I guess it's my mistake for enjoying the game and supporting a dev in the development of it. Wasting my bloody time any money.
Agreed, it didn't have Mist's post-apocalyptic vibe but other than that it didn't feel like much of a tonal shift. Definitely still overarching horror vibes, which I'm sure would have grown as the plot progressed.I don't really get the complaints that this game was too much of a genre shift from MIST, and that the dev should've stuck to their niche...
The two games share basically the exact same gameplay. Hub world home that you live in with waifus and can interact with them, dungeon that you enter at your own pace and use up energy to explore in a first person crawler style mixed with point and click mechanics... what exactly made this game such a "shift"?
Anyway, did the dev post anywhere what their plans wouldve been for this game to satiate some curiosity?
Nah. Shit happens. At the end of the day, what project succeeds or not is not up to any individual but the mood of the general audience. You supporting it can not be blamed for wasting your money any more than my dislike (and therefore lack of support) can be blamed for killing it. Ultimately, the fault is on the dev who miscalculated on just how big the audience for what he wanted to do was.I guess it's my mistake for enjoying the game and supporting a dev in the development of it. Wasting my bloody time any money.
The problem was the dev himself, there will always be fans that will smell his farts and tell him its the smell of roses, they would even cheer him on as he drives off a cliff, but he needed to accept that the reception this game got since the very first update was negative or just very divisive, and that got reflected very soon in his Patreon support, but he just doubled down, decided to listen to his minions that said his vision was perfection, and yeah, basically went with the usualNow nobody plays anymore, that's what happens when these hardcore fans think that nobody can criticize their favorite game, as I said before, all of this could have been avoided.
You speak about men, but then you mention Derpixon, who is a woman XD"show me any woman, and I'll show you a man thats tired of fuckin her"
if you check male libido/ partner attraction in relationships, around the 7 year mark, attraction to their partner tends to drop off HEAVILY.
men are attracted to variety, and porn can mess that. Making a porn game messes with that especially.
Lots of artists 'lose the spark' after doing similar kinds of content.
derpixon gave lost the drive for nsfw art entirely.
its natural.
Guys just gotta keep in mind the mental health is largely sourced from the body's health.
take care of yourselves guys!
Honestly, I think both of you are going too far. As someone who has been developing software professionally for decades now and has worked on many modding projects on the side during that time doing all sorts of things from art and 3D models to coding (and we are talking huge contributions with serious credits here) I can confidently tell you that this has nothing to do with porn. It's just the nature of creative work. You speak about men, but then you mention Derpixon, who is a woman XD
Besides that i think you got it all wrong:
2D artist like ZONE and Derpixon retire cuz is fucking hard making animations, they would work for months to make 1 video
In other games is ussually two flavors of the same reason to abadon the project, most of the time is both of em.
1) Making games is hard and I have no idea what im doing
2) I or We oversold our ability to make a game (in the case of team developers or straight up scammers)
It's not about the gameplay or genre. Those are similar.I don't really get the complaints that this game was too much of a genre shift from MIST, and that the dev should've stuck to their niche...

I wholeheartedly agree, but at the same time I think the dev should have the freedom to do whatever he wants. The problem was the dev himself, there will always be fans that will smell his farts and tell him its the smell of roses, they would even cheer him on as he drives off a cliff, but he needed to accept that the reception this game got since the very first update was negative or just very divisive, and that got reflected very soon in his Patreon support, but he just doubled down, decided to listen to his minions that said his vision was perfection, and yeah, basically went with the usual
" If you don't like it, don't play it" that Hollywood celebrities often like to say.
Dev just forgot that unlike those retarded celebrities, he isn't a millionaire set for life but only an indie dev. A very small detail that a lot of devs seem to ignore![]()
I disagree. I think this game should die. Most of the audience rejected it from the start, and it was a mistake to keep it going for so long. He can implement those ideas in another game. It would be an asshole move to dedicate resources from another project into this one, since people would be paying for that other project and getting less content if he dedicates time and resources to this.I wholeheartedly agree, but at the same time I think the dev should have the freedom to do whatever he wants.
He obviously does it for the $$$, so he must listen to his costumers, but at the same time it sucks that he limits his work/art to what some wankers on Patreon say.
Imagine if Mozart or Picasso stopped making their art just because some dudes said "uhh, I prefer it the other way", "I wouldn't buy that" or "pls add more NTR to Guernica".
I mean yeah, this dude is not Mozart, he's just some Slavic guy that makes games for ppl like me to cum all over my keyboard, but you get the point: money shouldn't condition ppl's games.
He obviously had a ton of ideas for CoM, so maybe if he gets some cash from his other projects he would keep developing this one. A man can dream
didn't know derpixon was a woman. How do ppl find that stuff out lol?You speak about men, but then you mention Derpixon, who is a woman XD

No one who is passionate about something ever quits because it's hard, the oversolding bit applies only with complex games, less rarely with animations (which is what zone and derpixon did, they did animations, not games) as you can simply put in more time, the only reason people quit is because they don't earn enough, money, simple as that, money is only reason folks quit doing something that they are passionate about, that or something that prevents them from doing it, there are no other reasons, sure, some do burn out, but this is almost always related to money or something related (like sustainability of the business, piracy, issues with monetization, etc). You speak about men, but then you mention Derpixon, who is a woman XD

If it was a passion piece I would be inclined to agree, however this was not a simple passion piece this was product being essentially sold that many fans rejected because it was vastly different than the previous work. It would be like Mozart deciding he was done with European instruments and changing to Asian ones. Or if Picasso decided his paint would be more vibrant if it was made from blood instead. It was a dramatic change in what people liked about the artist and instead of course correcting and giving supporters concessions to drum up support it went further into the things people had little interest in. Sometimes an artist just isn't right about what is best for their pieces and can ruin something that would have been grand with a last minute idea change because of their whims.I wholeheartedly agree, but at the same time I think the dev should have the freedom to do whatever he wants.
