but do you really need to do it literally every 2 minutes? Why so frequently. And why not check the pantry every 2 min too then? At least this would add some diversity to your occupation while still being in the same theme.

The whole reason why i asked here was because this specific thread's people are being weird af.

When I write whatever about the game here, even when it's a silly shitpost of a picture, I oftentimes feel that I'm having fun as opposed to the hopelessness of the fenoxo forum. Not to mention my curiosity of what the community can create.

As for fight stuff, I want a wrestling moveset. Replace repeated strikes with multiple suplexes, have Rollins' curbstomp replace a head attack, use a fork like Abdullah the Butcher to draw blood, throw Tajiri's poison mist to blind people, that sort of stuff.

Your issue is that you were openly hostile and insulting with the very first post you made here. It reveals how you didn't come for curiosity or honest, open discourse about a game you like, you just wanted to annoy people. I don't think there's a single circumstance where going to a new community and openly mocking everyone present is a good social move. You're not the first to have done this either.

You'll find that most complaints about the game here are not "this is shit and will forever be shit," but rather "look at all this lost potential, this could've been done instead." There's plenty of constructive criticism to be found. Most of the users in this thread were fans of the game at some point and had high hopes, but they were burned too many times by the game and developers, who have a long and documented history of being petty and spiteful to their playerbase.

You claim you've seen people write paragraphs upon paragraphs every day, but if that were true, you'd see plenty of genuine criticism alongside also making fun of the developers, yes, so you would understand the perspective many have here. Plus, to be fair, the devs openly mock and insult their fanbase very often, and even their own team, actively adding things to the game that will purposefully spite them. The difference between the game's forum/Discord and here is that you'll be ostracized or banned for wrongthink on their platforms, while here you can speak freely.

If you actually want an open discussion, then you can start over. New post, fresh and honest attitude, ask and/or rephrase your question again, and I'm sure there will be those willing to be patient with you despite how you've behaved so far.

The updates haven't really generated much discussion lately and Hed only seems to have gotten one day of being relevant before being forgotten. I've seen more posts and discussion about that mini dungeon's gem puzzle stumping people. Does this happen often?

Hopefully once the Act 2 dungeon is coded we can get other bigger stuff from the community writers coded and added. And as much I have my expectations lowered, I would like to be proven wrong and the Act 2 quest be good and have some good bad ends and defy the recent trend of short bad ends.

Plus maybe Tobs will shadow drop the Kinu quest end if only so we can clown it.
