As you choose who you date about 23 days in it doesn't really matter,

I think the NTR route means you can participate or choose not to.

Also the game is so buggy, you can be on pure alpha and get an NTR scene, because instead of fixing the issue the dev basically lazily put in a work around that you need to know how to fix

The NTR switch is working disappointing.

I switched it on (NTR On NTR Dislike)
And the next day Sunny and Tracy were all into Marcus, even though on my playthrough they had nothing to do with Marcus and were already doing sexy shit with the MC.

It was also the first time that I was starting to do sexy things with the teachers (Except Carla that has been dating the MC since way back). With the switch on, the principle immediately starts banging the teacher, and with it switched off, the scene playes out completely different.


I find this mechanic extremely disappointing, since it looks almost like the route is determined by this flag instead of your choices in the game....

You can tell it was a band-aid solution. I'm rewriting the game for fun, and it's script code is some of the worst organized I've seen in a renpy game. I'm not 100% convinced they're working with a programmer at all, or they switch people so often that it's become too time consuming to fix.

I think he was very ambitious at the start. I have seen the initial walkthrough, and it was complicated as hell, switching between Apha/Beta and full on NTR paths. The decision should have been based on RP/lust and corruption points of the girls together with MC confidence.

It seems like halfway through the game, the dev just decided "Fuck this" and now reads everything of the NTR On/Off and dislike/like flags, abandoning the previous values.

Not the worse decision, but good to know at least. (Take the fun out of it a bit, since now NTR is hard blocked on my playthrough.)

I will now just set NTR to Off and play the game as Alpha by default.

"A struggle with sin" is kind of my goto game in terms of How I think NTR should be implemented in a game.
I think that was kind of the idea of the dev in the beginning.
(The Spell book also tried and failed to implement it like that)

NTR Off = Alpha
NTR On + NTR Dislike = Beta
NTR ON + NTR Like = NTR

Beta and NTR paths look very similar to me...I would guess you are "friends" with Marcus on Beta path?

I'm trying to simplify the system, but I'm not sure how it'll go until I get farther in. I've removed the corruption and slut points, and replaced it with "Beta" and "Alpha" choice counters. There is a status function that compares the two stats and determines what kind of person you are. It allows for a Neutral path because you can set an allowable range difference between Alpha and Beta choices. These games always have so many arbitrary stats.

Posting an initial test of the first three days of my Cultural Shock rewrite. This goes from the Intro to the end of the Day 3 Party. Obviously, this is not a final version, so don't expect all features from the original game to be working, like the gallery, etc. The stat screen currently shows all necessary values for the new systems, but does have legacy values from the old systems. The latter can be ignored, and they will be removed in the next update.

Please let me know if you find any typos or bugs, and I'm always down to read general feedback on character reactions or route pathing. I am open to plot/dialogue suggestions, but I do have a general idea of how things are going to play out with the current assets available, and I am limited to the renders in the original game.

I am focusing on the rewrites of the paths in the original game first, so NEUTRAL paths have been planned but not developed. It will most likely be a monogamy route.

This is a fan-work that I am using to learn the Renpy framework and best practices, and I don't intend to profit off it. If anything, I am hoping it revitalizes interest in the original game. I am not associated with the original creator or game in anyway.

The below file only contains the what is needed to run the game til the end of the rewrite, and is about 1.25 GB. Anything past that has been removed to make the file smaller.

Here is the rewrite up to Day 5. I had a complaint about a bug. Next update will be after Day 8 is completed, unless this version also has a game breaking bug.

- Added an additional jerkoff shower scene with fanart (permission given)

- Added a 'watch porn' option to computer - It's light on content for now.
- Script updated to Day 5. All previous days edited for flow.

Just keep doing the good work and hone your skills. If you do have a notion to start your own project you will have a head start.
