I guess the response is whether you like cuckold sloppy seconds or not. The successful devs obviously cater to what creates the highest number of patrons, and IMHO is incest, big tits, MILFs, barely legal MC, non-NTR, etc...
I personally don't really like NTR but the dev of Where it all began does exactly this.
If a dev can pull this off, then he should go for it.
But a lot of people ignore games with "NTR" in the tags.
If someone just wants to make some bucks, he should probably go for a no-ntr game.

Mikey Mike I'll tell you this. King of Lust has a vision for the game and wants to get it done. With his current team, he's got a damn good chance of getting the game he wanted to make. This is his baby, his game, his voice. He shouldn't change it for anyone. Not for any soul. He should stick to his vision and remain true. He'll profit. And let me tell you, 7 of the top 25 Adult games on Patreon according to graphtreon feature NTR content with swinging, cuckoldry, cheating and NTR. So your claim is completely false.
I may sound like a broken record..
- There are THOUSANDS of Developers and many are on here.
- Hundreds of them contain ntr and its related fetishes.
We can agree the above 2 are facts.
Now, how many have changed course because of NTR concerns/crybabies?
3 that I know of. Out of HUNDREDS. Many devs have made it optional or added a warning.
But the ones who changed to kill their original vision?? They aren't being developed anymore. They're dead. Gone, abandoned, dust.
Those games that don't change course survive. Those that do die. So if you are crying about NTR and begging the dev to remove it completely, you are flirting with killing the game for good. Why may or may not be your goal.
The takeaway? Devs should listen to their heart, not "internet warriors". With that said, from the beginning, I've had a feeling of confidence in King of Lust pulling this off and getting a few dollars in his pocket.

Should make a thread and ask this question, would make for some good argument's. But i'll give my take on it.
A dev that has to cater to both, will alway's have a hard time pleasing both side's. Which in turn give's pressure to the dev which also lower's the enthusiasm of making another update. Simply because two crowd's want two different thing's. The story almost alway's lack when a dev attempt's at doing both. I love NTR for example, their will alway's be a solid fan base for it. But if you ask me, if a dev chooses to do both path. I personally would like it, so that one route get's finished first then focus on the next one. Me being an NTR fan would like that route to be finished first. It's so that the story is already done for it.
Also the two answer's given to you about the whole patreon shit. The neutral people will donate regardless of what fetishes you put in as long as the story and dialogue is top notch. Obviously if the fetishes the hater's don't like is avoidable might be a deciding factor to. For instance, i've donated on patreon to a game or two and it didn't have any of the fetishes that i liked some i didn't even like. Solely because of the good story. Anyone can make hot render's etc, but add a great story to it with consistency is tough job.
Since i typed this i got to ask, is the next update after V1.0 gonna be alpha shit again or can we expect some NTR?.

If i've said it once i've said it a hundred times (odd saying that)....
Devs should always, always, always still to the game they want to make never what others want them to make it into.
I've seen far too many good games fall by the wayside and get abandoned due to listening too much to their players and turning their game into something they no longer had any passion to make.
I download these games to play what the dev is making not what random forum dweller wants the game to be.
There are a lot of games I love with content i'm not into but it's optional so I avoid it. I still love the games I just avoid the parts I dislike.
I don't mind NTR, i'm not a guy so i'm not immersed in male protag games so the NTR stuff doesn't bother me at all. I still get to see the women fuck and the women are all i'm here for.
I do prefer romance because i'm soppy and NTR goes against that so while I don't mind it I do have a preference to avoid it if avoiding it gets me to the romantic stuff.
I don't mind the NTR being there, people love it and i'm all for people enjoying themselves. I don't believe any dev should change his game to suit anyone.
By all means take ideas you think may work but story and character interaction should all be the devs work.
Every dev should enjoy making their game as much as we enjoy playing them.
These are the worlds, characters and plots the devs are bringing to us and that's how it should be.

I've played both and they have handled it well.
There are others like The Engagement that had a rocky start but that wasn't slammed for the NTR, it was the terrible characters but it seems okay now.
Point is, both can be done and have been done to pretty good success.
Of course it would be easier to make 1 group happy and focus on 1 route but everyone happier is better.

Focusing on just one kink would save on development time, not having to render so many different scenes or variations of scenes, and it would cut down on the potential for continuity errors. I don't really care if a dev wants to put all kinds of different kinks in a game, as long as the players have the choice of whether they want to opt in or opt out. The main concern is whether or not it's "good," or at least has something going for it to make it interesting, like a good dramatic story, good comedy, or an interesting character or set of characters that draws the player in and makes the player want to see what's going to happen next. I honestly think that is way more important than whether or not a game caters to a specific kink, but I may be in the minority there. Maybe everyone really just skips through everything just to get to the sex scenes, though I really don't see the point of that when porn would be much easier to consume for those who just want to see sex than to bother downloading these games just to skip through to the sex scenes. XD

I completely agree with you. There has been great success with dev's who haven't quit on their vision and went through with both route's. I'm wondering, do you consider Babysitter to be a game that has done well on both route's?. I played it and i really felt that they did a good job to.

And what seven is that exactly? My list has one that I can see, and that's if you use a pretty loose definition of it. The first game that I see that actually has NTR as a core theme is TT, and that blew up after a lot of the NTR was neutered.

If you can only create a limited amount of content in each update you will inevitably have to choose what you are going to give priority, of course the creator will use most of the resources in the content that he likes, leaving everything else in the background, this it's neither good nor bad it's just the way it is
and that was visible in this game, until this update came out an inequality in the content of the routes was clear, but now they are even and hardly anyone could deny it, I think the game is in a good place now ,it only remains to see what will happen next

So, if that's the case, most successful games don't feature NTR.
The problem with NTR is that it's mutually excludent with the straight man who likes harem route (majority). Since it's roleplay, first person games, a common man doesn't to roleplay a cuck who wants to see a lot of man fucking women. The regular Joe wants to see and fuck a lot of women as the MC.
For example, by watching a movie, there's no role play, it's a third person view. It's the same reason why most people don't like exclusive female MC for roleplaying.
It's natural for devs to want to cater to everybody in order to maximize earnings, but some features, like cuckoldry, are too incompatible with mainstream.
There are a lot of cuckold games exclusive games for that audience, but the mix with harem story turns out to be detrimental for the progression of the game at least, like what's happening with this game.
Sure, the game won't die, since it's optional what you play or not, but it'll be a long wait for the content everybody wants.
