Yes it is scamming...that's very concerning. My little brother once got involved in a pyramid scheme where he would sucker people into insurance they didn't need and once he got them to sign a contract, he'd make money. He had crazy money goals to reach or they would take from his paycheck and ended up losing money along with the people he scammed with his optional offer. They told him to get his friends involved and his friends friends. Everyone lost money and friendships. Only the person on top got a win.
Why is this relevant? I think it's safe to say your money will no longer be going into culture shock. It will be going into his house. Yes that is a violation of TOS on patreon and I think that until his house issues are settled he should freeze his patreon or pass the game onto another team.
His fanbase may rage at me for this but I honestly gain nothing from this post except expressing the fact it is indeed a scam. I don't want to see a bad future for those people that got scammed when the money could have gone to the actual game or something better than a supposed 30k house.

I am very much alive, and about that post you are calling it a scam. You should go and see my history first. You literally don't know my work or don't follow this game properly or else you would have not used scam things.

Your patrons pledge to you to help fund the development of your game not to fund you buying a house, nice to know what the money actually goes into.

What matters is that the developer is making a good game and the wait between Updates is acceptable, what the patreons do with their money is their business, if they scam you it's your fault for not studying well where you are investing your money and Anyone who says otherwise is an impoverishing lefty socialist .

To hopefully stop future unnecessary posts with pointless passive antagonist attacks on the dev due to the post:~
Dev stated in the post NOT to share it on sites such as this for this exact reason.
He is asking for donations separately from the development of the game.
The actual truth is that what the devs do with the money its their own concern & we will actually never know either; its always on the people that "choose" to be patrons to make the decision if they want to invest or not. Its as simple as that.
And the most important thing is if your not a patron you should not have a voice as you have not invested anything.

I've been a patron for a long time for this dev & the only complaint I have is releases take longer than usual.
But that is already communicated to a degree so its on me for still choosing to be a patron.

Lastly how is it a scam/milking or whatever you wanna call it when dev laid all the cards on the table.
Believe dev or not, donate or not. Its still your fault if your scammed, your an adult. Make a decision & live with it.

Sorry for dragging this on I usually don't post to drama but I'm pretty sure this will escalate so i chose to share my thoughts.

You know you don't have to pay him just because he asked for it, right? But please don't tell people what to do with their own money. The guy has a base, and he's just asking for donations; he is not saying that he has got this brand new NFT that no one knows about and if you invest now you can easily double your money. Now that would be a scam. Asking people for optional donations with the actual reason why is not scamming anyone.

Using your patreon to say "Hey gimme some money so I can buy a house, dont worry I will pay you back." is scamming. But hey if you want to put down a mortgage on his new home dont let me stop you.

King of Lust You would be better off deleting your recent Patreon post as it seems to have scared off some patrons already and may scare off more in the future. I agree with Endless, your patrons will never know what you ultimately spend the money on and that is your decision. As long as you provide updates, they won't care. If you really want to get a house, I'd advise just putting your effort into Culture Shock to maintain and possibly increase a source of passive income.

I find it amazing that people love to throw out the "you arent even a patron/supporter" card anytime someone brings up an issue with a developer/game when in reality all they are doing is making assumptions so that their argument can be valid.

Patreon isnt a charity website, people support creators because they want to support their work/art/goods/services, its not a site to be used for handouts. Theres a reason people arent on patreon saying "Please tier 3 subscribe so I can buy some snacks and pay for my car note, oh also my baby mama is looking for child support so any donations you guys can give me for that is appreciated."

Damn right I am going to speak up when I see someone trying to take advantage of other people, I dont care how you perceive me, as long as the truth is out there and I have said my peace I dont give a damn what happens, I warned people and if they continued then thats on them, the point being I tried.

If culture shock continues, cool beans im all for it but I wouldnt hold my breath. There were alot more successful porn games that had scamming creators than there weren't. At least this time the developer made the mistake of showing us he is getting tired of it.

New to this game, but I'm so glad I found it. I've been looking for something exactly like this. One of the best NTR games on here. I hate myself for starting another game that updates so slowly, but I really like the story and the character models.

This games character models are great.. specially the Sunny. And the game mechanic that changes around the MC's confidence is pretty good and there are a lot of dialogue changes... And the best thing is I get to choose to get the girls I want even after that girl already NTRed. And ya..
