Yeah, I'm in the Misaki part. She is interesting on first play, but gets a bit boring afterwards. She is just such a wet noodle... Yeah, great we are helping her in our own way and she needs it. And her sex-stuff also ain't my jam.
Doesn't mean I don't like her, but it's the most skipable part of the whole game, imo, especially on re-play.

I would replay her part just for pantyhose if nothing else. I love nylons and most of all tights. The scenes with Misaki on the train are the hottest. I wish there were more pantyhose upskirts with other girls also.

I get that some of the women are more interesting than others but, IMO, I don't skip any of the women (even Rachel).

Cosy Cafe is like a living tableau being weaved before our eyes.

Start to pull out threads because they are not 'vibrant' enough (read interesting) and the entire piece suffers.

I've also found that once I start to skip a character in an AVN - that sense of 'you are not worth my time' carries over into my playthrough of new revs and my assessment of what other characters no longer deserve my full attention.

This means that I find myself less invested in watching the scenes involving 'those deemed less interesting', and I find I've actually devalued my playthrough and it's my own fault.

Cosy Cafe is an unusually well-crafted story (think how many AVNs have meh to bad stories and pretty renders) that invites my full attention when I play it.

F95 is full of mediocre stories delivered with poor translations (IMO - when English is not the native creator's language) and, perhaps, redeemed to a degree with pretty characters and decent animations, so I make a point of treasuring those that rise above this - like Cosy Cafe!

Now - if I'm so bored that a favorite AVN does not interest me, I've found it is a 'me' problem and I need to get my ass out of my chair and go exercise, eat or... perish the thought - get a good night's sleep.

That good night's sleep is often a perfect reset for my boredom and, when I can carve out AVN time in the next day, I appreciate it...

But that's just my take...

I wasn't really interested in Misaki when it was just the train stuff. Then she shot up considerably after they dropped the mystery and started meeting up in her office.

That said, I don't really skip anyone in the story, everything seems connected even if it's loose. Misaki doesn't seem involved with Founding Family stuff but maybe her parents will be some kind of minor antagonists to overcome. Personally, I'd rather that be handled by Misaki, as a finale to her character growth.

Couldn't agree more.

The whole point of the super-popular post I made about the poll a couple days ago was that a non-random poll is often simply a tool for people who want to complain about something and make it look like their complaints are far more common than they actually are. If you post a negatively-framed poll question online that boils down to "Which character's content do you dislike the most?" most people who don't dislike any content (i.e., the majority of fans of well-written games like CC) are going to ignore the poll. But most people who dislike X or Y are far more likely to vote in the poll because they are emotionally invested (negatively) in some part of the content.

So you are going to get a vastly distorted non-random output that artificially makes the people who voted negatively seem like a much larger part of the total pie than they are in reality, hence the echo-chamber reference I made in my post. The only 2 things that poll actually shows are that

(a) among the people that actively dislike a character's content enough to choose to vote in the poll one character's content was suprisingly the most-unpopular,** and that

(b) even with a negatively framed poll question this game is so good that the clear winner of the poll was "You're crazy if you skip any of it."

Pretty much all the other characters interact with one another to some degree, but she is really a background character even in her own classroom for the most part, and none of her content has taken place at the restaurant so far, so I can easily see players skipping through to 'get back to the main story' as much as because they dislike her in particular. Lucy - smart, likes baking, likes to tend to greenery, stoic as fuck and always ready to help people.
Victoria - smart, musician, clearly the head girl of the harem, the only main LI that's actually socially adept.
Sarah - smart, cosplay model and an amazing seamstress, good at marketing.
Akatsuki - good cook, the house pet and just like a cat, the one who actually pays the most attention to whats going on.
Hannah - quietly competent at everything she does, as long as someone nudges her to do something.
Alison - headmistress, obviously well-connected, good at getting what she wants.
Akari - hell, she's the best cook around.
Catherine - besides Alison, the only one who is politically savvy about the Founding Families. Somehow still manages to keep her sisters moving forward, while her family is disintegrating around her. Also a stoic that probably can match Lucy. And as we learned in the last update - actually has (metaphorical, gladly) balls of steel, when her family future is on the line.
Elizabeth - ok, no idea. But she is confident, sure of herself and obviously adept enough at playing the political game to not get cast off as Alison.

I could understand people not liking her personality, but what do you mean "on her own side-quest"? It's already been teased that we want to go to culinary school and for that she is probably the only one that can help us as we probably need to improve grades before.
Her personality is also probably bound to change once she starts becoming more confident.

Hey guys, it's dev log time again!

I want to start by saying welcome to all of the new supporters that have joined since the release of version 0.12 a couple of weeks ago - the reception for this one has been really positive, so thank you all! I make these dev logs every couple of weeks, so if you stick around between updates you'll get used to hearing from me!

Now, onto the dev log:

It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, as usual. Of course, work on version 0.13 is already underway - I'm currently finishing up the first phase of writing, which is the detailed scene planning stage. There's a hell of a lot to fit into the next couple of in-game days (the goth weekend), and fitting it all in has been a bit like doing a jigsaw.

So, I can't remember if I mentioned this in a previous dev log or not, but I had previously planned on doing the weekend in a single two day update, but now I'm weighing up the possibility of splitting it into two single day updates. Ultimately I'll make the final decision when I've got it all written out in full and I can see the final length, but if it ends up way too long I might not have a choice if I want to keep up a regular release cycle.

Other than that, I'm also currently working on a version 0.12.1 that will be ready for the public release of version 0.12 in a couple of weeks. At the moment it contains a few hundred minor grammar improvements across the last three or four updates, but I'm also hoping to fix a few bugs as well.

The main one may be something that some of you have noticed: For some reason video playback on animated scenes has been a bit slow in 0.12 (no idea why, nothing should have changed in that respect) and you can sometimes see white/transparent screens flashing up before each video plays. I've already got a semi-fix in place that improves the problem, but I have another one in the works (credit to moderateUtopia on discord for putting me on to it) that is a bit more time consuming to implement but may eliminate it completely.

Beyond that initial work on 0.13 and 0.12.1, I've also been setting up a new PC! Those of you who have been around since the beginning will remember me using a big chunk of my early patreon money to build the one I'm using currently, and it's served me well for the last couple of years, but it does rather hit its limit with some of the larger scenes (the Founding council and the back yard of the cafe were particularly painful to work with).

So I'm currently setting up my new one using all-new graphical mods - it's taking a bit of time to get it all working, but I'm hopeful it should allow me to make some visual improvements! And, of course, I'm going to be careful to make sure it stays in-keeping with the current style of the game. Once I've got it up and running I'm gonna see what I can do, and maybe post some comparisons for you in the next dev log if there are noticeable improvements.

So, as I said earlier, I'm currently working through the writing process for 0.13 - hopefully that should also be finished by the time of the next dev log, at which point I'll be able to give you a few more details - but for now, I'll leave you with a custom image set of Lucy I made for fun on discord recently, I thought it turned out really cute!

For me that makes them more interesting than generic extroverts because you might find a real diamond-in-the-rough. Like being friends with the ugly girl as a kid who ends up super hot after going through puberty.

Personally the dom/sub thing is of no interest, but it makes sense for her that the only way out of her 'cage' is for someone to force her out, and now she can actually start to grow. I'm looking forward to her storyline myself, but I completely understand why some people aren't. I also see a lot of similarities between her and Lucy, and so it surprises me that one is largely adored and the other is apparently quite a bit less popular. Vive la difference!

She actively dislikes almost all of her family. So there's the reason she doesn't go to them.

And as far as male friends go, I usually find male friends in these games downright annoying. It's one of the worst parts of most of the college games here.

Plus I don't play harem games for realism, obviously.

If you're looking for male competition for the love interests the NTR tag exists.

You have hit the nail on the head for me. I love this VN because of the characters and the relationships, honestly I could take or leave the sexual stuff. Not that the sexual stuff is bad by any means, just that I dont read VNs to wax the carrot, I read them for the story and characters. So when a character whose early interactions are all lewd in nature shows up I just don't really connect to her and end up kinda just clicking through her lines to get back to the Lucy stuff sooner.

exactly, the train stuff doesn't give me much, so rereading it is, let's say, a choice. Her new scenes in the school are fire tho.
