What I mean is for the MC to have a good guy friend, his age, he can relate too, he can spend some guy time with (pretty much like Chang-Eternum who is a good guy friend to Orion and doesn't impose himself on his harem)
So, I kinda agree with this from a realism standpoint. I was actually playing the new content these days and that was something I thought about. It's not really realistic to come into a new town and don't form any real male friendships/relationships.
That being said: I also don't really see what it would really add to the story other then a touch of realism. (and lets be perfectly honest, the fact that the MC comes to a new city and not even 4 weeks later has multiple confirmed girlfriends as well as several more in the works, that all accept to share the MC with each other is highly unrealistic in itself.)
Aside from realism I don't really see what a male friend character would bringt to the story thats missing right now. He could maybe serve as someone trustworthy that the MC can tell things he doesn't want to talk about with the girls - but thats unecessary atleast in this particular story with our MC since he is very direct and open with the girls.
Or its a Comic-Relief character, but again, I don't feel that necessary here with the humor between the girls/the girls and MC.
Also, the friend who doesn't impose on the harem comes with its own problem - like how realistic is it that the MC has a Harem with 10 girls at once and your best friend will just be like "Yeah, thats totally fine and completely normal, no problem at all". I don't feel like
that would be realistic, so it's something you have to deal with on it's own.
With your Example Chang that for example is solved by giving him his own disctinct Love-Interest of his own to pursue basically in the first 5 minutes (who is also, most likely deliberately, designed in a specific way to not invoke jealousy in the majority of the playerbase). Or you open the Sharing-option, which comes with its own can of worms considering the very strong feelings this invokes in some players. (Or you could make the best friend Gay, but again potentially controversial)
So yeah, long text but - from a pure realism standpoint I agree that it would make sense to have a male friend but considering that the point of the game is not to be perfectly realistic considering the 10 girlfriends-harem premise thats not a big problem for me. And I don't really see what it would really add positively to the character dynamics that we already have.

And since I'm already here, might just give my general thoughts. Last played it about a year ago when it was 0.6 or 0.7 I think.
I really like the new content and how everything is developing with the Story, how the new characters are included etc. Absolutely one of the games where it's actually really fun and and enjoyable to just read for the banter and the story. I also like how the characters are all quite distinct from each other with their own storys, conflicts and interests etc.
Seeing Catherine open up a bit for example was quite nice etc.
I also just quite like the MC in general - espescially how he is generally just quite honest and communicating open and clear which avoids alot of "fake" drama stemming from people missunderstanding each other.
I also kinda like the scene with Rachels "punishment" or rather the lack thereof. Although it makes me wonder where to go with her character from here on. Personally I feel Rachel is kinda at a dead end here,s o curious to see what will happen - assuming there will be more to happen considering she is listed both in the Gallery as well as a Main characters in the bios.
So yeah, definitely looking forward to future updates and how story/characters will continue to develop from here.
