This is more or less what I was going for with the writing. The extremes of "She should be thrown in a wood chipper" and "The MC should grovel at her feet and apologise because she's a girl", while the first is completely understandable at this point, aren't how I see it. Maybe this is a little chauvinistic, but I just never took her seriously enough to rise to the level of despising her - I've always seen her more of an unpleasant nuisance possibly in need of correction.i actually felt bad for Rachel when she left the room crying. dont get me wrong i dont like her at this point in the story, but i dont think shes evil i think shes just kinda dumb. i have a hard time seeing girls cry even if theyre cunts. it humanizes them to me maybe more than it would someone else and i cant help but feel bad. reminds me that everyone has their own shit going on. i think the MC actually says something similar about hating making girls cry. Rachel isnt totally unredeemable to me but maybe im just a pussy
