Everyone will continue to ignore the obvious solution to the political dilemma - MC allies with Gilbert, Gilbert finances Bennet, they rule over the others. Understandable, considering the MC hasn't really show any actual ability for politics or for survival, even and we have no idea who the Gilbert heir is and could he work like that.
This is how I see the situation developing in the future. Right now, though, you're right in saying that Allison needs to get over her feelings before anything like this can happen
Lucy's mom causes some form of trouble, probably with the support of Russel.
Victoria's dad shows up.
I have been thinking this for a while, like no way is that the last we will see of Lucy's mom. And I agree that it will probably be with momma Russel backing her. When? I have no idea. My prediction is that it will probably happen after they graduate, MC and Hannah are getting closer and closer, the rift between Allison and her dad is on the mend, Russel gets desperate seeing the house of cards falling, so she somehow finds Lucys mom and backs her story, trying to convince papa Gilbert that MC is secretly evil. This could also be used as a way for her to sabotage MC going to culinary school, although I dont see any reason for her to do that ATM.
If lucy's mom does eventually come back, I hope we get a scene where Lucy, with her newfound confidence, tells her to fuck off.
Vickys dad has been foreshadowed so much in this VN I would honestly be upset if he didn't show up.
Oh, and two of the LIs will touch, this thread will explode.
Hahaha tried and true way to create drama on the zone is to add optional lesbian content

In this case lesbian doesn't fit. The story so far has all revolved around the MC even the punishing has turned into a way to please mc so them punishing each other does not fit. It would change the whole dynamic of the story and so far has been mainly linear. I think it will probably stay contained to group with MC.
Also the thing that sets this apart from a lot of harem games is when a girl joins the harem that is not the end they are all working to help like lucy learning to bake. It is even a plot point with Vicky thinking she does not do enough. Pure girl\girl lesbian would add nothing to the story.
Also i could be wrong but apart from some teasing in front of MC i dont thing the girls have shown much interest in each other and the only one who wanted to punish the other girls was Vicky and was more of a way to pick on Sara not in a sexual way.

Vicky's dad is what I like to call "De-blocking character". As a writer, I love introducing a couple of those, so if I write myself in to a corner or just can't plow trough a writer's block moment - I can just trigger them. It's kind of the old “when in doubt, have a man come through a door with a gun in his hand”*, except you set it up beforehand, instead of retroactively justifying his existence. As an added bonus, you can always trigger them when the story is just racing for the end and weave them in the narrative. How much of a trouble he would be is not stated so it can be anything from a major problem the MC would have to muster his resources to deal with to a relatively side-scene, where the MC just decks him or calls the police and that's it.
Now, I'm not saying that's how he is used here. But the set-up is such, that while I'm sure we will see him at some point, it can be at any time and in any way.

Compared to Lucy's mom, who we met and dealt with in very short order. Now I also don't know how exactly she can cause trouble, but I very much doubt she'll just accept defeat.

Granted, it's guaranteed to backfire, but... hey, it's one way to use her.

But hey, she could also dye her hair red, drug Lucy and Vicky and set fire to the restaurant... :D

Thats some pretty good advice, did you learn about that or come up with it? I will probably implement it into my life in one way or another. Personally, I feel like Cosy has something planned out, youre right that the setup is ambiguous, but with Vickys older brother gone right now it would be the perfect time for him to rear his probably bald head.

That's another theory, and honestly it sounds like create more drama and tumult than my idea.

As I understand it, the "lesbian" content wouldn't really be true lesbian stuff, meaning while yes, they would be engaging in that stuff, they aren't really attracted to each other in that way. As Cosy has stated, the content would only happen when MC is around, and if I had to wager a guess, I would say it would only be by his request (e.g. "Eat my cum out of her" "Vicky sit on Sarah's face while I plow her" as punishment for Sarah, or vice-versa for if Vicky needs punishment that she wouldn't enjoy so much). I assume the enjoyment the girls would get out of these scene would primarily stem from them enjoying pleasing the MC, the physical side of it secondary.

I disagree with your statement that lesbian content wouldn't fit, I think it can and will fit as long as it is implemented properly, it still has to revolve around the MC and his desires. I trust Cosy to make that content good, and even if it isnt, it will still be optional.

What I've read mostly has been those saying it wouldn't happen because anything Hannah/Allison would against Patreon TOS.. But most of the female characters wouldn't give an Incest flag.. And doesn't even need to be punishment related, even if that's what my original question was.. Like you said could easier have a girl eating cum out of another girl.. My example would be two join MC in shower, one gets filled while the other ends up eating it out.

So the quote is from Raymond Chandler and is almost 100 years old. He was criticizing the demand of audiences for constant action in detective novels, but pass 100 years and it has lost the original meaning (seems like audiences haven't changed much, tho). IIRC (been a while since I've read it) he was commenting on how - yes this approach creates action and will move the plot forward, but can easily lead to stuff not making sense and the whole story unraveling. It's essentially - throw drama to move stuff forward.
Personally I treat it as a tool - done in a smart way it can enhance a story, brute-force writers block, ensure plot twists, etc. Done badly or used too often - it destroys internal consistency, throws the plot in complete disarray, etc.

Now, in the West there might be an actual term for the "De-blocking character", but in my country there are no writing courses, so it's something I did come up with myself. It's essentially an extension of the above quote - when writing a novel and just throwing some drama to move stuff forward, you can easily go back and retroactively foreshadow said drama in one way or another (generally to pull off the "man with a gun" trope you need to justify it internally anyway, it's one of the reasons why it brute-forces trough writers block). So instead of having to go back and re-write stuff, I prefer to throw such foreshadowing from the start and use it when needed. It's an useful tool, if you aren't the sort of writer to meticulously plan everything ahead of time. Again - not something you can use again and again, but a nice ace in the sleeve.

It's a cosy story set in a restaurant - the fire-suppression system would just trigger, imo. :D

It's useful in real life too. Say you're at a party and you're not really digging the vibe just start mentioning how there's this guy that vowed revenge on you for whatever reason and then just shoot your friend a text to show up with a gun and you'll have an easy window to make your exit.

I was thinking I could start mentioning some made-up person at work all the time, create a whole character. My friend Jimmy's wife is pregnant right now, my friend Jimmy etc etc etc. Then I could use Jimmy to get out of work

It is a combination of these 3 honestly. Mostly foreshadowing I think, as most of the people will probably have some part of the future story, but could be used as a MacGuffin if (Vicky's dad) never shows up.

Foreshadowing – a plot device where what is to come is hinted at, to arouse interest or to guard against disappointment
MacGuffin – a plot motivator that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself
Chekhov's Gun - is a narrative principle emphasizing that every element in a story be necessary, while irrelevant elements should be removed

For anyone wanting to drop Cosy some support the new release has just dropped.

Hey guys!

0.12 Is now complete and ready to play!

The update contains an additional 31,000 words, 2250 renders, and 44 videos, covering days 27 (Thursday) and 28 (Friday). This one mostly focuses on character progression with the love interests, and has some really great scenes!

Beyond that, the update contains a few minor tweaks and improvements, including the new day/month system I mentioned in a dev log a while ago. Basically, what was Day 1 before, is now September 1st now, and then it begins counting from there. As part of this change, I've also added the ability to hide the date/time display at the top of the screen if you want.

The save problem:
I have good news and bad news about saves: The bad news is that saves from 0.11 will probably be broken again. The initial implementation of the new UI was the problem, so unfortunately I can;t fix it retroactively. The good news is that the problem should now be fixed, so hopefully this is the last you hear of it!

To get to the new content, just start a new game and select the option to "Start at the latest update (Day 27)" - that way even without a save, you shouldn't have to replay anything you don't want to.

Patch:
This update will be available as a patch for the first time on PC, so that you don't have to download the full 8GB game again if you don't want. It should be fairly obvious how to apply it, but I've included instructions just in case. It's been thoroughly tested, and nobody has had any issues with it so far, so I think it should work great. Just make sure you only apply it to version 0.11 or 0.11.1 - applying it to older version of the game will make a mess!

Android:
This will be the first time many of you on android have seen the new UI, but rest assured, it should all work great now! One minor change I've had to make to manage the ballooning file size: The replay gallery for Part 2 is no longer going to contain the scenes from Part 1. Unfortunately this is necessary, as otherwise the Android version would eventually contain more old replay files than new content in order to fit in a 2GB apk.

Please let me know if anything doesn't work and I'll try to get it fixed ASAP, and if you have any other feedback feel free to leave it here or on discord.

I'll talk to you all again in a couple of weeks for the first dev log of version 0.13, so until then, thank you all for supporting Cosy Cafe!

Is the new release going to be available for download here soon or do we have to wait until June?
