Are they using some kind of non-standard coordinate system, or is the SFW steam version genuinely different? I can't make those directions make sense.

Okay, they're counting the top row of the actual map you can be in as 1, not the actual top row without any accessible cells. You're not missing anything, he just tells you the secret if you pester him enough, it's the bar-type shop without any goods, just rumours. He also tells you about the shrine thingy that you've probably already figured out you need to kneel in the ESP power order to get the Tomahawk for.
I'm sorry, I'm a bit stupid and I'm getting tired of hitting the air, I guess the area is after bouncing from the spiked ball and trying to go under it with the hook? could you give me a screenshot of the map before I get to the store? at least to guide me a little on the path I should follow.

My screen shotting skills are nil, at least while the button is broken on this laptop. You know that part in zeronia west where you have to kill an unusually-weak-for-the-area regular turret so you can wall jump off the wall and jump kick a spiked ball to get to the next part? Right above that turret, there is a breakable block that blocks a path that the dog form can go through; you need to go down the path far enough to respawn the turret, then jump kick off of it (you'll probably need to jump kick off the ball to reach that far) and transform into the dog mid-air to enter the tunnel. There's another breakable wall in the way eventually, but you can just star spell it away.

Overall the new Animations of freed crewmembers are nice.
I'm only disappointed about the Main Unlocks.
At the start we had an entire animation with bigbold and the werewolf, not comparable anymore for everything that came after.

It felt more rushed and we missed out on a good horse animation and more.
I hope at least that there will be a patch in the future that shows a cutscene/animation between 2 Species in the Pocket Breeder
+ the counterpart/position swap of them

Anyone figured out yet what the Pocket Breeder Thing is good for?
when you max out everyone and go back to the shop that trade your weapon he sells for free a new item, when you interact with them again they each one gives you a specific status, like more luck, or strength, the unique one are the elf and big kobold that gives psy or life regeneration, you can only chose one by time.

Correction, you only need to max out a single creature to unlock access to the item. If for some reason all you care about is the squirrel, the game will still give you the medallion.

For the last one, take of your elf thingy midair, and your hookshot will happily go right through them. For the first one, be prepared to examine all the walls and floors for breakable/digable bits

If you max out a creature's affection you can go back to the shop where you traded your weapon to get a crystal, then just pet the maxed out creature to apply a buff to the crystal. Most seem to be small stat buffs, but the Elf gives you psy regen if you stand still. Not sure if there are any others of interest as I haven't maxed them all out yet.

How do I beat the SCEA-West boss? I've been banging my head against this wall for the last hour... I've been destroying the flying triangle and killing the ghost but it doesn't seem to do anything. Am I supposed to be here right now? I've cleared SCEA-East and Central, now came here.

Hit the triangles when they're on the ground. Hitting them in the air only makes them vulnerable, not damages them.

Here's the final powerup map. I added some moneybags though I'm sure there's more. The brown shops are kobold shops, with items in brown only available if you are wearing the kobold full suit. This map also shows the secret shop in Zeronia West, accessible via a tricky divekick bounce off a wall turret/midair transform into dog form.

I also made a map showing the critical path. The critical path map assumes you have the Tomahawk weapon, since its needed to hit some switches that skip a lot of the map. This doesn't show the route to get the ship parts in the late game needed for the best ending, but that's pretty straightforward based on the part locations on the map.

A couple things I learned trying to speedrun:
-You don't need to ever go to the hangar, just collecting all the ship parts will unlock the final boss!
-You only have to enter a teleport room for it to become accessible on the overworld map, so that's why the critical path veers into them sometimes.
-The full kobold suit lets you make lava hard/destructable (as if you had used the ice cola).
-I finished just under an hour, and it was good enough for what I think is the best final screen.
-I tried skipping the boss fight for the fenfen translator since its tough, but you need it to get access to the final starkill fight.
-That boss fight is a little easier if you use the grapple hook to knock down the floating triangles.
-All ship parts are required to reach the last part of the final boss. They require lategame equipment, so it's probably best to not try to get them until after you get the spacesuit.
-I did some testing and I think that even the pause screen counts against you timewise. If you are speedrunning, it's probably best to never pause and just reset if you die.

I found a secret store under the lava in front of a hacker.
1 the kobold suit is used to freeze the lava (you don't need the drink to freeze the lava).
2 the butcher of the store doesn't sell you anything but gives you an extra code
3 the area is full of meat, more than your inventory can hold (you can farm friendship with animals or have healing items)
