Is the save option greyed out or is the save feature acting strange? Also, are you using a save file from an older version? Using old saves will cause issues since I just changed the ways saves work in this version and it is incompatible with save files created in previous versions.
I can’t say I’ve seen this before. I encountered a glitch when I used a save file that was created before I added the autosave feature and it screwed up the save screen. See if that error still occurs after you create a new game. If its still causing you issues, I think it may be a problem on your end. Maybe a program is preventing the game from running properly.

It might be tied to any sort of progressing with an older save. I saw this too: I was able to access the save menu until after I started the new contract and Quinn joined the party, at which point the screen looked like above. It also looked like that after I loaded up an old save to check out the added scenes for Vivienne's bad end, initiated the surrender scene, and left the cathedral.
There is a developer room with cheats and skips built in, but it is accessible to my patrons only.
Eventually yes, there will be a point of no return to accessing the vampire route. It will come late in the story after a certain point. Currently you can do everything in the normal route and then do vampire route after.
Yeah, I wanted to punch that king in the face. Such pig-headed incompetence, refusing to listen to the experts and getting the majority of his castle staff killed because of it, then blaming the experts for it.
I'm also having the mac issue and it's different than the on you are describing. I think Being a Dik had similar issue on my mac and it was related to files losing their execution powers while unzipping. The solution had to do with 'chmod x+a' ing a few files, assuming the issue is same. The game can't even launch tho, so it's not the permissions issue, at least for me.
How does file save/load work? Cause every time I save it and go to load to test it, doesn’t do anything the only it say in this save file is, this Save is for a different game! My focus on this update was world building. My intent is to put the building blocks in place for parts that will need to be expanded in the future now to cut down on the time I will need to create it later. The new eastern side of the overworld is pretty barren, but will be filled out through further updates. It may look jarring, but I just didn't want to include any points of interest in the overworld if there was no way to interact with them. Mor Town has been greatly expanded. There are more items to pick up by exploring the town which should help players who may be having difficulty with earlier parts of the game. There's also plenty of fun interactions to see with NPCs and objects, so I hope players will interact with all sorts of things in the world to find them.
The real meat of the expansion will be the two new quests available to you. the first quest will be available at the start of chapter 2, while the second quest will be available after you return from the events of chapter 2. These are shorter than the main story quests, but I hope you will enjoy them nonetheless. I had a blast writing these quests. It really got my creative juices flowing the whole time and I just could not stop putting in new ideas, as they were constantly coming to me. I'm particularly looking forward to hearing your reactions to the Succubus side quest, so please be sure to let me know!
As with every update moving forward, unfortunately save data compatibility will be an issue for players returning from previous versions. I apologize for this pretty major inconvenience, but as far as I can tell, that's just how it goes when releasing a game in parts like this. If anyone knows of a way to future proof saves for players moving to newer versions, please let me know.
