That's unfortunate. Thank you for sharing the result. I would be ready to buy and support the game on steam but only if the dev provide a way to get the full version, not a butchered one.

i agree. i guess the developer broke it when the latest game version was released, he posted in the comments on itch just a few hours ago that the patch would work on steam...

Lol forget the steam version, the 0.7a patch doesn't even work with the 0.7a version uploaded here in the OP. Launching the game after installing the patch, a message is displayed saying the patch is obsolete: "Mods loaded are out of date, please update."

Guess I'll check again later and see if the dev resolves the issue...

yes i did guess something has changed in the steam version.

This patch is compatible with every version of the game!

Copy patch file:
Windows: C:\Users\%UserProfile%\AppData\LocalLow\BoredBasmati\CorruptionTown
Linux: ~/.config/unity3D/BoredBasmati/CorruptionTown
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/BoredBasmati/CorruptionTown

If the folders are not created yet, start the game once.
You can also copy the patch file to the same folder as the executable.

Aha!!!! i figured it out. as i have most of my steam games installed to the E: drive, and not the default steam path. the restoration patch installs itself to the default location without the option to change it. after moving what was in the CorruptionTown_Data folder to the steamapps location on my E: drive. Henry popped up in the game again. that is what can happen when the person that makes the patch, uses a executable installer instead of a compressed file.
