I actually wanna highlight that Anon has done an exceptional job with the transparency during the downtime. I think that's gone really underappreciated. Having the brass balls to put out at least one update a month without fail despite knowing this criticism is out there waiting for any excuse (or none at all, in some cases). With details of what's being done and proof of new content whenever it's something visible. We're all inured to creators having personal issues and games dying on the vine because of it, but nope, not this one. This team is basically setting the gold standard in this kind of scenario. If Anon is still reading he should be proud of it.

lol, lmao even.
GOLD standard? gold standard for milking their patrons maybe.
it took over a year to get a minor 0.01 update, from 0.46 to 0.47.

it's actually insane to me that people defend and even try to justify this shit.

I'd call it milking if all of the posts were payment locked to view. Anon is very public about his progress, even with how slow it is. If people still either keep backing him financially or even start a new subscription knowing how slow as fuck he is, that's their prerogative.

Anon has had this terrible work ethic since the "great rework" started. If you're surprised now, you haven't been paying attention.

The rest I agree with, but Anon has also been very public about his difficulties. And I have the same ones, and far too much truth in common for him to be making them up, so I empathize with them (so there's where my impulse to speak up in his defense comes from). "Terrible work ethic" comments only 'inspire' creators to give up. That this game is still going at all is beating the odds.

...Yeah, y'know what, I'll take this dance. Normally I wouldn't, but some dipshits need a good put-down as an example to the rest.

It's insane to me how some people think there's some arbitrary timer on a Patreon project, especially with information updates this consistent for this long. On 8 months of sudden radio silence? Sure. But since these updates are consistent, detailed, and thorough, I'm reading them and basically everything in them checks out to me, so I'm willing to take him at his word, check in now and then, and exercise some fucking patience and understanding for this particular shining example (and I'm willing to bet the likes on my other post agree with me; appreciate y'all).

So since you're in here bitching, about the only other thing I can think of for the team to do is summon a fucking wizard to snap his fingers and finish the game instantly. Would that please Your Majesty?

But I'm no fool and I know you're probably here in bad faith to stir up shit. If you weren't, you'd be taking the updates at their word. If you didn't want to stir up shit, you'd have said nothing at all. Certainly you have better things to do with your time than check in on a creator you've already decided to hate and contribute nothing of value to the discussion, I hope?

That said, whiny saltpost counter +1.

I don't know what Anon is struggling with but if the game is adding stress to his mental health, i think he should go on vacation and get into his game creation again when his in a more sound mind, or perhaps do it slowly it that's not what he's doing already. I'm not sure how mental health surely works if he can be more mentally stable or what but i'm more happy that developers are health rather than getting a game out on time you know.

There are some people out there who always complains about a game that they exclusively pirate, and rant about how fucking miserable the dev's life and how he is "Milking" the patreons for money. Like for god sakes, let the man breathe, don't fucking pressure him because your dick needs attention, humble yourself for once for god sakes.

Same goes for you too, his life is much more important than your fucking 3 inch long dick brother. Just let him breathe and let the team do their work, and for once. For fucking once, be more understandable and be more insightful. Maybe the patreon money is giving him a better life now? Who knows? Just to give you a heads up, you have no right to fucking complain about the game's progression if you are pirating the game, and even if you have a subscription of the dev's patreon, just leave him alone. Making a Pixelated game (especially if it is a hentai type of game) is hard to do, especially if it is as big as this game right here.

quite a spicy arguement eh? honestly you can't really say 'hes milking patreon' since yk if he WOULD have done that he would've let the game stay in early stages where there's only 2 stages and milk the shit out of it with false promises, theres this star wars game where it was milked to death and now the creator came with a new one and nobody trusts him, THAT is valid for hating, not this.

Pretty much my point. Half the time the complainers are right about this sort of thing (even if it gets really tiring to see it all. the. time) but that is absolutely not the case here. I saw a criticism that was definitely not fair and decided to speak up.

(Gonna head off any comments about sunk-cost fallacy or Stockholm syndrome by saying "Haha nope!" not a patron. Probably would if I had the means but i don't. Will be buying the game once it's out though.)

Pretty much where I'm at. I'm too poor for patronage, so the least I can do if I'm gonna leach off actual Patrons is at least try to defend the devs I like from haters.

Being a grassroots porn game developer honestly seems like a terrible decision. Based on the track record of this and other games like Deathblight (and dozens more that I can't be assed to bother remembering), you can expect mental health crises, housing problems, the kitchen sink, etc.

I refuse to believe it is because the mentally unsound are usually the ones to start porn game patreons. It must be the reverse. The only conclusion from this correlation is that making them curses you in some form.

Hello everyone. I am here to give a minor tl;dr of progress for the game's next update after the latest release based off of the weekly reports & daily dev updates provided in the developer's Discord server (Game Version 0.47 at the time of writing, next update being 0.48)
Please forgive any things I have forgotten to mention, if you are curious to the game's development progress, weekly devlogs have been much more consistent via the Patreon page.

Currently, new colour palettes for Alicia are currently being created by Orexius (there is a poll held on Patreon occasionally, as these new ones are community selected!). Hoverjets (dash boots) are getting changed extensively, an animation with Rodriguez is currently being tweaked (with a new one to come, seemingly, along with one for Birch), and the Warped Soldiers are getting some much needed love due to how easily they are countered in combat. A lot of the current story for the game has finally gone through it's rewrite & polish, and has now been sent off to the respective voice actors as well! There are also multiple UI & HUD improvements, along with QoL features coming in the next update.

After this next update is finished, I presume that we will start seeing things like new areas being worked on & perhaps new enemies (do NOT take my word for this, this is just what I remember from older discussions and I could be extremely mistaken).

No one is talking about a timer, but an entire year to get a 0.01 update is beyond asking for patience and understanding.

Yes peasant. You do that.

Surely only fools would engage people that they assume are just trying to stir shit up.
I have no obligation to take anyone's word at face value, let alone someone whose income is reliant on just that.
What you read isn't (mostly) hate, it's frustration. I like this game, I want this game to succeed but seeing it follow the exact same path as other games that I liked that have been abandoned pisses me off.

A game discussion thread isn't just about praising the dev and sucking his dick in every post, people are allowed to vent their frustrations related to the game and it's development.

"Peasant" means the reply this most deserves is "go fuck yourself." With that taken care of...

Version numbers are completely arbitrary and basing any argument on them in any case is thoroughly silly.

You are in fact required to take the only primary source of information at its word. Refusing to do so means your perspective on what's going on in development is not based on reality and should be regarded as such. And thus shot down, if it contradicts reality.

**The biggest falsehood and the entire reason I bothered to reply is lumping this game and team in with the myriad that have gone the way you stated. I agree it's far too common, and it's fuckin' sad; but no, that is not happening here, and my entire point was that this is a sterling counter-example. So considering threads on this board only need the tiniest push to turn into a cynical hate-train, like hell I'm about to watch it happen from a salt-post that is demonstrably not true. Not happening. So if you're going to vent frustrations (something that no one on this board is required to oblige you, I'll note), if you have to do it with lies you should keep your mouth shut.**

At the end of the day, the situation and delays are not unreasonable. Human developer, human problems. If that doesn't suit, well, that's your perogative. QQing about it is pointless.

And no dick-sucking is happening here. None of my praise is undeserved. You're free to think that, and how fucking dare you say it, but you're free to be wrong.

Well. Now that you've doubled-down and so have I, if neither of us is going to change our mind, I'm not inclined to clog up the thread with any more argumentative back-and-forth. Nobody likes seeing that.

It's probably both, tbh. Let's be real with ourselves, the decision to take your best talent and make porn of it is probably not a mentally sound decision. What was once passion, mixed with a bit of horniness, has most likely turned to nothing but obligation with maybe a spark of the flame that was once there.

That's why you see a lot of feature creep with a lot of games like this, devs trying to branch out to break up the monotony and find that flame. At least that's my theory.

Aye it seems rather rare to find the few that seem to write deep, full-featured "life if we were less prudish and embraced, even ennobled sexuality as a valid form of expression." Nice to see when it happens though.

On the topic of sparks, I remember seeing something quite funny but also kinda brilliant last November: porn artists/writers/game developers that actually do participate in No-Nut-November. Why? Because when do you come up with your filthiest, most debauched fantasies? When you're pent-up. God bless 'em for choosing to endure that for our sake.
