Happens on most of the lwed scenes, there's usually 4-7 images (clicks)missing from each scene. Like, you see they go to the shower, then all blank, until finished "product" is displayed on the girl. Even did a fresh install/new game in case it was savegame related.

I bet, you had 12.0, and did the patch to 13.0. 12.1 fixed the issues with the checkered screen, and the patch was designed to be applied to the 12.1 update. Either download the full 13.0, or download the 12.1 update, and apply the patch you already downloaded.

If you mean to the MC then no, I doubt it as it would go against Patreon and it's not worth the hassle.

I think she may be a bastard child of one of the families, that could explain why she was at the main party, but Catherine didn't recognize her as one of the FF.

Not necessarily a "bastard child". She could just be of one of the "lesser branches" from one of the founding families: not directly involved in the main branch, which takes all the decisions and has a seat at the council, but still part of the FF system. Considering how many child a FF head can have (with the amount of wives they have) it would only be natural for the families to branch out, with the main branch still "taking care" of the lesser branches.

It's mentioned several times that Anabelle's bearing is reminiscent of the Founding Families, and she's even met for the first time at one of their parties. She also seems to have some amount of money, given her high-level participation in both contests so far. I think a connection is very reasonable to assume.

That said, since she's unfamiliar to the other FF girls, it's probably a complicated situation. My guess would be she's the daughter of an excommunicated family member - probably a lower ranking one too, a distant cousin or nephew or whatever. Someone who had very little influence to begin with, did something that embarrassed the family, and was cut out.

It's hard to ascertain her motives. Assuming this is her situation, does she want back into the family? Does she want revenge on those who wronged her parent? Does she seek to change the unjust system entirely? These all seem largely too ambitious for her based on what we've seen, but we've also seen almost nothing of her so who knows.

Her request for a friend was certainly odd, though it's entirely possible she's a shrewd manipulator who's playing at being a clumsy ditz and trying to ingratiate herself with the newest and least experienced FF head. I think that's unlikely, but a possibility worth keeping in mind. Wouldn't be the first time a girl plotted behind our backs and ended up regretting it once they got in too deep.

I don't think that's the case Catherine clearly indicates during the goth competition that she has nothing to do with the founding families, I think if she was really family of an excommunicated member Catherine would have mentioned it there since it's an important detail even if she may currently have little power. I do agree that she's someone with little influence, and I think she's genuine in wanting to be friends, at least I don't think she's manipulating everyone.

I don't believe she is either, only stating that it's a possibility. So far, even the girls who have attempted to deceive us have still been themselves for the most part, I don't see that trend changing, but it's good to be aware.

My guess regarding Catherine's lack of knowledge, if I'm barking up the right tree, is that it's simply too unimportant for her to know. That's why I speculated it was a parent that got removed, not her directly. That would've been something of an event within Catherine's lifetime, making her familiar with the idea, but if it happened before she was even born or when she was very little there'd be no real reason for her to learn of it.

Ultimately, it all comes down to lack of information. We don't know enough about Anabelle to scrutinize her too closely right now. She's as big a mystery as her sense of balance.

I think Anabelle is going to be a mixture of Lucy and Sarah.

Lucy had no friends at the start besides Sarah,and was very innocent, naive, and easily intimidated.

Sarah had no friends other than Lucy, but being raised in the main branch of a Founding Family she has a lot more confidence (in general) and isn't as innocent, naive, or as easily intimidated. Sarah is/was trapped in Families nonsense despite being raised knowing she's practically and politically useless, until MC came along and complicated everything.

I think it's very possibly that Anabelle just wants a friend.

She's FF adjacent enough to be at their events, but she's not from any of the main or important branches of any of the families. Give the politics of that world, it's entirely likely that she hasn't been able to make any friends among her peers. Remember what Alison said about all her friends abandoning her after her father kicked her out.

There's also the fact to commoners, Anabelle is likely in a position of being "too noble to be one of us" but "not noble enough to give any benefits to being friends with".

So, nobles of the Families have no interest in her, and commoners have no interest in her either.

Using the favour owed to ask MC to be friends with her makes sense. She's alone.

Judging from what we've seen, I don't think there's anything she could have asked that would improve her standing.
But asking for a friend, assuming it works, would improve her quality of life.

The question Catherine answers is if Annabelle is from one of the main families. Pretty sure wither Cosy stated it or it was mentioned somewhere she is from a branch family - still part of the nobility, just not high nobility if you prefer. Like most of the people on the party where we meet her for the first time.

If you just want a story, go read a book, a comic, manga, or watch a movie, a TV series, a play, or a dozen other ways you can experience a story. This line of argument is just nonsense that can be easily flipped on itself 99% of the time. The porn aspect of a porn game is important for a lot of people, what a shocker.

If these were porn games you might have some semblance of a coherent point, the problem is they're not porn games. It's literally in the description.

They're visual novels. Aimed at adults. Hence why they're called Adult Visual Novels.

There are absolutely porn games that give you what those people seem to be looking for, but most visual novels are not porn games.

I enjoy the restaurant/founding families mainstory and imo its a good foundation but nobody would care about this story without the relationship development and the lewds, the relationship development would be arguably stupid outside of a "avn harem world exactly designed to give the mc a harem" lol

I would never play an avn which hasnt at least a somewhat decent story but to behave like lewds arent the main selling point of avns is stupid. If it would only be about a good story, we would all just read books.

I didn't mean to imply that the lewds weren't important in an adult story marketed with lewd content. That's the adult part of Adult Visual Novel. Just like no one would read Colleen Hoover without the steamy bits, people definitely expect some sex in their AVNs.

With that said though, there's a huge market for completely sexless, PG-13 Visual Novels out there, so to imply no one would read these stories without graphic sex is kinda missing the point. The Visual Novel is a storytelling medium, nothing more/

Although, and maybe I'm an exception, I would absolutely play this particular AVN without the explicit sex. The recent scenes with Cat and Hannah, together and alone for example have been some of if it not the hottest in the game so far, and they focus on maledom without being explicitly pornographic, at least by AVN standards - though this isn't really here nor there towards my argument, just personal opinion and preference.

It's definitely not the case for everyone and every AVN. (Some AVNs, such as Muv-Luv, got their A for other reasons, with sexual content either absent or extremely limited. And Muv-Luv would arguably be a lot weaker if it had sex scenes. In any case, it is one of the absolute top visual novels ever, and even though it starts as a dating sim, what makes it 'adult' is other mature themes such as war and death, which are treated perfectly. And Muv-Luv treats its themes in a hard-hitting way that neither traditional novels nor movies can achieve in quite that way, but only a medium in between and with some degree of choices and agency.)

Of course if you qualify it as AVNs on this site and this site's audience, then you are right.

Still, rta001 would play Cosy Cafe even without explicit sex scenes, and so would I. Though I am not sure I would have found it without them.
