(less is more)Wolfzq, I was a patron of the first game for nearly the entire duration of the project, but I will not be supporting CAII. Spending over a month no progress on the project except some shitty attempt at DRM is not acceptable. When that happened, I noped out of supporting CAII.
That said, I hope you have success with it and go on to future projects. Just learn your lesson about proper customer relations. The time spent on attempting DRM is completely wasted, the triple A titles get broken when they try it too. The only effect it has is pissing off fans of the game as they have to get the crack to fix all of the problems caused by the DRM.

Ah man, somehow I knew there was going to be something that make me end up hating this project like I hated the Lootbox costumes from the first one. This one being considerably worse imo.
AAA games publishers are know to be scummy not because they make AAA games but because of how they make them and how they sell them to the players. For example: excessive DRM.
As for performance, it will harm it. Because it is more convenient to play a game with no DRM than with DRM, no matter what that DRM is.

Here is reality as a software developer of any size.
Either do what you do, realize some people will use your work without paying for it.
Or spend a bunch of time trying to prevent people from stealing your work, then watch in horror as they do it anyway and the net impact of your efforts is that you wasted time on it and made the experience worse for your paying users.
Is that great? No, but that's reality. It has been for at least 30 years. That's speaking as a software developer. When it comes right down to it, most of the people who steal your work were never going to pay for it anyway. What's worse is that often you will get customers when someone steals it, then tells a friend who pays for it. Speaking specifically to F95, I have yet to become a patron for any project that I just randomly found on the internet. On the other hand I've been a patron of several that I've found here and liked.
So how do you get people to pay rather than steal? Stand out. Offer the best quality content. Few people are going to become a patron for a mediocre or low end product, but many will for a really great product. I'll say that CA 1 was quite good, I supported it.
Offer a good product and a good service. That's it. That's the only way you can get around piracy, tbh. If you use DRM then maybe less people will pirate your game. But what is for sure is that less people will buy your game unless you are on a AAA hype train and people can't wait to play it. That doesn't apply here. I am absolutely certain that there are more people who will drop this game because of DRM than there are people who will buy it because of DRM.
If someone wanted to steal his game and sell it as their own they would do so easily even with DRM, because breaking is easier than creating, and they would end up offering a superior product to the original because it would be DRM free. He will not back down because he's greedy and does not understand how piracy works.

Maybe it was a mistake to add DRM but one good way to learn is to make mistakes
I will not complain about DRM because I didn't have any issue with it (that's don't mean there's no problem with it)
And If this project begin to lose patrons because of this DRM maybe wolfzq will remove it but not now since the game's going good

Does anyone know what to do to use the RPG cheat maker? in particular to change the attributes settings?
I tried the old "$wolfzqPlayer" from CA I and it didnt pop anything up in the F8 menu

Was patreon for CA1 too until the author was more busy spamming my mailbox to complain he was "stolen" than translating the damn thing that was impossible to play for monthes. He say people are stealing him with piracy, but i never heard a comment on the way he was stating "game is 90% english translated" and you couldn't even play the main story without having walls of text in chineese. Cause actually this is stealing.

Wow ppl i can't believe this is what the community on f95 has evolved into...i remember the CA1 post just being about walkthroughs and help with things as it was a challenging game (for those who wernt just after a quick save file) and this CA2 post is now hanging shit on the creator...i wish more ppl could see it the way i did. I got CA1 from this site to begin with thinking it was a standard RPGM game and i was blown away with about 120+ hours worth of gameplay(i didn't know about the dimension skipper till about the 90th hour lol) with suprise after suprise (the slave quest took about 11 hours to complete xp)...i thought hey i have spent $100 on other games i have barely played and this one is amazing. I didn't even rack up half those hours on the entire fable series. Then the moment i saw a sequel i jumped on board so the creator could keep making the game that blew me away and already it is kicking goals(and I'll be getting the steam version of CA1 coz it was a great game). Also what is there to complain about there is a free version sure its abit behind the pay version but who cares you are getting something for nothing. Trials in tainted space has the same where the patreon version is a month in front of the free version(and im paying $5 per month for that compared to CA 2's $1 per month but i do get a android port with TITS) and it has a patreon backing of 30k per month plus other sources and for what 2k-5k words per month...It barley has a real story to follow its just loads of smut and it has no full blow CG's like CA does except for small dp's. I don't get ppl some times, there is actual quality in CA1 & 2 and all because the creator wants to try to preserve their income to ensure the CG artists can keep making pics for us(or what ever) everyone is up in arms...it could be worse, the TITS maker tweets about huge benders he goes on(curtsy of the huge backing TITS & COC has) and ask him questions because he is smashed lol...anyway rant over lol @wolfzq keep up the excellent work. Is not on patreon lol im paying and not getting this (when its free here) im pretty sure these are for the idea for the 1st bad ending as i managed to find a way to roughly translate the game so far. Just don't turn king galon(or what ever his name is) into santa during xmaz with him on that chair Xp lol
If you want a look at games of comparable (and in my opinion better) quality without all the bullshit wolfzq does here's a small list of similar games you can get here: Caliross, The Last Sovereign, Roundscape Adorevia, Succulence.
Some have more content, some have less. Some have more story, some have less. But overall, they are free, don't have unholy amounts of "Horse Armor" level DLC bullshit and do not treat their paying players like shit (DRM).
There is an example of how to do things right, and this is not one of them. This is an example of how to make players hate your game despite it being actually a good game.
