You gain something in its place. Be it part of the Kitsune oversoul, filled with sunlight, or I don't know stuffed with books? Might have been worth it in the second place if you actually became a fucking Valkyrie instead of the shit Gard dropped. At least Tobs garbage makes you a Kitsune.

it's a cool concept, especially after the Convocation of Mirrors, you have this piece of an eldritch abomination from beyond the veil of reality giving you cool powers. Really is an issue of not going further with this, why not as the Divine Emissary of The August Master at the Center Of Heaven let us have access to some of his fun trickster magic or whatever abilities Lumia has and that ignoring the eldritch abomination angle, would be awesome to be able to make use of powers from beyond the fringes of this reality to smite our foes.

She and Nareva have gotten really good at creating good imitations of a soul, which they fill their Valkyries and Astrida manders with respectively.
The idea of a soulbinding is a transformation that changes your characters, locking most of the TFs, unlocking unique powers and changing how the NPCs of that faction interact with you.
Probably due to gameplay balance.
CoC2 is not a power fantasy, so they don't write the PC as becoming ridiculously overpowered. Remember that soulbinding is an option, so you have to make the game challenging for players that choose to take it and those that don't.

Savin and some of the staff plan to make a new game set in Savarra once CoC2 is done; they are saving the rest of the Seven for that project.
Her author is having issues they're working through. Once things improve, more content will come.

In Sorra's case, because one of her dominions is freedom; she'd never bound others to herself like that.
Not so sure with the others, but they seem content with having favored races and choosing champions to empower.
I totally get that, im just saying it doesnt feel like a worthy trade for your soul in my opinion. Plenty of ways to rectify that, but it's really not a problem I have, just pipe dreaming here.

I'm not in the business of memorizing mediocre lore in a mediocre porn game in an update I didn't care for that was implemented a year and a half ago.
Seems absolutely fucking stupid to me that a soul is even able to be imitated and that it has absolutely no negative side-effects for removing and replacing one, especially considering what souls mean in this universe. But whatever.
Still very much is a power fantasy even if you aren't OP gameplay-wise.
This some giga copium, especially after almost all of Will's projects got scrapped/put on indefinite hold. She hasn't been updated once besides bug fixes and minor tweaks since getting added 4 and a half years ago. Will just doesn't finish shit.

If that's your opinion, then ok. Have in count that souls in CoC2 are tackled differently than in other series; you can check the game codex on souls and spirits for more.
By the way, demons are what happens when one loses their soul and has nothing to replace that. You could say the soulbound are closer to demonkind, in a way.
