Every time I download an update, I always put a little note on the folder (I delete the contents, but leave the folder). "Don't download again until"

Currently I'm waiting until v0.44.

The updates always seem so short in this one that you need some good pace between downloads to have some meaningful content.

Kana likely become the one to set the motel on fire is very much on my bingo card. We should just tie her to a cuck chair and slowly corrupt her to accepting her eventual fate.

Kagome though... much love. Gonna take a bit to get her fully under us but it will be worth it.

And again, a entirely short and meaningless update with a smidge of fan service... Where is the Meat?

I applaud and envy your resolve, for I do not posses the same. And on that note:

Clearly your new here. Short updates are par for the course, and frustrate many.
Well relatively, but I finished this a few months ago (minus this update). So I'm aware after asking here just how small the updates are....I completely understand that frustration-sicne the games plot is actually good.

Thought I saw someone say here that the devs updates will be bigger from now on, must not include this time

Am i misremembering, i could've sworn the dev used to update monthly but according to my last 3 saves he's seemingly switched to every other month... i only keep the last 3 saves between updates, overwriting the oldest as i go so i can't check any older ones to answer my own question, so does anyone know?

Several updates ago the dev added a couple weeks to the dev time but kept the same minimal update size. I want to say back around v0.32 but I don't remember exactly.

Personally, I don't mind. I view updates to this game like dessert rather than a main course. I'm always real excited to see an update because they are a nice treat. Real quality stuff that makes the wait worthwhile. At this point, I don't even really care if no h-scenes happen because they are not why I come back to this visual novel over and over. I've been following it here for years now and my interest in it has only increased over time which is exceptionally rare.

Finished the latest update. Really enjoyed the Kagome time but damn, would be totally ok with dropping Kana and putting that time towards wonderful girls like Suzu. Was so glad the MC said he missed her and Miko. Definitely need some more Miko time. Way to many girls in this story. Ohh well, now the wait for the next update. Wonder how many until we get to the evening and see Suzu again.

Well, finished the update. Can't say I'm surprised by Kana's reaction. Though at this point, him being with these girls isn't even just desire. It's basically a necessarily at this point. He needs to do it with the vampires especially, and especially the more noble ones. Jun's mom also seemed very urgent about it as well. Along with his childhood friend. Her and Miko/Suzu are the more obvious

I don't think Kana will go yandere however. She is smart, and I think will come around (in 10 updates)

According to the changelog, thats not true though. This update says it has 14,500 words, 283 renders. The previous one had 13,800 words, 273 renders. the one before that was even smaller with 12,800 words and 193 renders, and all the other updates I looked at were of similar sizes, with only 0.27.1 being fairly bigger at 24,100 words and 444 images.
My bad then. The update felt a bit shorter to me, and seeing others complain only reinforced that. To be fair, few devs can do work of this quality at a faster pace and hope to maintain any sort of regular schedule. Kinderfeld/ILS Productions manages it, but I'll admit that I think their renders are perhaps a tad sloppier (and they've had some teething issues switching from HS1 to HS2 for their current project). By that I mean it seems like Vertigo spends a lot of time planning out, staging, and rending wholes series of bespoke images for even the simplest conversations; the result being that this is the only AVN that I can remember where the simple facial reaction of a character involved in a conversation (but not currently speaking) has made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions. In other words, their stagecraft is spot on. Mutt & Jeff I think are equally as skilled in their staging, but you're also waiting for multiple changes of seasons between their admittedly substantial updates.

I like how Kana's arguably crazy ass is ironically the most sane girl in the game when it comes to the bullshit the MC was spewing. Was genuinely hilarious reading the nonsense going on put into words for Kagome; 'yeah I smashed your entire class, including your teacher but I totally love you." Felt sorry both her and Kana.

How I see it....

Well considering the lore the game has for vampires, it would kind of make sense that Kagome is a bit more accepting, as are some of the other vampires. Okami makes sense too considering. In the end, different cultures have different views on relationships, seems "mythkind" is of no exception.

I mean most vampires assume they will have to stick with women to avoid the risk of going crazy or ghoulification, so not really far fetched to believe some vampires would be fine with sharing a man. Kana and Kagome see the MC as completely different. This whole time, Kagome didn't even think she could be with the MC because of Kana and vampirism, now she sees it as possible and now she is going to think about it. Though it will still no doubt depend on Kana.

Poly relationships, harems, and thruples exist in the real world. If a prince from some shit hole country can have a harem, I am sure that a Demi-god that is immune to vampirism (probably won't need the meds) will have no trouble getting one.

Kana on the other hand, even if MC didn't have a harem and was simply came back into her life and was dating another girl, she'd still be hurt because of the expectations she built for herself. If MC just simply rejected her and there was no one else, she would still be devasted because of the pedestal she put him on. There was no way to avoid hurting her unless MC simply chose to be with her exclusively, but even then, even if he was 100% loyal, she would still be jealous and it would eat at her.

Well, to be honest, this game has way too many characters (like a hundred or so), and I have a hard time remembering their names. That’s also why the story feels too long because every character gets their own spotlight. I appreciate your writing, but honestly, it’s the large number of characters that made me feel bored and made it hard for me to remember them.

Just finished the scene with Aya and Yui-is that the last spicy scene so far or just the last one in the gallery thing? If so, how much more story is left?

On a related note-since I last played this game over a year ago to let content build up and am doing a full replay now-it feels like I'm having a sort of dissonance in my memory about when I stopped in the story because-if I'm as close to the end of content as I think-it really seems like only a few scenes have been added since then and even with how long-winded the narration can be not much has happened and it's kinda high-key got me questioning my memory

It was less about the relationships per se and more about how the MC's dialogue making him come off a scumbag just trying to get all the girls. Nothing that was said sounded any bit convincing that he loved anyone besides maybe Suzu. The rest were just notches on a belt that he desires. Basically a douche that desires all the women he finds attractive, with a heart of gold. Which is even weirder.

Yeah that last scene was a shit show. He could have structured telling her 1000x better. But, MC is kinda a idiot about anything relationship related. I'm mad at him. He lets kana think to much when he's not done talking. He should have held her. Waaag!

Fair enough, I was focused on why they would accept it and less how he said it. I don't know how he could have phrased it with Kana to avoid upsetting her, I think she built him up so much that if he returned to her life and was say married to Miri, she would have still been heartbroken and upset with him. He could've done a better job though. I mean maybe don't take her on a date to tell her, just ask if he can come over to explain things. A safer environment and not public, nor would he have led her on.

I don't have an issue with Kagome accepting it, as I have said, but I agree that he did come off as a douche. Although I can see it as him getting a big head ;) with all these women being after him and having a cult worshiping him. He could be getting full of himself and needs someone to bring him back to earth or whatever.

Eh it would be easier to explain if he wasn't going after half of Japan though

To be quite fair to him, he's been dealing with quit a bit himself over the past couple of days, and doesn't understand half of it. I mean, first he finds out he's some kind of prophet or demigod whose existence has been prophesized for at least the past couple hundred years, while at the same time learning that all manner of creatures that he thought were just found in myths and fairy tails, some in bad hentai manga are real? Furthermore, the kids he used to babysit are lesbian (bisexual maybe) vampires, with telepathic abilities? Well that takes some getting used to. Then one of his students, a sexy little minx of a vampire tries to come onto him, fully expecting to turn him into some undead ghoul or thrall, only for him to end up spiritually married to another vampire girl, and now he's being encouraged to build up a harem of girls by other, equally ancient vampire girls?

How WOULD you explain that tactfully? If we're being perfectly honest here, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that he's having a hard time explaining it to people outside of things. Kana's reaction there, and the statement by the unknown person that it could have gone better, is perfectly reasonable.

Kana comes off as being slightly Yandere in behavior, but not in a bad way specifically. (hear me out here). She's written like someone who, for quite some time, had a serious crush on the MC. Likely she's had various detailed (and lewd) fantasies about a life with the MC... only to lose that when she was turned into a vampire. Kagome likely had those same fantasies as well, but not as bad as Kana did. Hence why she has a better reaction to what's going on. So when the MC suddenly reappears in her life (unlife? sorry, vampire joke that) again, and reveals he can somehow hear her thoughts? Well, that's playing right into one of her past fantasies, and it sure as hell isn't helping her deal with everything well.
