It's been quite some time since I played the game, as I have been waiting for both routes to get finished, but from what I recall vampirism was really annoying. You get infected with vampirism, you use a consumable that removes it, and the very next turn you get infected again, so basically wasted the item used. It was so annoying at times that I still remember it, despite how long it has been since the last time I played.
exactly. you use holy water/purify, enemy bites again, you purify again, they bite again, and so one. had it where i was bitten 5 times in a row sometimes. you understand? 5! know what the problem is? its that you purify/use holy water every round, but you STILL take dmg, cuz enemy bites after you and then the round ends. and you take dot dmg on every round end. like bro what else am i supposed to do? and you might say: just try to end the fight fast and use holy water. well that doesnt always work and you die if you dont heal. and besides, you cant purify out of combat so you run out of holy water real fast, how many holy water and heals are you going to need man? and that shield that blocks vampirism, is in nocturna castle. you're like 40 something HR by then+having resurrection anyway. those Nachzehrers fucked me up real good before i would get to that point. the only enemies im, as dev puts it, wary of.
and dev? look at it this way: this also means that on the v route if you manage to bite anybody=free big dot dmg. and come on guys, you all have to agree v route is much easier cuz of this.

Sounds like someone needs to lower the difficulty slider.
not sure if this is targeted at or not, but if it is, dont waste your time trying to take a jab at me. this was a sort of review of mine, i only wrote here after i'd already finished the game so please dont insult me by implying i need an easier mode, of course this doesnt mean just cuz i was able to finish it, i shouldnt be criticizing what i see as a bad design. i could change that "-.21" value myself but i wrote and expressed my concerns here with the intention of making the game more enjoyable for everybody. i only said anything cuz i like this game and give a shit about it. either way dev's given his opinion and i doubt they'll change it so i wont continue.

And thank you for voicing your opinion. Your reasoning is solid, I’m just adamant about keeping the damage threshold where it is. I love hearing the opinions of others regarding the game and its lead to multiple QOL changes over time, so feel free to voice your thoughts whenever. I frequently check on this thread for new comments, so don’t think you’re shouting out into the void when you post here.

I really like that you're sticking with your idea while also listening to feedback. I don't remember ever having to worry about this debuff more than twice in a battle so that may be why I didn't find it as difficult as some of the posters here.

I'd like to offer a suggestion that after using holy water(?) to cure your bite if the vampire bites you again they are hit with a debuff themselves. The flavor would be that whatever is curing you from the illness is actively harmful to vampires if digested.

I don’t know about that, but I think you did give me a good idea. Check back for updates because I think that I thought of a compromising solution.

yeah something like that. you could make a buff for holy water that would protect you from vampirism for a few rounds. damaging the enemy is good too, if you dont find it too much a buff that is, but protection is a reasonable buff. so yeah i think this is easily implementable. not sure if same thing would make sense for purify tho so holy water>purify. then again you also buy it so it would make sense.

Went through Bianca pet quest I like how it played out and I like the end image but I kind of thought they would have sex at the end of that is that going to happen at some point?

After a busy week, I’ve finally wrapped up the latest version of Crimson Veil and sent it off to my testers for review. Please give them a little time to play through and catch any issues I may have missed.

While we wait, I’ve got a small treat to share with my patrons today: a look at some early color schemes for characters already in the game—think of them as beta versions. It’s just a fun little bonus as we gear up for the release of Version 5.5! Be aware that the art assets and sketches download links will be taken down temporarily as the latest versions get uploaded.

I’m also excited to confirm that the update will be available next Sunday at our usual time—8PM EST for all patrons! That means that the Public release will be on October 6th! I can’t wait for you to dive into the new adventures and content.

The latest version of Crimson Veil is now available on Windows and Mac to all Patrons! (Mobile version will be released at a later date)



Check the changes below:

•2 new contracts added to Vampire Route. ("The Heir in Hiding" and "Something Familiar About Her")

•Clover was added as a playable partner.

•Summon Luna Skill added.

•Dual Crush skill added for Max Bond Level with all Pets.

•Holy Water, Purify, Holy Purify, and Magna Flash all give Vampirism Immunity for 1-2 turns after use.

•Vampire Route can now be selected from a New Game.

•Story Change warning now appears before entering Dorian's Room for the First time in the Hunter Route.

•Berserker, Righteous Acolyte, Blast Chemist, and Edge Weaver enemy types have been added and replaced certain nameless Vampire Hunters.

•Additional skills and stat buffs added to various Pets.

•The White Knite is now invincible in her fight during chapter 3-V, but you get acknowledged for reaching a certain damage threshold.

•NPC "Jaclyn" name changed to "Velzea". "Satan" name changed to "Sanguineus"

•Minor Bug fixes and additions to the Dev Room.

•8 Images added to Picture Gallery. (154 total)



Additionally, a new perk has been added to the 5$+ Tier. You can now choose to download uncompressed image files for the game! For file size reasons, I've had to compress the images for the latest releases, and it has affected the quality and clarity of many of my illustrations. With this pack, you can now view the game as it was intended!

Also, This upcoming week I will be working on updating the walkthrough and I hope to have that done by next Sunday. Please be sure to do your part by sharing your thoughts, and reporting any issues you encounter!

Happy Sunday everyone! Have you had the chance to try out the latest content in version 5.5 yet? If not, you can get a glimpse at the latest content with the updated walkthrough, which I just finished this week. You can view it here:

I’ve adjusted a few smaller things and corrected some bugs in the game that were sent to me. If you do encounter any issues, be sure to send them my way asap as I plan on finalizing the public release by next Friday. That also means if you are interested in being added as an NPC for this update cycle, be sure to become a tier 4 patron by Wednesday, Oct 2.

As for me, I had a bit more free time to work on some non-game art. I doubt I’ll have much free time in October to make these, so I figure I’d get ahead of the curve for the spooky season.



With that said, I’m still looking forward to October, as I do every year. That’s all I have for you this week. Remember, the public release of 5.5.1 will be available at this time next week. See you then!
