How the fck are ppl actually investing this much time on a game like this?:WaitWhat: I really tried playing thru it, but after 15 loops of repetitive slop and hardly any stat gains... I just couldn't:HideThePain:.
If the issue is that you aren't getting any stat gains, then it sounds like you just weren't managing your time very well.

You said you did 15 loops. What was your average MoL towards the end there?

If the issue is that you don't like management games that's a completely separate issue and just a taste thing. No need to call people names.

The game is very much a time management puzzle with an interesting story. If you're looking for mindless grind you'll be stuck for a while.

I like management games, the reason why I picked this up despite having god-awful Ui and everything.

I am literally looking for meaningful grind. The game at start talks about importance of charisma , but it turned out to be a trap because there was no way of carrying it over. At the very least, there should be an option to inherit previously unlocked routines:HideThePain:. Some folks above did tell me to focus on well..."focus" stat:BootyTime: , but even then the yield is very un-satisfactory .

This is my screen at the start of 14th loop (I mistakenly said 15) , what do i need to do and can this game be actually "played" , without having to use Auto function.

How are you achieving 1000+ loops , I tried auto but couldn't work thru it so all my loops were just me choosing manually and clicking thru 100 days:HideThePain::HideThePain::HideThePain: , What kind of spectrum does one need to be on to actually enjoy "playing" this game?

Simple, just gain stats.

Jokes aside, I like seeing numbers go up. I set up a good loop, let it auto for a day or two while I do other things. Come back, buy a bunch of upgrades and do everything again manually, but better. Then I look at the numbers and go, "Hmm, these numbers are much bigger", and feel happy. Then I repeat.

When auto doesn't work, that's either cause the game bugged so it thinks it's one day ahead, which screws up the order of events. Or it's because you brought/refunded an upgrade, so now you can't complete certain actions. Buying upgrades usually requires a manual loop, mostly while you're just starting out.

Edit:

The dev has said that the finished product is intended to be something you can, well, finish within a few loops. Unfortunately this is not the finished product, and so we have auto.

Yeah as the above comment said, it's just a numbers going up thing for me, complimented by an intriguing story that drew me in. I usually just let it run on the background while I do other stuff lol

What most people do at your stage of the game is explore different routes to see if they can find useful interactions that boost output. It looks like you've been ignoring Jackal's route.

You should be able to rescue Tanaka pretty easily at your stage, which gives a bunch of extra MoL to spend on.

Charasma is super important after you have a number of upgrades into it. It and Academics are both crazy powerful once they give multipliers of +1.x. Until then it's a waste of time, but it will eventually be absolutely essential for getting exponential gains.

But also this just doesn't seem like your kind of game. I personally love it when I go from getting +25 goal progress to +3000 because I lined up my interactions properly. And then when I get +2.3m wetworks xp in a single action it's very satisfying. And when I get an upgrade that allows me to have an early gain that gets an important goal or stat 1 day earlier that feels so important.

EDIT: For what it's worth. I don't enjoy grinding, and I almost never use Auto.

I can understand how to use an academics based routine, but I'm not sure how to start with a charisma based routine. Is it something you bumrush or something you gradually build up after day 32?

I'm not sure if this is a charisma based routine. I usually get a lvl or two in charisma before the kidnapping, get a few more lvls in focus after kidnapping (around 15 total), switch to larceny and generous to do Hashimoto goals and the Master Your Popularity goals to buff how much relationship lvls buff stat gain based off your charisma lvl, get academics rolling. Then I just farm debate with Hashimoto and academics. Sometimes I switch to a day or two of focus, lvl up the MYP goal for more stat bonuses, then go back to academics and charisma.

It depends a lot on what upgrades you have. Which to be fair is pretty much everything in this game.

If you have a bunch of Impatience, it becomes feasible to rush Charisma by getting courted. You'd have to have a ton of MoL invested to do that though.

Otherwise, I think getting Charisma is easiest by debating with Hashimoto when you're farming Academics from the tower. That way you're pairing the gain with Self-Destructive.

What sort of total MoL should I be looking at to have the Tower fully unlocked by day 50 or so, just so I have a shot at Truthseeker?

You only need like 1K - 2K MoL for that goal, you just need to make sure you're using Hashimoto's self-destructive stance to boost the tower actions by over 3 times while occasionally using Yumeno's Game Design Action to boost your focus

Okay, so I got Savior L3 d101.

MoL at the end of each loop are as follows
L1 - 121, L2 - 140, L3 - 159.

L3 probably has the most room for improvement. I think there's probably a way to get in a game dev goal somewhere which would be pretty massive. However, importantly, this means that I start L4 with 420 MoL. So I don't think I'm going to try to optimize these any further until somebody beats my score.

I'll take a crack at the R2 leaderboard when the R2 public comes out next week :) Pity the L2 savior ended up not being as useful as I thought it'd be! I guess I'll have to redo it!

While I'm playing on the R2 build, none of those runs touched the R2 content at all. It's just straight MoL boosting in preparation for the R2 run proper.

I learned a lot from your save, so I'd definitely say it was useful.

Does anyone know how to progress in the Metropolis? I met with Tanaka and made the plan, but "Cause Trouble" doesn't visibly progress anything but my finance level. I don't have any more goals there so all I can do is farm meaning of life for next loop as of now, I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Can't go past that point in this version. Next version releases in 1-2 days, might allow progression

It's release 2 + 2 bugfixes. I'm curious whether release 2d has a lot of content worth getting a month early though.
